hi all, this is so embarrassing, I vow to never let myself get this big again.I am going to do extreem Atkins (no carbs at all) for 34 days, then after that I will slowly start to add healthy carbs. I am starting with 65% fat 35%protien 0carb,
and will lower the fat and up the protien% a little every week.
I am also going to use the ketostixs to monitor how much keto I am burning.
here are my before pictures I will have afters soon!.Lisa

You are starting on the right track but do you think it is wise to start with 0 carbs? You are going to need your 3 cups of green leafy veggies a day to help with WOE. You will have some good carbs in that which will only help you. Just a thought - I still wish you the best of luck. You will be surprised with the results.

Unless you are only eating meat, it will be impossible to eat 0 carbs. Eggs and cheese contain carbs. Also, not eating veggies will backfire on you. Do you have DANDR 2002? Dr. Atkins came up with the perfect plan and if you follow it you will see great results. Really, for the sake of your health and so you don't get bored and frustrated and give up, please, please, read DANDR and follow his plan. You will be very happy with the results.

I got mine from Rite Aid, you should be able to get them at any drug store. I looked around and didn't find any...so I asked the pharmacist and they said they could order it for me. It was about $16 USD.

Hi you're on the right track with the motivating/ambitious spirit that you possess. Keep the momentum going, sometimes thats all we need to get us to navigating toward our goal. Extreme is what a change calls for most times. I'm reading a book that I've been skimming for about 2 months now, (I skim my self-help books most times, because I need to stop, and let the info. sink in). I like to let you know there is nothing wrong with your method. Do what works for you, I agree with Lady, you will have some carbs which are inevitable with the cheese and eggs. Good Luck!! I believe you're on to something.

Good luck on your program. However, I must say, and it will be said to you all over this board--If you aren't eating your vegetables, you ARE NOT doing Atkins.

The Atkins program is NOT a NO carb plan, it's a low-carb plan. And the most restrictive phase of the program is only two weeks. After that you add back 5 grams of carbohydrate vegetables per day.

I may get some flack from someone else by saying this, but here's the deal: When you say you are doing "Atkins" when you are obviously NOT, it's what has given Atkins a bad name in the medical world and in the news and media!

Please, please read the book, read the stickies in this forum and follow the plan as the doctor intended. Not your version, or someone else's version, but Dr. Atkin's version. If you do, you'll lose weight, you'll feel great, and be set up to live a healthy thin life for years to come. If you don't, you are only setting yourself up for failure, and only contributing to the bad publicity this plan has unfairly gotten already.

Thankyou all for the supportive replys, I am doing the atkins plan just without the veges and cheese, I know there is a small amount of carbs in eggs, I have tyred this before and lost weight rather quickly 10 pounds in 7 days.
but I will not do it for more then about 3 weeks cuss it is very challenging.

Sweetie, you don't look that bad! I admire your ambition. Right now, I'm doing a 5 day meat and egg fast. I've found that I have a hard time getting into ketosis, so I decided to try it out. About 14 or so years ago, I noticed every time I ate sugar I would get a migraine, so I have been eating fairly low carb for years and I think it has affected how induction works for me. Maybe you should consider trying the 5 day meat and egg fast, and then slowly up your carbs by adding in just veggies at first, and then next cheese, and see if you continue to lose. Just a suggestion. 34 days, just seems like an awful long time to do as low of carbs as you're planning to do.

OK. Where are you going to get your fiber, if I may ask?? You are going to be a hurtin puppy with no veggies!! (Regardless if you call it doing Atkins or not, I couldn't care less what you call it) You better have something handy to remedy that constipation!! Veggies are so good for you and definitely serve a purpose!!

Sounds like your dedicated! I would say follow the plan and stay with 20 carbs a day, your body still needs them and you'll be amazed how quick you'll drop the pounds. Keep us posted.
