I made one of these yesterday. I added nutmeg and cinnamon. It is really good and satisfying.

the thought of eating raw eggs is gross...but then i have to think that I do love eggnog, I just have never made it before. And then there is raw eggs in the cookie dough and cake mix that I like to eat raw. I think i will try it. It will be something different.

Blended eggs, with milk, sweetener and vanilla with or without ice.

          That's no where near gross.

When I was in the Army (1975 to 78 ) I used to clear an entire table. All I had to do was sit down with a glass of apple juice, crack a couple of eggs into it, give it a stir and down she went. Before the drink was gone, the table I was at would be empty (except for me, of course) .

Your recipe looks yummy, I'm going to have to try it! Thanks.

To all who think that eating raw eggs is gross: they don't scramble 'em before they are added to ice cream. I'm just saying...

This is my favorite "treat." I went through a period where I had this every morning for breakfast, but I had to cut back as it puts a hurting on my sweetener and cream use for the entire day. It's delicious, but there are other tasty treats I like that need those two ingredients as well.

that is just too funny....apple juice with eggs. I still have not tried the egg nog, maybe tomorrow morning. eating "raw" just sound gross, but when I think about it, i eating "raw" eggs in a lot of things that I use to have..."use to have" the raw cooking and cake dough..but no eggs in the homemade ice cream...unless i was eating my grandmothers.
I am by no means a picky eating... i love sardines, gizzards, livers, tripe, anchovies. I will just about try anything....

I will be trying it. I just love my scrabble eggs with cheese also.

                Re: eggnog shake for breakfast!!!

I tried it, it wasn't too bad. I forgot the cream at first and it was a little odd to me and then I realized what I'd done and added some.

I'm not sure how often I'd want it , but I think it'll definately make it into the breakfast rotation.

Count me in as another convert! I added the ice cubes, and will try with a little spice tomorrow. I don't like eating first thing in the morning, and was also dubious about the raw eggs, but this was tasty, filling and didn't 'feel' like having breakfast! Thanks Guys xx

Could this not be used for the 14 day induction phase? If the splenda and vanilla essence is removed? Or is that what brings in the taste?

The foods that are 'legal' for your first 14 days on induction are exactly the same as for any extra time you decide to stay on induction, so, yes, this recipe (assuming you add no non-induction extras) would be fine if you wanted to 'drink' a meal instead of eating it.

But try to get some vegetable carbs into each meal if you can.

And remember we are allowed up to 3 servings of sweetened foods and/or drinks on Atkins, no matter which phase.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

You don't have to remove them, both are legal on induction. I don't know if it's just me or not but I've found I lose weight better when I include a shake, usually for dinner. Maybe it processes through better than a salad and meat at the end of the day. I don't know but I didn't drink shakes for 3 weeks and I was almost at a stand still for those 3 weeks. Added a dinner shake in a couple days ago and have started losing again.

4.30 am?? ouch thats a little early isn't it, how do you go on with the pre work workouts, I came across a little idea of something similar but quickly dismissed it, I don't think i'd personally be able to do it, leaving it to the evening instead, What time do you get to bed at on a night to be up so early if you don't mind me asking...

Although I like the taste of this eggnog, the hard part of "doing a shake" for breakfast is missing out on carbs. I need to find a way to get my veggies in too...

The other day my work schedule got changed at the eleventh hour and I found myself with no time for breakfast so I threw together a shake (forgot the splenda - yuck!) to choke down and made a flax seed minute muffin. Coupled with a quart of water it did hold me over.

To make matters worse, I missed lunch and had the worse headache that evening. Even after having a big green salad.

I don't do shakes of any kind (prefer to eat my meals ) but maybe adding some purééd pumpkin or rhubarb would do it?
