    Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Hi to all, and hope you are having a good weekend. My plan for my last few lbs may be adjusting this weekend as I am UP a bit, nothing serious, but since I'm not actually TO goal yet, I may drop a level or a food group and see what happens. DH is gone til Tues night, so it would be a good time to do that.

    Hugs to all
    Denise

      Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Hi you guys ...spent last week in Canada ...fun fun.... but reality hits and so does my new shift today ...until I can not stand it anymore I am working long hour days Sat, Sun, Mon and Tuesday now in Urgent care ...bummer huh? oh well I have work I love so how can I complain?..and I have Wed, Thur and Fri off when the rest of the world is working ..so that is cool

Denise don't stress and try to keep moving forward...a guy that used to frequent this place and give me good advice when I was floating around my goal weight ...said to me one day .."just call it goal and you may still loose weight" so I picked a date and called it goal ..and go figure I lost more weight ...it is not a promise but I got so worried those last few pounds floating up and down around them ..and really no one noticed it but me.....so when I relaxed and embraced my new weight suddenly the pressure was off and I lost more than I planned...it is not a promise but it did work for me ..good luck with it

and yes something to look forward to is always good ... me it is this waterfall I want to put in my yard and trying to figure out how to get the money for it!!

Yep Denise, I'm with Heidi on this... don't stress the ups and downs of the scale until they become a real upward trend over a little time.

I have the pay version of fitday and it shows you a graph of your weight variations. Good to see trends over the weeks. Not sure if the regular fitday has the same options, but this is cool.

Heidi... glad you had fun in Canada! sorry it was back to reality with a bump, but as you say...having something nice to look forward to is a real beacon!

Thanks for your thoughts ladies. Was a very reactionary idea, and I'm sure you're right. Was never really sweating it, just kind of reacting...dumb. I love the way I'm eating now. And isn't the whole point to put together the WOE you can LIVE with? I think the last few will go away with the muscle tone and exercise, so that's the plan I'm sticking to. I feel SO great. I love the energy, the compliments, the stamina, the reward lingerie Hope you all are having a great week!

Was rewarded for not freaking out with a 1" loss on waist, .5" loss on bicep and .75" on butt. Yeah Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summer. I am so much more active than ever before, I love that the kids and I can run and play and have fun outside so much better than I ever had!

'Busy' is the word, Denise! Summer is our busy time of year (we work in tourism). Gimme spring and autumn any day!
                Hope yours is good though.

                  Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

I have been overwhelmed ..physically and emotionally traumatized and finally exhausted the past couple of months ...

but all things pass and that stuff did thank goodness!!!...now the outdoors and beautiful weather calls me when I am not working ...

I have taken on a new shift so my weekends are going to be Wed Thurs and Friday and that to me is perfect because while everyone else is working I can enjoy all the weekend fun stuff and avoid the crowds!...I realized there are very local hikes that I never knew existed so I am taking any free time I have to check them out! I am also pacing myself on working on this house ..it can be way too overwhelming..

My family bought me a GPS a while ago ...and it is so tricked out! WOW ..I now can wander off into the woods and as long as I put my car coordinates into this thing before I wander it will take me right back to where I started!!! it tells me how fast I walk and all kinds of cools stuff

I am so not a technogeek but I love this thing!!!

the only problem is I have to not stare at it while I am walking because I trip over stuff ...

I am still not stepping on the scales and figure if my clothing fits well then what is the big deal about knowing how much I weigh?

my diet was great until I ate 15 Oreo cookies the other night and a bowl of regular ice cream ..that was my first real "binge" in over 2 years (I think ) !!! I had no guilt and just got back to regular eating the next day ..no damage thank goodness....I slept like the dead that night ...a real carb coma...

I know that what I eat now is so wonderful ...so tasty and so good for me that I have no feeling of "missing out" when it comes to eating ...

that is it for me ..I hope all is well for you guys OOOXXX

Glad you survived and are through your traumatic time Heidi!

How cool to wander in the woods without fear of getting lost like Hansel and Gretel... are there wicked witches in your woods???? Maybe you need a stun gun as well! *chuckles.

And you could make good use of any leftover oreos in case your GPS runs out of battery by laying a trail from the car as you walk!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Need some fall off plan company? I ate half a donut on the weekend, was supposed to be one small bite, turned into about 5 LOL. It was a banana chocolate glazed cake donut and was worth every bite. I ate a small crab cake later, and a few meatballs in a very questionable sauce, though there wasn't much sauce.

Oh well, pick up where i left off, I guess this is what maintainance is all about. I'm a big believer that the odd treat will not force us to gain all of our weight back...as long as it doesn't turn into a month long binge.

                            Re: Need some Maintenance Friends

Wow, must be something in the water! I couldn't turn down canned cream cheese frosting. ??? I didn't even eat the cake, but couldn't stay away from the frosting!

I think I would have been OK CCCL wise, and it didn't cause cravings or anything, just a bit of bloating.

But then, I had planned pastrami sandwiches on pumpernickel for supper, and the bread wasn't going to last another day (kosher, and no preservatives, or sugar or white flour for that matter). So, now I'm WAY over the top.

I agree it probably won't cause any lasting damage though, and VOW to do my cardio workout after the kids are truly asleep (if they ever GET there) tonight.

                            Hugs to all

I just love you guys OOOXXX ...you know what? I have never had the "wow I find sweet things too sweet" happen to me ...when I have eaten sugary items they still tasted wonderful that completely sucks imho!!!! I still love sugar!!! and a banana donut with chocolat frosting ..wow glad we do not have those here!!!! I did not feel like a failure or want to batter myself ..I am glad that part is over ..I hope it is for you guys as well ..I think that is the self defeating feeling that leads to one binge after another ....when you punish yourself for having a moment....I am not going to say the word "cheat" I really hate that word!!! it is just a moment in time that passes...but I did have that dream!!! kind of like 20 years ago when I quit smoking I had smoking dreams for years...every now and then I have sugary dreams and after the Oreo's I had cookie dreams!!! thanks for sharing with me you guys are awesome!!!

I can not help but wonder ...I just returned from a week caring for my father and Oreo's were always his favorite packaged cookie he used to sneak me into the kitchen with him late in the evening when I was little...we would have them together while he told me stories...it was the only time we ever were alone together because he worked so much....there could be some kind of self nurturing issue there actually

Heidi, you are so special. If one day of oreos brings you closer to daddy, that's super news.

Off for the weekend. HOpe all are well (and hope I'm still as close to goal when I get back)
