I think it would be dangerous to "expect" to lose such an amount of weight on a regular basis Andrew.
However, if I wasn't averaging a pound a week after the induction, I would have a very hard time sticking to this diet as is required. I need the reward of a pound a week (over a month's time average) - there has to be that payoff to this.
But, I think it is very dangerous to expect to lose any more than what is really a lower standard or disappointment and maybe a trashing of the diet will follow. Andrew, what will happen if you suddenly slow way down to maybe five pounds a month? You need to consider this carefully. Will this make you decide at some point that it's not worth it?
An average of five pounds a month is 60 pounds in a year. Nothing to sneeze at and an enormous return on your investment and a guide for a healthy "eating" way of life.
This is my approach anyway and I hope it works out for me. Over expectation has always been my downfall.

With an average of 3-4 hours of hard physical exercise 5 days a week (80% cardio), I don't think it is all that far fetched to think 15lbs a month isn't doable.

I finished my phsyio about 3 months ago. I still get pains in my back from where the shrapnel got me but it's something I can work through. Doctor gave me a clean bill of health and gave me the go ahead, just said to be careful and to slow down if I get really bad pains.
so what are you doing as exercise with your extended induction?
have you plugged your foods into a tracker and your supplements so you can see what vits and/or minerals you are lacking eating just the 3 cups of veggies? even with an extra 5 net grams of veggies and an ounce of nuts I was potassium deficient doing my extended induction ( I used the 92 book) and had to take supplements for it my doc prescribed.
1h 30m at the gym. 15 cardio - 45 weight training - 30 cardio. Starting March 1st I start both my Muay Thai and Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. Muay Thai is 3 days a week 1h 30m with 1h of cardio prior to starting. BJJ is 3 days a week 1h 30m.
I haven't been tracking my food too be honest. I've been taking a multi-vitamin and vitamin C pills. I will start tracking it in March to see if anything gets low.

Actually, Andrew has stated that he doesn't like vegetables, so it is unlikely that he is even getting 3 cups.

it would be better to track it now cause you are already low based on what you are posting you eat and your supplements. I ate my veggies and took my VP like you but with the atkins eating being a natural diuretic and all the water drinking atkinseers just naturally wash lots of thsoe watersoluble vits and minerals our in their pee.
Andrew, I think as you get older (and you will!!) that the very foods you love now will be very hard for you to give up - as you will have to do when you get older. As we age, our metabolism slows way down - and dietary changes must be made if one is to keep the healthy weight desired. If you watch men in their 40's and older eat who are fit and lean, you will not see them eating much (if any) of your favorites. This eating style of yours will begin to affect you even in your 30's.
You will not always be at a point in our life where the intense, extended hard exercise you want to get to will any longer be desired or even be able to fit into your life. Without it, you might find that you have to change something else. If you don't, when that time comes, you will find yourself with a spiraling weight increase due to your diet. You might also find that because of all the new fat cells you have created, you will have a very difficult time eating your old way and being satisfied with the amount you will be limited to - those cells will want re-filling due to the type of foods you eat, not the amount.
As long as you really understand all of this and accept it, then if what you feel you are doing now is fine, then I wish you all the best! You know yourself better than anyone here and know what you can and cannot do -
I do suggest you re-read the Atkins 2002 book, it will refresh you on the science behind what the potatoes/ sugar included stuff (hot wings sauce for example) does to the body chemistry. Once in awhile I plan to do a total re-read myself - I suspect some of this stuff is easy to forget when thinking about the long term and a reminder will help me get my own personal thought process back to where it needs to be for me personally.
