so if one did not eat induction at 20 then one does not go to 25 for week one of OWL level one. 5 more grams per level is what he says
Yep, that's the way I read it also. It would be foolish to assume that he means 20g and only 20g simply because there are those who can not consume even 20g.

It is just a number, I am moving forward with the 'idea' of the ladder, I feel good doing so, if not in part because my net carbs are so low...it will be a much slower progression than most have experienced, but a progression.

No...I love pumpkin but have not even thought of adding it. Long, long time before I'm there...I have to look at the list to see where pumpking fits.

              Induction and OWL1 acceptable foods...

Have "some" iceburg lettuce to curb your cravings, and since it's legal, forget about it afterwards. Then, enjoy some beans, summer squash, tomato, kale, and of course the deliciousness of broccoli.

                Mutantmom,

You really need to read chapter 11 of your 2002 DANDR.

This belief that Induction friendly foods are a long way off isn't helping you!

I'm only on chapter 3, I work daily and can't read all day long, I will get there soon. However, I am limiting my carb intake much more than most on purpose. Pumpkin is one of the foods listed outside of the salad vegetable list, which I am not even considering right now. I am going to add the salad vegetables slowly until I'm comfortable with what I am eating and have a need to add more varied veggies (outside of the salad vegetables list) this will take time, will take several weeks because I am adding one food weekly, sticking with that one food and moving to the next. I was eating clean based on the new book and took off and put back on the same few lbs within two weeks...so I am eating as clean as possible and adding foods slowly, so far so good, I've only lost since beginning...I'm not exactly sure why you think my thought process is not helping me? I'm losing, I'm eating clean and I'm happy...no complaints here.

What do you mean by that?

Pumpkin is one of the vegetables on the Acceptable Foods List for Induction.

You are correct; there are two lists that I am referring to

                      Salad Vegetables and Other Vegetables

I am only taking foods from the Salad vegetables list right now. Under Other Vegetables it states

"You can have one cup per day if salad does not exceed two cups--these vegetables are slightly higher in carbohydrate content than the salad vegetabels:"

One cup of any of the veggies listed is just a joke to me and not worth the extra effort, not to mention that I eat 3 cups of iceberg lettuce so I've surpassed the 2 cup allowance according to the book.

I would read Chapter 11 right now. Then go back and read the other chapters.

You're doing yourself a disservice by not knowing what it is you're trying to do.

3 cups of iceberg lettuce is a veritable nutritional wasteland. And it's certainly not getting "MOST" of your daily net carbs from Induction vegetables.
