Jimmie - whatever kind the headless chickens do...

Bob - me too. Well, the thought-provoking, well-reasoned and presented arguments, not the other stuff Glad to see you back.

..and Higgies - glad to see your back

Ok, I feel guilty enough to go do some isometrics. You'll laugh, but I ripped the butt out of my jeans last night. I guess that's part of the reason they're not considered workout attire.

Yanno, at times, I do have trouble staying motivated. But then, a quick trip to the refrigerator and a glance at my FAT pictures .. and then, my motivation is BACK!!

Nevermore nevermore. I refuse to EVER let myself look like that again.

hey Commander cuppy cake you can walk in those charity runs I walk all my races.
Good for you working out 2 days now woo hoo.

We have to decide for ourselves how active a life style we want and then adjust our Atkins carbintake to suit that. Dr Atkins taklkes about life style when he is talking about stalls er hesitations he calls them in chapter 15. I had to cut my carbs back cause i quit lifting in May. I miss the workouts and i actually drool over posts aboiut hitting thegym but I do get on my treadmill and walk as fast as i can at the highest incline I can as part of my HIIT so I don't become that 300+ pounder again.
the cold hard facts are 1 out of 10 folk who lose weight put it back on so you know this has to be a life long commitment.
Figure out a fun way to get your exercise as part of your life style. Yes running around the church Kitchen counts as long as you don't taste test every dish all day long. Sit on a fitness ball while you are on thecomputer and work your core mucles and so a few crunches while you are waiting for the journals to open. you'd be surprized how much passive exercise you can build in to your day if you just take the time to look.

Just wanted to say I really like this thread. Right now, I have no problem maintaining...but it's early days yet. I hit goal only three months ago. Am still pretty motivated, exercising every day, and all. But... am very aware that as time goes by things can pall and become routine. A year from now, I wonder where I'll be. Reckon it's likely that I'll need to remember some of the 'motivation booster tricks' you guys have mentioned. Reading all you longer-term-maintainers posts is very comforting and encouraging. Thank you all! You rock!

          Vive le Atkins!

                      Hey Guys!

Hi Jimime! Nope, didn't get to the gym today. I had to go to a couple clients and I just got home around 7PM. Hopefully I'll either go in the morning tomorow before work or get home at a reasonable hour and get in there! I should probably wake up early and go so I don't end up putting it off tomorrow evening. See? It's tough to keep it going...I had it easy when I was sitting at home all the time!

I hope everyone else is moving around...

laura, if it was kickboxing and lots of arm wrestling, yes, i would say it counts! lol

lunging laura is good for the night.

higgies, i sit here at the house, well, i do have things to do here, but i am around the house quite a bit and i still don't get things done. so you had the day for work and will get to it tomorrow. i'll hold you to that!

i promise promise to do my weights and legwork. i'll post when i get that done.
i think i'm hitting on something with myself. setting different goals. that seems to be it for me. it's like, i'm at goal, now what? so i guess i'll set a new goal. i am thining on this and when i have it formulated, i'll let you know.

The only workout for me so far this week was shoveling snow. Took me a day to recover. I guess I used muscles I haven't had to for a while. Tomorrow, back on schedule!

if people would quit posting i would get to fullfilling my promises faster!

remember you can exercise anywhere you dont got to go to the gym. do some isometric at yoyr desk. Chair pushups are great you can do cruchies by lifting yout legs up while you are on hold.
