    Re: Induction Buddies?

good morning and happy valentines day to my atkins family.

i come to shamefully admit that i, AGAIN fell off the wagon last night.
    ugh.
im here for a shoulder to cry on.
i did good all day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) then later in the evening around 730pm....all **** broke loose! i went on a hunger fit. and i was starving for carbs and sugar. i even went to the fridge and ate some cucumbers and lettuce, then some premade tuna...didnt do the trick. it wasnt until i scarfed down some banana nut muffinettes and some ice cream and a burger that i was satisfied......
    dog-on-it!!!!
i just knew that i would weigh an additional 5-7 lbs this morning. i felt like and overstuffed amazon.

to my surprise i was only 1.5 lbs heavier.
my disadvantage is that i am on prednisone so that in itself is like fighting an uphill battle with that. prednisone in itself makes one gain weight, raises insulin levels, and increases appetite by nature. so with taking that...no matter how hard i try to eat right and focus...its like a demon riding my back!
    **sobbing**
i have an appt with dr on the 24th. i am praying to be able to begin the weaning process off of prednisone (the evil pill). i will keep you guys posted.

so....once again, today, i am back on the wagon, saddled up, determined again....

Can I join too? I'm on day 4 of induction. Really feeling the induction flu now. Haven't lost any weight either. Feel tired, drained, muscles sore. Hope this passes soon. Look forward to participating here.

            Re: Induction Buddies?

Mrsdmw - Ugh, I've been there before! *comfort hugs* It's happened to me sooo many times. The last time I tried to be good on Atkins was when I was craving something sweet, it didn't matter what. And then I saw 3 bananas on the counter that were just to the point to where they were so ripe they didn't look like they'd be anyhting but mush in a few days.

So I made a smoothie with them because I figured my mom would drink it.

            Then I took a sip.

            Then I took two.

And before I knew it I had scarfed the whole thing down and was tearing throught the cabinents to find anything else sweet. My excuse was "I might as well eat it all now, so I won't be tempted by it tomorrow."

HOPEFULLY my will be stronger this time and I won't sabotage myself by putting such a foolish temptation right in front of me when I was feeling weak :P

Haha yeah we're all here for each other, regardless if it's on this particular forum topic or not

                  Goodmorning fellow induction buddies!

Today I'm going to try to make cucumber nachos

Incase it's not on this site:

Slice cucumbers VERY thin & spread them out on a plate

Take a salsa of your choice, homemade or no, strain it to remove extra fluids and please a teaspon on top of each cucumber.

Take some cheese and spread it over lightly each cucumber and melt the cheese on there (I personally will just turn my oven up to broil and stick it in there for a quicky)

Put a dab of sour cream on there (or not) and enjoy ;D

Happy snacking and have a fun atkins day! BE GOOD

                    Re: Induction Buddies?

                    I'm in!

On day 9 but didn't do it correctly. Too much jello and whipping cream. Then I went out drinking one night without fully understanding (thought since there were no carbs in vodka-soda that I was ok).

Haven't been losing weight but I'm back in ketosis.

For lunch today I got a slice of peperroni pizza and pulled off the cheese. Awesome! Probably got a couple cabs but stuck crust but I couldnt see any.

Have recently discover flax seeds and will be looking for ways to use. Thanks for posting the flax cookie Mark!

                      Re: Induction Buddies?

Here and keep screwing up. I have decided the next time my bf decides he is gonna have a good time trying to break my mind set on not eating carbs I am so gonna slap him. lol Why do people think its FUN to do that crap. I told him if he does it again he is moving. He is not the only person doing this though. My friends from work do this same thing to me too and 1 family member too. I know it is my decision but I would rather screw up on my own instead of having other people pushing things on me like drug dealers. I mean sheesh.

I can not do what I need to do and be me with ppl in the background not being supportive but instead destructive. It just makes me wondering what other things they would all try if I needed to make some other lifestyle change. I am very close to telling them all if they can not support me then they can get out of my life. I can do better on my own.

                        Re: Induction Buddies?

Oh Mirya! I know your pain! I know it so well!

                        I'll tell you what.

When I was on Atkins for the second time around, my friend Jessica LITERALLY waved a cookie in front of my face and said, "Look what I'M EATING!" -.- I could have strangled her right then and there! Not to mention ALL the times my friends have been like, "OMG Sharon MMMM taste this - It's DELICIOUS! - What? OH COME ON! ONE BITE WON'T HURT!!!!" XDDDDDD

BUt that's not even the worst of it! My FATHER brings me dinner sometimes, and because he's noticed I'm trying to lose weight, he starts bringing me healthy food. And guess what that healthy food is? Subway. xD Last night it was a Vegan pizza O_o (although he clearly knows that I'm not a vegan xD). I always feel so bad when he does this, because he does NOT know how to shop for someone on atkins xD BElieve me, I've had previous experiences when I used to live with himand I'd ask him to get me something. I've taken to just tossing the bread and eating the vegetables instead just so it wont' go to waste. xD

You're not the only one, sweetie. I'm sure at this point it's past trying to talk to them. You just have to remain strong, and do what you said - tell them that this is IMPORTANT to you, not only to your HEALTH, but as your SELF ESTEEM AS A PERSON!!! Tell them if they can't respect that, then they aren't respecting yourself and they obviously do not feel that you deserve to have peace in mind about your body image - and then tell them they either need to be supportive or get out. HOPEFULLY it doesn't come down to that, but this is simply too important to be sabotaged by the people who are supposed to love you the most.

Started yesterday, 2/18/09. So far so good. I already seem to have a little bit of extra energy, but I find I'm a little bit moody yesterday and today. I hope that goes away soon.

Good luck to all. We will do this!

                                Oh no!

What about body measurements? Have you lost any inches? Do you feel like you're at least more energized, less tired, feeling healthier? Post your daily intakes of food in the atkins main forum... maybe you ate something / ate too much of a certain thing that older members can spot to be a problem maker.
