Okay ... I can NOT seem to stay away from sugar alcohols! I blame my husband ... he works for a pharmacy and he thought he'd bring me some "sugar free - net 3 carbs" candy! Well ... I ate it!!!! Not gonna lie! So ... I blame HIM for bringing it home (and peanut butter/chocolate to boot) but, most of all, I blame myself for EATING IT!!!
Will sugar alcohols be the death of this diet for me? And ... with the world being full of sugar alcohols in so MANY things these days ... my question is: ARE THEY BETTER OR NOT THAN REGULAR CANDIES???? I mean, if eating sugar alcohols is so terrible ... then I should just pick up the regular sugar full candy, right??? Or, no?? The whole sugar alcohols thing really throws me for a loop with confusion.
I know they're NOT good and should be avoided ... but ... if they are "low glycemic" as they say they are ... are they killing this for me???
I'm going to chuck them into the garbage tonight!! But ... then, the one thing is this as well. BREAKFAST!!! I HATE mornings! I get up, get ready and get out the door in only enough time to do just that. I sleep in until the last possible minute, put it that way. So ... it's easy for me to grab a Atkins breakfast bar with 2 glasses of water and have that be my breakfast. Then, I move into a pre-lunch snack of egg salad on celery ... burned cheese on a plate ... cream cheese on celery ... beef sticks or something like those things. WATER ... Then, a good lunch with a red meat something with a big salad. Then, an afternoon snack of something as mentioned above ... WATER ... and a nice dinner with the other 1/2 of my daily veggies and a good meat product. WATER ... Then, ... with the sugar alcohols being in the picture ... I grab a piece of candy after dinner and call it "desert" and drink more water ...
And, something else I've been doing for the week is working away a serving of lightly salted (opposed to normally HEAVY SALTED) sunflower seeds. A whole little bag is only 2 carbs!! And, if you eat the whole bag, it can take a long time so ... it kills time. Then, after my last (96th ounce) of water, it's bedtime!
So ... UGH! I'm really doing bad with the sugar alcohols!!!! Please give me tough love so ... I feel bad enough to dump them for good. lol

What would we do without it?
...You are in control of you, not DH. You put those candies into your mouth. No it isn't easy to look those suckers in the face and say no, but if you want this bad enough, believe me, you can and you will. You ARE strong enough. You DO want this. That's why you said you're going to throw them away! You do want this for yourself, and GREAT job chucking them!!
