  • I forgot to mention something that is sort of making me mad. A co-worker asked me if I saw a girl that I work with this morning. I told her briefly. She told me the dress that this girl is wearing is really making her look thin. The girl is on South Beach Diet and has lost almost 20 lbs. in 2 months. I don't know why she told me this. Maybe i'm just being very PMS this morning. Grrrrr.

    • Hello everyone. I just joined this forum and am going to start the diet tomorrow. I have purchased THE book and should be getting it in the mail soon.

      In the past few years I have not been successful following any of the diets that I've tried. I'm hoping this will work. I need it to work. I'm so tired of waking up every morning with the intention of sticking to a diet and going to sleep every night frustrated with myself because I didn't follow it. I've had enough!

              • It's almost 3:30 and i'm doing great. I've stuck to Atkins, kept my fitday journal, walked 2 miles at lunch in the 90 degree heat, and haven't had any bad cravings today. I'm getting the induction headache though. I will welcome it for another 2 days. It will be worth it! Forgot to mention i'm drinking my water too!

                    Shelly, your doing great!! Well done, I hope that day 3 went ok and that you have stayed in keytosis!! Have your hunger levels decreased? How are you feeling, I’m so pleased for you. Keep up the good work.

                    Kick started, well done. Mother Nature is great in the way she tells us to look after ourselves. Bootcamp was a good experience for us, it left us with the essential drive and tools for self improvement, I always reflect back to it. I find it was a real hook for me, when we graduated I felt quite detached, as if this WOE was done with.
                    Hows the headache doing? drink that water and take your Vits!

                    Your feelings about the girls on the south beach diet is understandable, PMS and Induction has the ability to make you feel quite overwhelmed with emotions, irritability and unexplained feelings, quite out of the ordinary at times. Focus on the positive, feel pleased for her, pay her a compliment, you know how nice it is to be noticed when your losing weight. It’s empowering for her and it’s good for you too.

                    Wow ravenfan, you a lucky gal…binge and lost weight, I’d take that too!! Well done for day 1 cheat free, keep yourself on track, no cheating. Feel free to ramble, it’s what we are here for.


                    I’m doing OK, cheat free and attempted to move to OWL but have gone back to induction as my system got a little upset as I went back into hospital for a little bit of surgery to redo some stitches. I felt so rough that I only drank fluids for 4 days, came out of keytosis as a result of the meds.

                    I’ve made of second goal but a bit out of wack at the moment, now I’m back at home I feel hungry, hope keytosis will kick in and get this hunger to move on!!

                    • Hi there. Day 1 back on Atkins went o.k. for me. I stayed under the 20 carbs, but I did have some strawberries last night. They are all gone now so I don't have to worry about having them tonight. I weighed in this morning and i'm down 1.5 lbs. from where I was the other day. It was probably all the salt that I had in the crappy food. But there was still a gain regardless. I felt much better last night and this morning. Carbs really does make me feel like crap. I hope that everyone has a good day!

                        good to hear that everything is going good with you sally. I am so doing awesome. I am three days cheat free, working on day four. I tested yesterday and i am at the highest level on the ketosis level. There is no way im gonna lose track again. Since i got back into ketosis on tuesday i have gone from 181 to 175.4. Im like :yikes so awesome. I know its mostely water but it still feels good. I think one of the reasons i might have been retaining water before was because i was hardley drinking any water. just with meals. so i started drinking from my measuring water bottle from walmart. I think that is what has been helping me. I have also been sticking to working out. I think that has helps the most. I do 3-4 miles a day Mon-Thurs and fri-sun i do 4miles. I think i have stuck to the exercise because i am doing the 6 week exercise challenge. They are signing up for Challenge#18 already you just have to go to the exercise challenge forum. I think it would be a good boost for any of you who wants to join. I am so freak out because today is the 19th and usually this is the time i start gaining and retaining water because TOM is gonna start sneaking around and you know what HA im not gaining or retaining water (Knock on wood). I am really hoping to be at 170-165 by the beginning of june. Really aiming for the 165 now for june 1st. Mabey i should not aim for a certain goal, i mean if i just stick to this way of eating my body will take its course. mabey when i set weight goals and dont reach them or if i gain mabey thats why i got off track for a while. hmmm. makes me think. ensive

Hope you dont mind me telling you this but yesterday i went and put on layaway a bunch of panties that are not cotton and i brought 2 home. They are so awesome. They are 77 nilon and 23 spandex. They make my jeans go on so smoothley not like my old cotton ones. I just cant wait to take the reast of layaway. Just wanted to share with someone.

                        • I love layaway. Did you go to Walmart?

                          So far, i'm doing really good today. For breakfast I had egg salad, and for snack I had a quarter of a pickle. For lunch i'm having turkey, 1/4 cup of broccoli/cauliflower blend, and cucumber slices. I'm not doing well with water today though. I'll have to really start drinking it.

                          Today it's around 95 degrees. I'm not going to walk at lunch time. Instead i'm going to walk tonight during my daughter's soccer practice.

                          • Vikski, why don't you move to OWL? I come on this board as see you guys struggling and it makes me think that A) Atkins isn't right for you, B) You're not 'there' yet psychologically to want to do this or C) you need to move to OWL.

                              I was thinking that as much as I love fruit, then I should move onto OWL. I think i'm bored with the induction foods, but really think that I need to try to get back on track by starting with phase 1 - induction.
                              I do love Atkins and feel much better. I think I need to add some other foods though. I don't want to move to OWL until I do a clean induction for two weeks though. I'm stubborn. I will do it though!
