Re: So , why are we so tough at ADBB about following Atkins to the letter?

I knew Betty and Allie on that "other" board. I have to say...at first, I really was turned off by their strictness. It hadn't "clicked" with me yet. As time went on, and I learned more and more about Atkins, and did research on low carb...what they were trying to get across REALLY made sense..and it finally clicked. I now have adapted their attitude and am so thankful for it. I LOVE this board because of it's no nonsense approach.

I don't poo poo anyone for coming on the board saying they cheated....but it's what they do next that does catch my attention. I have had off plan meals...so I can't say I'm totally cheat free...but for the most part-I've been on plan more than off plan. I got to goal by being strict with myself and the program and coming to the boards that really support that way of eating.

I humbly thank Betty and Allie for setting me straight and getting me to goal, by teaching me that there was just no other way to do it, but to do it.

Thank you Cleo for posting this....and how important it is to hear it. If someone has issues with the way ADBB is run...I can point them in the direction of a board that praises cheats...and where the population of the board has gained MORE weight this year than lost.

Thanks, Heather but your success is the reward for your diligence to this woe. I am in awe of what you have done!

Re: So , why are we so tough at ADBB about following Atkins to the letter?

There are some folks on this board that act really strict when they are posting here but its a different story when they post on other boards so don't let them scare you! They can tell you how to do Atkins to the letter and by the book, but they don't actually do it that way themselves ( at least when you guys aren't looking they don't!)

This board is susposed to be by the book, so those are the types of answers and responses you are going to get when you post here.

Cleo, your first post in this thread is the perfect synopsis of this board. I think it should go on the Portal page so every visitor reads it and understands the passion of ADBB!

I also think you are an uber moderator and representative of the forum. Keep up the great work!

I'm so glad to be back. I've been gone so long. Then reading this thread. It nearly brought me to tears to see the old attitude still alive and well. As I posted on another thread, one bite CAN derail you. And junk food is junk food...no matter how they package it.

And to see 2Big still active. They kicked you off?????????? I remember people getting REALLY offended when they were told "by the book", and it finally kind of put me off enough to leave. And then I fell off and ...yadda yadda bunch of boring junk...or as my son says, "long story sad ending". But I'm back, so it's not a sad ending.

I just really wanted to say...God, I love you guys. Don't ever stop preaching it. It's either Atkins or it's not.
                          Drink more water!
