Must be something in the Weather causing us all to turn weak! I agree Todd, there is nothing we can do now but to pick right back up where we left off. Did you decide to weigh in on Tuesday? Good luck the rest of the day.

Re: Week of Nov 12 Atkinites

Milky Way was invented by the devil. I just ate a big handful of mini candy bars and, though the craving was intense, the flavor was just mediocre... darn this sugar addiction! I mean, I don't even feel sated, just disappointed. If I'm going to cheat, at least I'd like it to be worth it. I kept eating them waiting for that "high" to kick in and it never did. But... maybe that's a good thing? I mean, maybe my body is starting to prefer REAL FOOD to the garbage I've been dumping into it all these years...?

Anyway, I'm going to have to chalk this up as yet another learning experience. I will not get down on myself for this - I will pick myself up and move forward instead of my usual wallowing in self-pity and medicating my sadness with more and more and more garbage.

BTW - I started Induction 11/13 and someone told me to come and check out this thread so here I am. We can do this, you guys! We have all the tools we need right here with FREE COUNSELING and guidance. What an awesome website!

Good luck to you all, I'll keep you posted on my ups and downs too.

Glad your hear Christie, I completely understand how you feel with those Milky Bars, tools of the devil no doubt. This little group has been a real encouragement to me and I think to others who are using it. We are going to post are scale results on Tuesady so if you want to do that with us your welcome to. I am hoping some of the old time ADBB will stop in here on Tuesday as I have a feeling several of us are going to need some extra encouragement that day. What is your menu for tomorrow going to be?

          Breakfast

4 slices of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs (3 carbs)

          Lunch

2 cups salad with v/o with slices of ham. 1/3rd of a cucumber (6 carbs)

          Supper

Salmon Casserole Atkins style (6 carbs)

          Snacks available

1 pickle, 3 hard boiled eggs (4 carbs)

          Total Carbs=19

Re: Week of Nov 12 Atkinites

I have a serious question for everyone here to start thinking about before hand, and that is what are you planning to do for thanksgiving? The operative word here is "plan." How are you going to stay in ketosis on thanksgiving day? How are you going to stay accountable to the atkins plan, or are you going to go ahead and eat dressing that day? Its going to be tough for some of us to pass up dressing. Dressing is one of my all time favorite meals.... How are you going to plan ahead? I just thought I would throw some accountability questions out there to get you thinking. Me? Well there is a likely possibility i will not be celebrating thanksgiving. I know it would be tough if my family did cook and i turned it down, to be honest i dont know if i could. We are being honest here So, on that note maybe some people will come along who are pro's at this will tell us what they are going to do on thanksgiving., please! lol....

Re: Week of Nov 12 Atkinites

Nothing gets me going like grandmas old sweet potatoes with the marshmellows and brown sugar galore. A side of stuffing sounds great as well. It will be a tough day here no doubt. I hadn't really thought about "skipping" Thanksgiving and as bad as it sounds it may be the best option. Hmmm, there would be **** to pay but I think it would be worth it. In fact, I know it would. Perhaps I could meet up after they ate. My wife and babe are out of town taking care of her pregnant sister and without any moral support I WILL cave. There is no doubt about it. How do you explain something like this though to your extended family. Can't remember the last time I wasn't sitting around on cloud nine with a carb buzz while watching the Lions get waxed on Turkey Day. Thanks for bringing this up but I really thank you might be on to something here. We are trying to drastically change our lives not only for ourselves but for are families as well. If we were in rehab for drug abuse or alcoholism would they let us out that day for a quick binge before we went back to treatment? For most of us, this is no different. Refined Carbs have literally owned and directed my life for the last 10 years or so. No more, I want out of the cycle and away from my addiction and I think skipping Thanksgiving may be the way to keep truckin.

                  About Thanksgiving:
Let's ask some veteran Atkineers to tell us what they're planning to do on that most tempting of holidays...
I'm going to post this very question on the main forum (if it hasn't already been posted).

Re: Week of Nov 12 Atkinites

yes that is going to be an interesting question. Just like me to re-start induction the week of thanksgiving. I already have a turkey and my friends are going to smoke it for me. I am going to be at her house. I plan on eating on the vegatables and I am going to take caulflour salad. Same as potato salad except I am going to make it will caulflour. what is going to be hard is not eating any pie and cranberry sauce. It isn't thanksgiving with out cranberry sauce. i wonder if I don't eat no carbs that day and let one spoon full of cranberry sauce be my whole carb for that day. any suggestions? I am really going to need yall. I know we can get though this one day. If I can just get through this dayI will be a-okay.

I had a cheescake from o-charleis - full of sugar... and I feel like crap.. physically. I did not know that carb./sugar was making me feel so crummy. I hate that I ate it. I was going for the last carb but that was not worth it. feels like you throw all your efforts away. Not again. I am loosing this low carb lifestyle and it is not half as bad as I thought it would be. I am not trading this way of living for nothing.

                    good night all

Re: Week of Nov 12 Atkinites

Ooh, very interesting question. I am working the whole day on Thanksgiving, so that will keep me from giving in to any temptation whatsoever. Also, my family follows Atkin's so, I don't think I will have a problem in that department. I just gotta stay strong and not give in to any temptation.

I was very strong today. Someone had brought cupcakes to work, really cute, they looked like turkey's. And I eyed them, but I told myself no a bunch of times and I resisted the temptation. Someone offered me some cake and I said no thank you!! Yay for willpower and saying no. I totally rock. I don't know if there is a challenge on consecutive cheatfree days, but if there is, I am so joining one, or making one if there isn't. That will keep me motivated even more.

How are you guys all doing today? It's been uberly long and I have had so much energy and I've been in a good mood too. The thing is, I forgot to take my meds this morning and I wasn't pissed off once today!! Isn't that amazing. I'm proud of myself. Teehee.

                              Good morning everyone.

I MADE IT! I made it through my 1st weekend, without cheating! The weekends are especially hard for me because they are so much about eating with my family and friends. It aslo helped that my weigh in was on Sunday so I was really anxious to see some results (5 lbs! YAY!). However the hard part is coming up, not only is it Thanksgiving on Thursday but its also my birthday. I don't know if I will be able to resist. I'm having dinner with my friends the night before and I'm not too worried about that, i can just order steak n veggies or chicken, but they also like to drink, so thats my weak spot.

So I still dont have a plan for THanksgiving and the worse part is that i dont really think I want one! Help!!
