Can you post a menu of what you eat in a day...make sure to specify quantities. Also how much water are you drinking. What are you stats (m/f, current weight, height...). What are you doing for exercise?

We need more information from you Azra. How old are you? How much are you looking to lose? Are you male or female? Maybe you can post a menu and we can see where you might be going wrong. Are you drinking enough water and eating enough carbs?

          Hi Azra here,

I am a female, age 31 years old. My height is 5.2", My weight is 65 kg and i am a size 14.

          My menu is:

Breaksfast = 2 scrambled egges with tea

Lunch = any sort of protein (fish, chicked #, meat) grilled or cooked over the hob (i do not like fried) with some veg such as cabbage, spinach, broad bean, leak, brussol sprout.

Dinner = same as above, different variety, sometimes sprinkled with either cheese or mayonase.

excersice i started with 45 min to 1 hour in the first week, now increase to 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours 6 days a week. doing treadmill, rowing machine, bike, strider sit ups and push ups.

i do drink water whenever i do excersice and whenever i eat food. maybe i think i should increase water?

thanks to all those who are here to support me.

Well, I had to go to an online conversion to figure out stones to pounds and I came up with you wanting to get to 125lbs roughly? So If I am figuring out correctly, you want to lose approx. 20lbs? If this is correct, you are having trouble because you don't have much to lose. I started this diet on Jan.3 and have only lost 3 lbs. I am wanting to lose around 25lbs myself, but will be happy with 20. Now, my husband on the other hand has already lost 18lbs <your 2 stone If I am correct> but he has around 100lbs to lose for a healthy weight. We are eating the same, so I am at the conclusing that I am feeding us correctly, and there is nothing wrong with our menu. I have lost inches, but not too many pounds. People say the last 10 lbs are the hardest to lose, and here we are STARTING at this low weight to lose. It will happen, but it will take us more time. I considered jumping on the Fat Fast as explained in DANDR, but realized I am not in that much of a hurry and I believe the way I am going about it is much healthier/safer. Don't be discouraged, as your menu looks fine to me. You may want to eat more fat, but other than that...patience

Re: Been on induction for 2 weeks and not lost anything

                    Hi Azra

A typical induction weight loss for someone who has not been 'dieting' previous to induction is 5%-10% of the total hoped-for weight in the first 14 days. So as Coitrina suggested you ought not to expect a big scale drop.

But by exercising and hopefully exchanging fat for muscle you might have lost say 3 pounds of fat and put on 3 pounds of muscle - making a net no-loss! This will show as an inches loss instead of a scales loss.

Are your clothes any looser? Muscle doesnt take up as much room as fat!! Extra muscle is good as it means you will burn more calories when exercising too.

Another factor can be how much water you have been drinking - at least 64 US fluid ounces plus maybe another 8 ounces as you havent a vast mountain to lose would be your recommended minimum. It's funny but the more water you drink the more water weight your body will feel able to lose, so if you are not getting your minimum in you might be retaining water so as not to dehydrate.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Been on induction for 2 weeks and not lost anything

AZRA........go to Fitday.com and plug in what your eating to get the right percentages...you should have 65% fat 30% protein and 5% carbs......if you still have a problem consider joining BootCamp!! You get so much help and support its a wonderful thing!!!! You should also drink an extra 8 oz of water for every 20lbs you want to lose. I drink over 140 oz of water a day but i only have 30lbs to lose. And with that much exercise WHOOO!!! You probably are losing weight but gaining muscle. You dont want to become a bodybuilder too quickly. Everyone if diffrent on who they out on muscle mass. I do 30 min at 4.5 mi an hour on treadmill or eliptical and little weight training and i have lost 12lbs in 3 weeks..... Now im on bootcamp. Maybe you should try cutting the exercise down a bit......were you bored when on induction with the foods????

Thanks To All Those Advising Me

                        hi azra here again,

thanks to all those who are supporting me and giving me the right type of advise.

although i have a few questions to ask:

                        1) Should i increase my fat, such as frying my food instead of grilling it and boiling it, and increase more cheese, mayo, and cream as i do not have these in my menu.? as i think i read somewhere it said the diet is based on more fat rather than protein.

                        2) Should i also increase more water, as i think i might be drinking less water? lack of water slows the metabollism when on this diet? is this true?

                        3) should i stop my excersice? i thought excercise helps you tone. plus with this diet you have so much extra energy, it just helps you burn it.

Like i mentioned before i did this diet 3 years ago and was the same weight as now. my aim was also the same, which i achieved within 1 and half months, however than i notices a big difference within the induction week.

Until you know what your percentages are it would be difficult to know.
Have you entered the foods into www.fitday.com to see what the percentages are?
If you do that and discover you are low in fat then add extra fatty foods to change them to more like the ideal - 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs.
There is a good sticky called 'how much fat' in this forum you should read to find out how to alter your ratios.
                            2) Should i also increase more water, as i think i might be drinking less water? lack of water slows the metabollism when on this diet? is this true?
How much water are you drinking now? you need to drink 64 US fluid ounces PLUS 8 extra ounces for every 25 pounds you want to lose.
