    Thanks for pointing that out, Elizellen. I didn't know there was a difference.

    futurerancher, have faith in the plan, it WILL work. However, I recommend never ever ever weighing other than first thing in the morning, after eliminating and without clothing! The weight of the water and food that you eat, plus the clothing always varies from day to day, hour to hour even. So, don't torture yourself or second guess the plan by weighing without consistency. First thing in the morning after the potty without clothing holds everything constant for a true comparison.

      Thanks for the advice, I will try again in the morning to see where I am at. I don't want to get caught up in the scales game as many on here have warned against that. I really appreciate the pro's coming in here and giving us advice and encouragement because it really helps!

        Another cheat free day here with plenty of water. My total carbs for the day are 17-20 carbs according to fit day

          I'm soooooooooooooooooooo hungry and my mother didn't cook me food. =( -sighs- I didn't have many carbs today and I've been needing to use the restroom a lot. Woo, what a day.

            hey ... I hope you all did good today!!!

            I drank only 4 cups of water today I'm going to try to keep drinking until I go to bed, but I think that is very soon Although, I am happy to say no cheats today and my menu looked like this...

            breakfast

            scrambled egg with bacon
            w a little mayo and mustard to dip

            lunch

            leftover spaghetti squash and meatballs
            1/2 diet pepsi
            snack

            1/2 jello
            water

            din din

            tuna w garlic, olive oil and lemon juice eaten with lettuce leaves (imitating pita bread) really tasty!!!
            1/2 diet pepsi
            water water water...

            snack

            the other half of jello


            How about we all weigh in tomorrow since we haven't done so yet, and we'll check in with our weight once a week?!!! Maybe that way we look forward to the next week and we don't have to keep weighing ourselves everyday? Just a thought

              Sounds like everyone pulled through today. I hope you were able to eat a decent supper Bekka. I like the idea of a group weigh in, although I must admit I am a little nervous about it as well. Why don't we plan on everyone checking the scale they have reached a week. For me that would be Saturday. I personally don't feel like I have made any headway. Although tonight at the store I walked past the ice cream section and didn't even realize it until I was 10 yards beyond it. I NEVER walk past the ice cream section without a yearning glance. So that is progress in itself.

              Anybody else getting worried about Thanksgiving?

              Tomorrow's menu

              Breakfast
              2 "Atkins McMuffin" A homemade Atkins roll with a sausage patty a pinch of chedder cheese and cut bacon on top.

              Lunch
              3 chicken legs with green tabasco
              2 cups of salad with v/o

              Supper
              Halibut Olympia
              broc/caul mix

              And of course like everyone else, water, water water!

                I like the idea of a weigh in, but like futurerancher said tho' when everyone reaches the end of their own first week.

                  I like the idea of a weekly weigh in, sounds absolutely perfect to me!! For me, that will be Monday (the only day I can actually weigh myself without being bothered by parents...) And weekly weigh ins is much better than weighing yourself every single day and get discouraged! Sometimes you lose inches one week, the other week, you will lose pounds. Just a lil heads up. =P Take your measurements if you want to.

                  So, how is everyone doing this morning? I think I actually got a full nights rest this time. -yawn- Maybe it's because I finally had some closure yesterday at the veiwing. I don't know. I have a funeral to go to today and it's going to be really weird. I haven't been to one in a really long time and this time, its for someone I have known since 5th grade. =( Sadness.

                  Plus I get to run around all over the place, so that makes everything a bit harder!! I have to head to school, then leave, go to the funeral, then go to work, and then go over to a friend's to sleep. Oy vey. When am I supposed to eat? Lol. I will find a way!!! So, I won't be back on until tomorrow before I go to clinical internship for my EMT class which will be at 3pm California time. Oy!!!

                  Oh ya!! I'm in ketosis everyone! A small amount is just fine for me! =) I'll see you guys tomorrow! Good luck and make sure that you drink that water! Yum yum yum!!!

                    Yea weigh-in sounds good. Since i started cheatfree on Tuesday, I will weigh in next Tuesday morning. Im going to post my menu from yesterday. It seems like im eating a lot. I would like to get some feedback from some of the experienced atkiners on this thread...The carb grams were calculated by fitday.

                    Yesterday

                    Breakfast
                    2 eggs scrambled 1 gram carbs / fitday counted as 1 carb
                    4 slices bacon 0
                    1 sausage patty 0
                    1 coffee decaff 1
                    1 pkt splenda 0
                    1 ts creamer 1
                    2 slices tomato 2
                    ---------
                    5 grams carbs

                    Lunch
                    Salad with:
                    2 cups Lettuce 2 carbs
                    4 slices celery 1
                    1 slice tomato 1
                    3 slices cucumber 1
                    3 tbs ranch dr. 3
                    4 slices chicken
                    tenerloins 0

                    8

                    Supper
                    1 - 8oz beef patty 0 carbs
                    3oz ched. cheese 0
                    1 cup cooked
                    broccoli 5

                    For some reason fitday got 20 as a total, but i counted 21 carbs. Beef patty was cooked in foreman grill, and chicken tenderoins were cooked in a fry daddy in crisco oil

                      Todd your menu is really good! Really good!

