Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Greetings, All
Wow, there's been a lot of activity here in the last few days! Cool.
Jo, don't worry about it if you can't read through the whole thread. I wish I could say that there are some magic pearls of wisdom in here that are guaranteed to turn you around, but there's not. Like Joy, I seem to always have something out of balance in the equation... if I'm eating well, my exercise sucks. When my exercise is good, my eating sucks. It's always something. And I've had to get over the 120 thing, too. I managed to stay there consistently for a couple of months early in the year, but I'm afraid those days are long gone. It takes a great deal of effort just to stay at 125 (that's naked, on my scale, which weighs me 4 pounds less than my doc's scale)
Q, I wish that I could say that my eating is always good. For the longest time, eating was SO easy for me. Really, it was a breeze! I was always satisfied, and never gave food a second thought. Oh, how times have changed. I have still never eaten a single food that is off-plan, but I do have portion control issues at times, and am sick of a lot of the food that I used to love. So I'm thinking a lot more about food lately, and that sucks.
Monie, I think it's great that you are searching out recipes now for the upcoming holidays. Really, they will be here before you know it. Once August ends, it seems like the end of the year comes really quickly. You'll be prepared. Smart!
Heidi, I hope that you get to the point where you can resist DH's junk. Thankfully, I don't really have a problem passing on Barry's stuff. And it's a good thing, because I'd be in trouble otherwise. He doesn't eat very much food at all overall, but he does like something sweet every night. He got on the scale a few minutes ago, and fully clothed with shoes, just after finishing dinner, he only weighs 135.
It's so not fair.
Yep, it's just not fair.
Time to put on my big girl panties, and deal with it.

I still can't go without them entirely, but I have certainly cut back. They definitely do have the potential to ignite cravings, that's for sure.
