    I'm gonna have to break down - is it unsweetened baking cocoa, like powder?

      I bought Unsweetened natural cocoa. Yes, it is a powder. 1 tbsp is 3 g of carbs. When you mix it all up though, it's pretty thick, so you might add a little extra cream to loosen it up a bit. I probably put a little over a tbsp of cream.

        I'm getting a late start with Induction but I'd love to post if I'm not too late for this thread. I plan to go back to square one tomorrow. I am ready to hit my weight loss goal once and for all. I am so close now.

        I wish everyone the very best at reaching your individual goals. It just feels so good to be around other people who truly understand Atkins and this WOE.

              Howdy everybody, happy Valentine's day! There's so much to respond to this morning. Sounds like you guys are doing great. But some people are missing. Hey, if you're having trouble, check in! I have not done a totally clean induction yet in 5 days, but yesterday I finally gave up my 4 oz. of yogurt, ate a lot less salami, and finally some veggies, and now I'm in ketosis! Just keep following the plan. Don't give up.

              I'm learning that I suck at meal planning. I always have, although I am a decent cook. Waiting until the last minute is not a workable lifestyle, not in any part of life, so why do I think it's ok for what I put in my body?

              The suggestions for recipes and crock pot cooking and bulk-cutting veggies and bagging stuff up has been really helpful. I'm starting to think about dinner before 5:00 pm, which is what I used to do.

                  Ok folks, I just successfully completed 21 minutes on the elliptical. My initial goal was 15 minutes. I'm doing it...one day at a time! We all are. Hang in there everyone!

                    Well, another day down! I tested my strips again and I'm not drinking enough water so that's on the agenda AGAIN tomorrow. I also need to get into the swing of exercising. As Atkin's said, its NOT negotiable! ;-)

                    Made some quiche muffins tonight to nab for easy meals.. one with pepperoni, another with ground beef, the rest with bacon etc. About 3.2 carbs a piece. I overcooked them, though, a little... burnt? Or whatever an overdone egg is. But still edible - but I think the next batch will be MUCH tastier!

                      Well, today was interesting! Even though I don't want to cheat...I think my body wants me to LOL! Hubby took me to Ikea to get my valentines gift and we decided to eat there. I had a salad with olive oil/salt/pepper and grilled chicken. I also had some steamed veggies UNTIL I realized it had carrots and snow peas in it! OMG I thought I was going to scream! I thought because they were steamed veggies that it was great...well I totally forgot about actually LOOKING at what was in it I think I'm losing my brain as well as weight

                          Happy Valenine's Day Everyone!!
                          I haven't checked-in for a while, wow....I've missed out on lots!
                          Here's whats going on with me......I weighed in this morning at 140lbs!! Woot Woot!! That's a total loss so far of 12lbs. I didn't get my exercise in today, like I wanted to. But I feel great! I'm not using the ketostix, but I know I'm in ketosis because of my EXTREME LACK OF HUNGER. I'm a little worried that I'm not eating enough. I am making sure to eat something every six hours, but I'm just eating light snacks.
                          Today I had:
                          bkfst: one boiled egg & tbs. mayo, cup of coffee w/heavy cream & 2 splenda.
                          Lunch: 3 slim jims
                          dinner: 1/2 cup broccoli w/cheese sauce & deli sliced roast beef dipped in au jus topped with melted pepperjack cheese.
                          snack: 1 slim jim

                          lots of water.

                          anyone else struggling with appetite suppression?

                            Your starting weight is less than my goal weight. If you want, you can take my 5 pound weight loss and trade me for your 170 pound body.

                            Also, I did the math and you've lost 1.7% of your body weight and I've lost 2.0%. So really, you're not that much further behind than others. (I know you're not comparing your loss to mine, but I only had my numbers handy. You get the point though!)

                            One more... if you lost 1.2lbs per week for a year, you'd be down 62.4 pounds, and would probably be committed for anorexia, or dead.

                            So REALLY... you're doing GREAT!!

                              Welcome Dez, and congrats Kristi on 21 minutes!!!! I have yet to do any form of exercise, so I commend you for coming out of the gate blazing like that.

                              I'm with ya on this one, for sure. I've been good this week about cooking, but now that it's Friday, I'm realizing that all of my groceries are gone. The meals that I am making only have leftovers for lunch the next day, so even though I'm cooking up a storm, I still have to plan in advance at all times.

                              I think it's funny that this is my complaint though. I feel like housewives, or our mothers, or anyone who already cooks regularly is probably laughing at that, like "well DUH!". But it's hard to do if you're not used to it! I'm definitely a girl of convenience foods, so planning ahead is not a natural thing for me.

                              Speaking of which... I need to see if there's anything left in my freezer, otherwise I think I'll pick up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store on my way home tonight. Yummm, actually I just convinced myself that that's what I'll do!

                                Rotisserie chicken! That's a great idea. I'll have to go to a different store, but what the heck. Yeah, I only have 2 raw eggs left. Planning takes getting used to ... and yeah... the people who already do this all the time must be like, "what's the big deal?" I guess rotissere chicken could be like Atkins fast food, though... Ha ha ha... but better than a burger with the bun ripped off!