                      You have to tell fitday to track your fiber. It doesn't sound to me like you are subtracting the fiber yet.
                      If you use fitday for Atkins then you must go to the Goals page and tell fitday to track fiber. You do this by clicking the 'Create Nutritional Goal' box where a list will drop down. Click on 'Dietary Fiber' in the list and then click "Go". After you do that fiber will show up right below the carb count on the daily foods page totals. You subtract the fiber total from the carb total and that is your net carb count. The fitday program will not subtract the fiber automatically but you can do this in your head when you look at your totals for the day.
                      the 20 carb rule is NET carb. Total carbs minus the fiber.

                        I like the idea of a weekly weigh in. Mine comes on Saturday, can't wait!

                        However today has not been so good for me. I've been really tired since I woke up and today's not a good day for tired. I had class at 7:45am then came to work and I get out at 5pm, gotta be at school again at 5:45pm, and on top of that I have to present in my last class. And I still have to dress up for the presentation and prepare for it. Wish me luck guys, I'm horrible at presentations!

                        My menu for today:

                        Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 hot breakfast patties, black coffee w/splenda

                        Lunch: chicken salad.

                        Dinner: steak and salad

                        Snack: beef jerky & chammanile tea w/splenda

                          Good, I'm glad everyone likes the weekly weigh in....Everyone just post whatever day would be a week for them! For example I started on Sat Nov 10 and my weigh in should be this Sat Nov 17! I can't wait....but I can.....haha..Good luck today everyone!!!

                            Hope everyone is doing ok and had a good day. I had a good day. I just want to take the time to encourage people to take advantage of the challenges. Thats one thing that has helped me a whole lot this time around, and held me together. For some this is our only support group, so take advantage of all the board has to offer.

                              Hi everyone,

                              I did pretty well the first 3 days of this week. However, laying aside all excuses, I have not done so well the rest of the week.

                              Tuesday, I could not sleep and as I said was discouraged, so after buying the crab free ice cream and not giving it away. I was anxious to get the “real” induction started. I tried to eat the ice cream in one night.

                              BOY THAT WAS THE WRONG MOVE! I was sick all night Tuesday night. Then Wednesday trying to make it off of 2hrs sleep because I was sick all night, I got through the day. Then my church needed help and so I went and helped them. After that I felt like I had to have a slice of cheesecake.

                              Tonight I could not resist the cheesecake and popcorn again. But on the positive note our vendor brought in bagels this morning, and I did not have one . I had Hardees’s low crab bowel this morning.

                              And pasta toss without the pasta for lunch. It was vegetables, chicken, shrimp with mozzarella cheese and chicken broth worked in a wok. It was delicious. I had two cups of coffee mostly decaf with cream. But I am going to take whipped cream to work tomorrow for my coffee so I can leave the cream alone. So with the exception of the cheese cake slice and the cheddar popcorn, I did okay.

                              Everyone was commenting on my weight loss this far. I am so ready and excited to start induction right and really get this body to burn.

                              I do have a question. My scale at home says that I am one number and then the manual scales I use at work and at my office work out center says another. Do you think my scale is broke? It doesn’t act like it.

                              I haven’t really worked out since Monday. I am a ERT at work and we had a drill today. I had to go down 10 flights of stairs and then back up 8 so that has not to count for something.

                              I am so glad for this web site. I am so happy to be here. Thank you all for having me.

                                Daione,

                                It sounds like you are having a tough go. I hope that things will improve for you tomorrow. I have had some success and a lot of failure with Atkins as I would give up everytime I had a failure. I hope that you will not fall into that same trap. Whatever you do, wake up tomorrow and get back on that wagon! I believe that you can do it.

                                I have been kind of struggling today as well. I got some bad news today and it nearly drove me back to my demon of choice, Full large Pizza, quart of ice cream followed by a pack of sunflower seeds. Thankfully, with some prayer and checking in on our thread pulled me through. I know that I will never meet any of you folks but I am trying my hardest to hold up my end of the group as to not let everyone else down. Sometimes it seems more important to not let down others rather than myself as I have done the latter countless times. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same.

                                Todd, I like your idea about the challenges. I haven't done any of those yet. Which ones have you done? How do they work?

                                Bekka how did your day go? I hope well.
