Hope everyone is doing well on day 2!
So far so good here, but I am having major cravings/cheat urges this afternoon for some reason. I'm fighting it.
The ketostix are already turning a little pinkish today, so that's a good sign. Just need to tough it out through the urges to cheat/quit. I'm doing great at drinking the water, though. I did 8+ glasses yesterday and so far 8+ already today.

          Re: Who's Starting Induction 10/15/07

I am once again amazed at how quickly my body reacts to the Atkins diet. This is definitely the diet for me. My body goes into Ketosis within the first day. My cravings have stopped already and I am actually craving vegetables. I hate salad so I tend to eat other salad veggies, but now I want salad...lol. It is a great thing. I feel much clearer today and my lungs and sinus congestion (usually allergies) is clearing completely. I LOVE this diet. I don't know what took me so long to do it again. This time I am sticking with it for life!!! So... day 2 going good!!! And I walked.

It is nice seeing a picture where I actually have a neck!

Hey, I have a question... we are only suppose to have 19 grams of carbs per day-now is that suppose to include the 3 cups salad/veggies, or is it in addition?

I had major carb cravings. I can't wait for those feelings to diminish. However, I did not walk yesterday. Gotta work on getting that into the routine.
Debi, don't feel bad I didn't hit my treadmill yesterday like I wanted to either. And I doubt I'll hit it tonight. Having the WORST induction flu symptons! OY! Tummy troubles and a headache that just won't quit! I plan on making up for it once this feeling passes though.

                Re: Who's Starting Induction 10/15/07

It a little after 4pm on day 2 of induction! I've got a bad case of the "induction flu" and can't wait to feel better! I won't give up though, this time I'm sticking to this WOL! I did good today for having improv class, brought along a cheese stick and a tuna muffin. Got hungry after and when everyone went to the store and got junkfood I got a Gallo Snak pak of salami and provolone slices and a bottled water. Almost bought a little bag of almonds but no nuts for me until I get to that "rung". I'm not feeling well so I'm gonna lay down for a little bit, then I'm up cooking dinner before I go to the table read. Making porterhouse steak with green beans with lots of butter. I think eating that before will hold my hunger at bay so I'm not tempted to eat any snacks they may have there. I'm sure there will be "red vines" there, the industry standard! Btw, I once looked at the ingredients for red vines and there was wheat flour in them!!!! Amazing huh?

Happy day 2 to everyone, we're onto day 3!

                Woo-hoo!

You are allowed "up to" 20 grams of NET carbs a day. Meaning after fiber has been subtracted. For example, yesterday I ate 21 grams of carbs but had 9 grams of fiber which means my total NET carbs were 12. So technically I still had room for more carbs. You make up the carbs using the salad/veggies and any of the carbs coming from cheese, eggs or sour cream which all have trace amounts but can add up! I count cheese as 1 gm per oz. Do you track your daily food on fitday.com? You should because that way you can get a very accurate count on your carbs and fiber. Here's the link...

                    Re: Who's Starting Induction 10/15/07

Hello everyone! I am starting today, so thought I would join in! I have had a few falls off the wagon, so I am hoping this is it for me this time. I am sick of being overweight. And I don't want to look back in a year and be thinking exactly what I am today.

                    Anyway....
Breakfast - 3 eggs scrambled with some cheese
Lunch - will be pumplin soup with some cream
PM snack - will be some cheese
Dinner - Chicken breast with 1 cup lettuce and a cup of mushrooms and 1/2 cup tomatoes with mayo

                    And lotsa lotsa water.

Where do I go to get siggies etc?

I did great today with food and exercise.

I only ended up with 10 carbs. *sigh* Do you have to eat 20g? or can you eat less as long as the proper amount of veggies is included?

Great job on the water alimccat2001!!! Excellent!!!

Debi, while you're on induction it's normal to have less than 20g of carbs a day. If you're worried about it, try to pick veggies from the list with slightly higher carb counts, like peppers instead of lettuce. Way to go on exercising and having a cheat-free day!

Thank you Prya! I appreciate the information. I don't like lettuce, so that will be easy to do. Eating a salad is really tough for me...lol. I love the other salad veggies though. I have been eating cucumbers, cabbage, broccoli, string beans and cauliflower up to this point. I also added a few radishes one day, but then realized... that they aren't so good plain...lol.

                                Thanks alimccat2001.

Well I did so well yesterday! The only thing is I didn't drink enough water, but I wasn't at my desk most of the day, so it was hard to remember to keep drinking. Work even put on lunch..... and I didn't have any! I was so proud of myself.

                                Today.....
                                Breakfast - 3 eggs scrambled
Lunch - Pumpkin Soup with cream
                                PM snack - cheese
Dinner - Chicken breast with 1 cup lettuce, 1 cup of mushies and 1/2 cup tomatoes.

I know it sounds boring, but I like it.... and I prefer to do simple when I start. Plus I am picky with my food lol.

Can anyone tell me, do you think I should be eating some kind of meat for breakfast and lunch?
