    You did excellent!! You should be proud of yourself. Maintenance is always very hard work. I have been there before and was okay until I had a major car accident. I just started re-reading Dr. Atkins book and he says that. He says that the underlying disease is still there and our bodies will always want to return to place where it feels genetically comfortable so we cannot let up. I used to say that I am at war with my body and I refuse to lose!! Good Job!!

      My first thought was NO WAY!! lol How amazing! What a difference. How proud you must feel! Although you were really successful with your own low-carb diet, I'm sticking to Dr. Atkin's plan.

            I am like you. I have to watch my calories and carbs. The mistake I made before was going strictly by the book and I gained 10 pounds. Unfortunatey some of us have unique needs. I can't eat cheese as well without gaining weight. I have tried it over and over and it just does me in. This time I modified my plan to watch my calories as well as my carbs and I have been losing. I am currently doing under 25 but I am still in induction. I hope to be able to get up to at least 40 and still lose. I was at 60 before coming back to induction and my hunger was out of control so I think 60 is to much for me. Some people don't have watch calories on Atkins to lose but there are a few of us that do. I keep my calorie intake to about 1200 as well.

              I am glad you are trying to find out which foods your body can cope with by looking at how it responds to them and adapting accordingly. Other members have found cheese is a 'staller' for them too so eat none of it at all - luckily it is one of the foods we are 'allowed' to eat rather than one we 'must' eat - like the 3 cups of vegetables
              When you climb the carbohydrate ladder again, who knows you may find your CCLL is higher this time so you dont feel you have to restrict your calories as well as your carbs.

                That would be wonderful. I hope you are right. It may be a matter of me just getting rid of the foods that I am sensitive to. I am already going down everyday on the scale and this always seemed impossible for me before and I am not hardly starving. I am literally eating more than I was before but none of the foods that have been identified as possible problems for some people. My guess is that I will find that I need to keep some types of cheeses and all grains and yeast out of my diet and I will be okay. The products I made with almond meal have not caused weight stalls so I wonder if that means peanuts or peanut butter is okay for me or are almonds different from peanuts?

                              it might be a good time to point out, since this thread seems to keep popping up that martamarta, the op of the thread has not been ressponding to the posts made in her thread. it would also be a good time to remind our other members, again, that although marta did have success doing low carb, she was not doing Atkins by the book. #5

                                I am amazed at the results!! You look great, way to go girl...such an inspiration On my 2nd day and I want to really stick with this program ...you are proof that it works.
