Okay guys, let's all calm down. Forest has made his decision about his dietary plans during his vacation. He is aware of the side effects of breaking the diet and is willing to do it anyway.
I think we're wasting our time trying to convince him otherwise. He's made a decision...hopefully an informed decision...and that's that. He's willing to take responsibility for his decision. So let's not take this too personally.
Should you go back to Induction? It depends: how many carbs you consume daily and your carbohydrate losing level. If you're a lucky person, like 2Big and a couple of other ADBBers, you can eat well over 100 net carbs daily and lose weight. So a bagel wouldn't hurt your weight loss.
You're going to have to play it by ear and see what happens the morning of Day 6 when you weigh and measure.
People are also free to pm experienced members with potentially contentious questions, rather than deliberately stirring up a hornet's nest. Cuz ya know that's what's gonna happen.

Just an observation.
How am i stirring up a hornets nest by asking a legitimate question
people cheat all the time ( usually unplanned)
Should I just have waited till I came back and said
Since this thread will be read by other members, the below is for anyone planning on cheating and don't know or fully understand the ramifications of doing that. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...721#post506721
Be informed. Make your decision. Live with it. And don't make the excuse that you weren't warned or didn't know.

We are all here to support each other and you know what they say "friends don't let friends get a hypoglycemic insulin rush". lol
You look like a grown man to me, Forest, capable of making your own decisions. But the fact that you said "flame away" in your first post indicates to me that you knew there would be some hornet stirring going on. We just don't want anyone to think that it's fine to go around cheating and there will be no consequences. Hence my comment that you could have privately asked an experienced member what you should do. Have fun in New York. They have New York striploin steaks there too, right? lol

I hope others read it too. Because there are two things I can't stand.
1. Person cheats repeatedly on Atkins, then comes running back here crying to us that "Atkins doesn't work. And I followed it to a t. BUT I did eat a couple pieces of cake one night and I was eating a couple handfuls of popcorn on the weekends."
2. A person who thinks Induction is the entire Atkins diet and mistakenly believes that weight loss can only occur if one eats Induction level carbs and foods, who then goes and eats a bagel, continues to lose weight. Then comes back here to crow "NaaaNaaaNaaa! I'm smarter than Atkins because I was able to eat more than 20 carbs daily and still lose weight!!!!" Unfortunately, this poster doesn't realize that he just proved his ignorance of Atkins and he doesn't realize that he's proven it via a post.
So, one should do what one wants to do. The link is there for all to read and all responsibility lies, rightfully, on one person.
