Re: Re-starting induction aug 17th......anyone wants to join?

Day two down for me, it was my son's birthday so I took the day off of work. So I took both kids shopping and out to lunch which I did good had salad. Then tonight we went to Grandparents for birthday supper and cake. I messed up in that I had a ej/water with my dad however I caught myself when making it and made mine very weak so it was more like slightly flavored water. I should of just not done it, next time I will just say no. So I dont' know if I screwed up or not already. But I am moving forward and I did not have any cake. Had steak, zuchinni and peppers. ACK just remembered my son put some sliced cucumbers on my plate that I ate that are in a sauce that is made with a little sugar and then vinegar and miracle whip. However they didn't have much sauce on .. OK so on to better choices tomorrow. I will do this and be a lot more conscience of what things have in them. I knew going to my parents would be the hard part.

Here's to better days and low carb choices!!!

I guess it is all a learning process.......some days arent going to be perfect specially in the beginning because we are all trying to make new food choices that we are not used to.....but i think the point is to learn from mistakes.....and not trying to do it next time……and in a few days we all will be smart enuf to know whats good for us and whats not. Keep it up team! We have to do it for ourselves.

Wonderfully said Tania - we learn from mistakes and become stronger with the right choices we make.

Almost done with day 4. Went to the pub to see a friend, and only had a diet soda to drink. Yes it has aspartame, but that's all I had. No alcohol at all, which was not an easy choice, but one I made all the same.

Re: Re-starting induction aug 17th......anyone wants to join?

I had a diet coke tonight also on my drive home from getting paint. I don't usually have soda but my son got it for me. All in all today was a good day. It was hawaiian day at work and I passed up the fruit kabobs, and other carb fair they were serving. I had leftover steak and grill zuchinni and peppers. Tonight I ran to get paint so went through Dairy Queen for supper and got a burger - minus the bun. Little hungry now but more thirsty than hungry so getting a large glass of ice water. I peaked at my weight today also, but didn't take too much in it as I know weight fluctuates so much daily but so far it showed down 4.5. I don't feel that or think that is right.

Once house is back together and game room up and going again I will do Wii fit.

I have three days into it. ...

Good job to Kerri and Valinerya for your awesome choices today.. be proud!

Day 3 down....I had a good day today. Did my walk and made good food choices. We had a party at work, of course they had a cake.....I had a salad instead. The cake smelled really good, but turned it down. I came home from work tonight and there was leftover pizza.....that was tough, but I didn't cave......time for bed now. Good job everyone, good luck tomorrow....

                    Anyone having similar experiences?

I sure am Tania. The past two days I have been so incredibly tired I could easily sleep all day! I'm exhausted by about 1pm, and that's with waking up at 9am!

My appetite is decreasing as well, and I find that I am hungry when I wake up, and that's about it till late at night. The rest of the time, I couldn't care less if I ate or not.

No fever though - you may want to check your temperature, and just be sure it's induction flu and not the actual flu. I hope you're feeling better really soon Tania.

I can relate to the tired feeling, I usually get up and work at my second job from 5-6:30 in the morning and I just haven't been able to drag myself out of bed. So far just a slight headache nothing bad yet. I am going to try to give up my couple cups of coffee in the morning, but will see how that goes. Love my coffee in the morning. Think sometimes its just a hot soothing taste so I might try some green tea.

I too am somewhat leary of the weekend not so much the food cuz I am the cook but more the friday night cocktail with dh that I am worried about. However we have nothing in the house so that helps. I have to paint three bedrooms this weekend so that should keep me busy and I would hope some exercise.

                        Have a great day everyone!!

This is great, I just came across this forum. I also restarted on 8/17/9. I am experiencing the induction "flu" achy...tired...multiple trips to the wash room. I remember it from the last time. I only stayed on induction for two weeks the first time around because of my symptoms. I know my body likes this diet in the long run so I'm trying to hang on. I have not started exercising yet this week. I'm going to drag myself out of bed and go to the YMCA to get a start. I find that if I focus on new recipes that it is easier to stay on the diet. I trying to make the time to cook because it is good for my longterm health and for my family. Also if I have something good to look forward to then I am less likely to stray to the foods that will get me off track.

                          Have a great day everone.

Fever (if you really have fever) and sore throat are not symptoms of the Induction flu. You probably got the real thing...

For headaches, you can take something like Advil. You should all feel better really soon. Hang in there and make this a cheat-free weekend.

Well, finally i woke up today morning and the headache is gone and i feel back to normal and actually full of energy! I am so happy coz this is what is written in DANDR (i read it yesterday night).

Today morning at the grocery store, i was strolling past the bakery section and i was not tempted at all.

I hope everyone is having a 'good' weekend.
