Take it easy. Banging your head against the wall might burn some carbs now, but it will be slow and painful. What's done is done. Go take a walk to burn faster through those nasty carbs you ate and think why you have cheated. You learn more from a stumble if you stay calm and understand why it happened than if you get mad at yourself.

And just because you had a bad meal (or 2 or whatever) today, it does not mean you will now throw away the whole day. Make sure your next meals for today are "legal", healthy and nutritious. Drink enough water and take your supplements. And throw away any carby/sugary food you might still have around. If you want to have some fun, you can destroy it by going over it with your car, by painting it with (non-food) dye, by making food balls to throw at people passing by on the street.... I'm sure you can come up with some cool ideas.

Maddy, I have been there and beat myself up for it too. But I have to tell myself that I chose wrong and try not to do it again. We learn. One bad meal isn't going to ruin your whole plan as long as you get right back on plan.

I know for me there are situations that I get in that there is NO low carb choices and I have to just eat what I think is the least carbs even though more than I should and go on with it. I know that isn't hte way to do it but for me I think That is the mindset I have to be and do. church functions, school functions, meals at family's is the hardest for me when I have no choices.

Even though I didn't have a perfectly clean induction I think I am just moving on to OWL on Wednesday and see how it goes. Never hurts to try.

I dont' understand the rung thing? Don't remember that from last time I did Atkins.

Re: Re-starting induction aug 17th......anyone wants to join?

Hey its Monday! Two weeks done. Thanks for everyone's support. I'm down a total of 6 lbs. My big challange of the week is that I am making choc. chip cookies for my son in college and driving them to him tomorrow. I have made these for my kids on the first day of school since my oldest started kindergarden. Usually I had them sitting on the counter warm when they got home so we could sit down and talk over the first day. Great memory for all of us. My goal is to get the cookies to my son without eating any of them myself. I think I'll make them tomorrow so they aren't sitting in the house overnight.

I had a great weekend. The weather wasn't nice so we stayed home from our boat and got things done around the house. My DH put up additional shelves in our closet and I reorganized my side of the closet and tried on a lot of old clothes that no longer fit (are too big). I now have three laundry baskets of bigger clothing the take to goodwill. Now thats a big motivation. I haven't been to our home church much this summer because we go away every weekend and a number of people commented on my weight lose.

On Saturday night we took salsa dancing lessons with friends and had a lot of fun. Great exercise! I'm not sure my hips with every be able to do what the instructors did.

I need to make another batch of oppsies today, they are a breakfast staple for me.

I hope everyone has a good day/week/the sun is out where I'm at.

Re: Re-starting induction aug 17th......anyone wants to join?

Well, i messed up big time. Saturday was my best friends birthday and i had to keep her company. We drank wine and gobbled on carbs throughout the day. Talk about hangover the next day!! I weighed myself on saturday morning and the scale showed 168 lbs.

Now i wont be stepping on the weighing scale till friday again. I will exercise at least 5 times this week and will be back on induction. Is anyone thinking of extending this week?

I am pretty sure i am thrown out of Ketosis. Will i have to endure the induction-flu again?

              Cheers!

Great job on the weight loss so far. I don't know if you will go out of ketosis but I do know that just one off track day doesn't have to mess up the whole plan. The carb hangover the next day is the worst.

When I've had a mess up I revist this forum and find new recipes and get motivation from people who've been there. You mentioned we have close starting weights; I wish that I had started atkins at 29. Rooting for you everyday.

Tania - in my opinion you should just move on. You have done great so far. I like Sugar Free Shiela site for advice and such also. She says once close or at goal she has a "fun day". I like that idea. Something to work towards.

I only lost 1 pound this week, but I wasn't perfect in that I had a little alcohol over the week. So I knew it would not be much. But I will take one pound. I also think in reading more I am eating too many veggies and protein at each meal and need to cut my portions back. I am really feeling the less appetite and the missing a meal nad not realizing that I have. That part of this WOE i really like.

I am not perfect on the Atkins plan but I do my best.

                  Happy Tuesday All

Re: Re-starting induction aug 17th......anyone wants to join?

                    Thanks Tami,

I love this forum as well. Keeps me stronger. Also my motivation shoots up when i come across people who are in the same boat as me.

Sometimes i feel i have been on-off Atkins so many times, the body doesn't respond to it as much. But overall staying on Atkins helps me to be focused and disciplined in all aspects of my life. I feel when i eat better, i exercise better, i work better and that gives me a feeling of satisfaction in my life knowing i am in control of things. The other way is just too depressing.

I am gonna keep going till i reach my goal weight. I will not give in. Will keep fighting till i achieve my goal and this forum helps me to not quit.

                    Thanks guys!

lilblackdress - i really like the idea of a 'fun day' where we can eat all and whatever we want. But i just hope i dont do it too often

I was once in the same boat as you. What helped me was to cut back on dinner portions. I started losing weight immediately. You can try this and see if it works for you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Tania - I will try that. Also bringing my lunch in smaller containers. I seem to have eyes bigger than my stomach in the mornings and pack and then end up eating it cuz it is there. Portion control needs to be my next step to take.

It is all learning and soon we will all be thin and so smert (as homer simpson says).

Love this forum it keeps me going on this WOE cuz it works.

                          Ladies,

A long pending plan of a Vegas trip with my girlfriends have been finalized on 22nd October. I used to live in US before i moved to London about a year and half back........i am so so thrilled to meet up with my near and dear friends who go a long time back and also to go to Vegas ( i have never been there).

So saying that, i really have found a motivation which i can make use of to lose the much needed weight. So here's my plan:

4 weeks of Induction - starting today 3rd Sep till 1st Oct.
beyond 1st October - moving to the 2nd phase.

I want to give it all for once and not have to worry about my weight problem all the time. Over years i have always eaten unhealthy and now its just a month to a complete new self. I need to do this for myself.

I am going to start a new thread for the 30 day induction marathon.....anyone interested please respond. It isn't going to be easy but together we will make it through.

                          Regards,
                          Tania

Well I am sad to say I fell off the wagon when we moved back into house starting last wednesday and it was a downhill spiral in my eating throughout the weekend. We ended up having family here and two gatherings at my house. All of which had sweets and varieties of food. I should of planned better and kept my resolve to the program. But I thought oh well I go off til Tuesday and back on, no big deal. Well the scale said it was a big deal, my bloated stomach says it is a big deal and my yucky feeling in general is a big deal.

So I have learned my lesson, and since it was since last Wednesday I feel I am going to start induction over and be clean and get this weight off. I can do it. The kids start back to school so it is a time of renew and starting. So today I start my low carb WOL and on to healthier me.

I see people on here with great success and also look at like George Steller family and Sugar Free Shiela and Linda Sue and many more that are inspiration. It can be done. I want to be on that list of success. I have lost before on this WOL and to keep it up I wouldn't be here again. So it will be a ongoing lifestyle change. One that I wil have the willpower to keep.

Was gone for the holiday weekend. Can't say that I did the best (not terrible but....) I am home now and back on track. I signed up for the push up challenge and yet to do a pushup. Starting another week yesterday. No more weight loss. Did good today.
