Re: Has anyone just eaten butter alone?

I wouldn't say that soy sauce is 100% "illegal" ... it's a condiment and one doesn't generally use very much. Same with worchestershire sauce. I know people that can't use worchestershire ... and for many, it's not been a problem. What I don't like about it is the HFCS. However, I only use it when I marinate steaks and when I make brisket, so ... it's not been a deal breaker so far.

For what it's worth, recipes in DANDR used worchestershire sauce.

The question was what in soy sauce that wasn't Atkins friendly!

Here's a recipe for make your own Worcestershire:

      Low Carb Worcestershire Sauce

      2 tablespoons water
      1 tablespoon brown sugar twin
      1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
      1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
      1/4 teaspoon onion powder
      1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
      1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
      1/8 teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir thoroughly.

          According to Maxima's bottle
          Wheat and soybeans
Perfectly Atkins-friendly once at OWL rung 9 but not particularly induction-friendly I would think.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

careful of soy thats not properly fermented though
            Welcome to Soy Online Service

in western society alot of the soy is not even fermented... but also alot of the soy in western society is rush fermented so it does not get all the toxins out

anyways i eat butter plain too as a snack and or eat it with Cod liver oil seems to give me a good energy boost through out the day also eggs are great too

also when i cook broccoli i use ALOT of butter broccoli flowers seem to absorb it all so you gotta use lots

but when ever i eat it plain or use alot of it i always use unsalted butter cause salted butter taste's gross plain and taste's gross in large amounts

There is nother quite as deliteful as a slice of slightly soft, salted butter. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I have taken a lot of dietary shortcuts in my life, 2 of which I have always refused, I don't eat Miracle Whip and I don't eat margarine, and anyone who thinks that "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" tastes like butter has dead tastebuds.

Not only will I eat butter alone... I'll eat it with company as well!

Anyone recall the commercials about the "Buttertons", I think I'm a direct descendent of the first Buttertons.

It doesn't matter what I'm cooking or fixing, if the butter is out, I'm gonna get a bite!

You've seen people eat crab legs and delicately dip the pieces in butter and eat it. Not me, I'll fix a small cup of melted butter and then load the cup with crab meat and let it marinade as I work for more. When I finally eat it, the cup will be empty of meat and butter.

Try grilling a turkey breast or roasting the whole turkey. Before you do make a marinade of melted butter, garlic and a touch of sea salt and inject it into several places on the meat to be cooked and then cook it.

While you are preparing the marinade, fell free to snack a little on the butter!

Oh yeah!! I have always loved to eat butter all by itself!!!!! If a person loves to cook food in butter, I don't see how it's even remotely disgusting to think about eating it alone. What a strange thought. Butter rocks, and you are so not alone!!!

I'm not sure... but it is worth a try....

I take like 1/2-3/4 of a stick of butter at room temperature, mix it with a few good squirts of spicy brown mustard, a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder... mix all together then I rub it on a whole chicken or 3-4 chicken legs or thighs, cover with alumminum foil and bake in the oven at 350-375F for about 40 minutes, uncover for about 10-15 more minutes to get a little crispy and brown... Not sure how it would work in a slow cooker, but I bet it would be very very delicious!!!
