I have a question - I just started Atkins today and am trying to avoid all gluten, as i notice you do too. I'm just wondering if you find it difficult to keep your meals varied??
Rose--no, not at all! Atkins is a very "gluten-free-friendly" way of eating, especially the lower rungs. My biggest problem has been avoiding gluten in things it SHOULD NOT be in, like in condiments, dressings, lotion, on fruits, etc. (I recently found out that wheat paste is sprayed on some fruits as a preservative.)
Do you have a gluten intolerance, or just avoiding it to be healthier?
I think I have a wheat intolerance, but I haven't had it confirmed by a doctor. So I thought I would give the gluten-free a try to awhile to see if it makes me feel any better!
It's shocking how may products actually contain gluten!! :-(
Rose--isn't it scary! There is so much "junk" in food these days. It's a pain in the butt to avoid gluten, corn, dairy, soy...seems to be in EVERYTHING that is pre-made or prepared.
Is it just wheat, or is it gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats)?
I never was a big rye or barley eater, but I noticed that when I'd eat wheat, I had bad symptoms, and when I drank beer (made with barley) oh LORD what bloat and what a hangover! I thought originally it was a yeast problem (and it could have been) but then I realized later on that gluten food/drink were wreaking havoc on me, not sugar/yeast/mold.
Hey Julirama,First of all i would need to say again how wonderful u look...i wish!! I just want to say that people like you is what keeps me from cheating, slacking, keeps me working out, and comitted. When i want to nibble into my children's cinnamon buns i just log on and look at your pics, and many others who have had the same success. It really helps!I really hope i can do it! I am trying, but i want to try harder. I am currently on extended induction and excersising 1 hour everyday at home, because of course i have 2 toddlers and my husband works at night. So i really dont have the luxary to go to the gym. i would love your opinion if you dont mind actually who ever can help, i'm open to everyone's great advice:25 minute walk from work everyday, now i speed it up and make it a 15 minute walk. when i get home, i do 30 minutes dancing and 15 minutes statonary bike, 2 days a week i work out with resistance band? Now honestly...do you think that is enough?? what do you suggest?Could you tell me what is the best excersise? How long? Any secret tricks? (LOL) I will gladly appreciate it, thanks!!And again, you look stunning!! (Sorry for my text being all so close together for some reason my computer is acting up, i try to seperate them and use my space bars between paragraphs but it wont make the changes)
