Mark, are you using www.fitday.com to keep track of your percentages. Remember 65% fats, 30% protein, and 5% carbs. If you aren't using fitday be sure and open yourself a free account and use it.

Our bodies have to catchup when we lose. So be patient and just keep on course. You being male, young and determined gives you an advantage over us oldies and women. LOL

Have you measured yourself and written the numbers down. Sometimes when the scale say you haven't lost, the tape measure will prove to you that you have lost. Losing inches is another way of proof of your success.

So keep eating from the induction list.
Keep track with fitday.com(you can subtract the fiber carbs from the carb count)
    Exercise is a must!
Drink all your water, 8-8oz glasses per day, plus 1-8oz glass more for every 25 pounds you wish to lose.

If you will do all of this you will be one BIG LOSER before you know it.
    :hug Becky Sue :hug

Happy Low carbing!! Remember this is for life, if you want to keep the weight off you can never go back to the old way of eating.

I love my WOE! I can live this way for the rest of my life.

As fightingthefight suggested - for some of us it is counterproductive to weigh each day, and if it is going to upset you seeing the scale not budge from one day to the next it would be better to weigh once a week or fortnight.

We see many posts from people who start to think - well the scale is not moving so why should I bother to try sticking to Atkins? And before too long they either drop out of this board (and Atkins?) or post that they went off plan and are trying to get back on induction.

Personally I have found it a matter of interest to weigh in the morning and evening every day BUT when I see a gain of up to 7 pounds from morning to evening or when weighing at the same times during a week it doesn't worry me or make me doubt Atkins. I like seeing how my body reacts and stay on plan.

If you can do this too then go ahead and weigh yourself any time you want - but if you feel irritated or sad about these normal fluctuations then 'step away from the scale' :cop

There is a good sticky on the 14-day induction forum titled 'Weightloss is not linear' which everyone should read - it might help when your scales are on strike :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

good idea to measure yourself now. then later when your scale goes on strike you can see the inches disappear. If you don't measure now you won't know how far you have come.

So get that friendly tape measure out and measure and write it down for later reference. If you don't later you will wish you had.

Remember I am a grandma. Us, grandmas like to give advice. LOL

You are doing a fine job working your new WOE! I am so proud of you.
No one has to know your measurements, except YOU.

You may want to up your water intake a bit, that usually will peel off those pounds that somehow added on without a cheat.

:wave Hi. Just wanted to add that you can do it! I had lost 9 pounds within the first week, then a pound loss every day and then stalled when I had lost 14 pounds on the 14th day of Induction. I didn't get discouraged because I was still reading a dark purple on my ketosis stix. You will stall because your body is getting use to the changes to burning fat. It's glad to hear that you are not getting discouraged by no loss in a few days or even a pound or two gained. Try to weigh yourself at the same time weekly. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted! :hug

Keep in mind that when you add in exercise, or increase your current level of exercise there may be some initial weight gain. This is ok as muscle weighs more than fat. The scale will even back out and start dropping more quickly once your body gets used to the new level of physical activity. Keep up the great work!!! Can't wait to see pics of you in your TUX!!!!

Remeber, you are either in Ketosis, or you are not, there are no degrees. The color just judges the amount of ketones deposited in your urine.

Let me confuse the issue even further to add that you can be in ketosis, and NOT register on the ketostix...

                                lol Exactly Moochters!

I didn't want to add any confusion to that anymore than there already is surrounding it.

What sucks the most is sometimes you get post that say, "I am eating right, I am working out like crazy, the scale doesn't show a loss and I am hardly into ketosis. I hate this diet! even though I am down 3 sizes"
