Hey guys, I was just wondering if you lose the same amount of lbs in extended induction as you did in induction. During induction I lost about 16 lbs and lost over 2 inches. If I continue to extended induction, would I lose the same amount, or would it get lower. Lately, for the past half a week, I've hardly lost weight, I was 191 and today i'm about 188 (I never lost weight for half a week than overnight I jumped 2-3 lbs somehow).

They must have been very heavy!Originally posted by kline1972 View Posti have seen some men lose about 30 pounds in one month on induction. They also continued at almost 1 pound per day throughout.

Re: Extended Induction question
I didn't say there are none. However, it is extremely rare to lose a pound per day (the upper limit of what Dr. Atkins considered to be safe) for a whole month."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Extended Induction question
I've lost about the same. In my induction I lost 14lbs, the following 2 weeks during extended induction I lost 13lbs. Total of 27lbs in the first month (first month ended yesterday). This is without any exercise (well not much, played ball hockey a couple times).
I start at the gym this week, and I start Muay Thai/BJJ on March 1st (6 days a week). I plan on staying in induction till I am at my goal weight and expect to lose anywhere between 15-25lbs a month still.

Re: Extended Induction question
Well, the book says you can do it for up to 6 months without issue. I know most people are doing this as a way of life, I'm not too be honest. I will more or less go into certain OWL's at times (the nuts and dairy ones) but for the most part stick with the basics of induction. I know a lot of people will disagree with what I have planned, but if it works for me then it is good enough for me.

Andrew... at the risk of being a nag, I'd like to remind you once again: This is a support board for 2002 DANDR, and when members inquire about how to do the plan correctly, we are bound to giving advice based upon that.Originally posted by AndrewH View PostWell, the book says you can do it for up to 6 months without issue. If you feel inclined to post advice that is not in keeping with the mission of this board, please include the fact that what you are doing is modified from the approach this board supports, and that you are not taking this seriously as a lifestyle change (as you pointed out yourself, above) in each of your posts. It is the responsible thing to do. Yes, I am sure that there are members out there who change the rules... but most of them garner what they can from this board, without espousing that following the plan as outlined by Dr. A is not necessary.

Re: Extended Induction question
i believe the book says extended induction is fine- could be wrong-- but for some men like myself- extended induction is the only way for like 6 months- i have a very bad knee and i can't run on the weight i carry now- so my goal is to get the weight down as fast as possible through diet and then continue with owl and exercise-- but where is it that induction is not allowed for 6 months?
