  • Check in & Reporting Thread for All NEW YEARS Atkineers!

    It has been so nice "meeting" all you you who started on New Years Day 07, I though I would start a thread where you could all check in and talk about your successes and/or questions in one place.

    This would also be a great time for all of the "Lurkers" to come out and say Hi! It think you all have a great support system with many who started on the same day - lets take advantage of it!! You are all doing great and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!! - I'm very proud of you!!

        Feeling good. I haven't had a surge in energy yet, but hoping that comes soon. I have done this diet a few times before, and was quite successful both times, so I got an arsenal of tricks to get through a couple months of induction, lol. Both times, I got back to my highschool wrestling weight and kept it off for quite a while before major life events threw me back on the fast food train to early death. I know I'll dump it, I just hope I can continue it this time.

          I'm sure that energy surge is just around the corner! That is great that you know how to do this and it has been successful for you in the past. This time you can make it stick! Glad to see you are back, this is what motivates me, people know it works and even if they leave, I see them coming back. That is great!

              hi stella-

              this is a nice welcome thread. i actually started on 1/2/07, and am currently on Day 7 of induction. with the exception of some SF jello, i have been able to adhere to the induction rules. so far, i've lost 10 lbs. and the "flu symptoms are gone. checked again last night, and the ketostix strip is very dark purple. yay.

              i did atkins several yers ago (since it was so long ago, i'm not sure if qualify to be a STACer?), and lost about 40 lbs. this is the only diet that helps me lose weight AND reverse symptoms of PCOS. love it, and regret ever straying.

              commitment is a mindest and i believe i have it this time.

                Welcome Lulubell! Congratulations on the decision to come back. I think you definately can join the SATC club. Sounds like you are off and running and doing a fantastic job!! 10 LBS!!! That is AWESOME! You guys are just great!!

                    I'm on Day 8 and down 5.4 pounds! I'm sticking to an exercise plan and doing GREAT so far!

                            I started on 12/30, is that close enough? I've lost 3 pounds so far, but that's 10% of my goal, so I'm happy!!

                              hi, Im on day 6 now and my hunger pangs have definitely faded but my cravings havent yet, but i'm hopeful that will kick in soon. Im a little worried if im doing this right or not as im currently teaching in Seoul South Korea and the labels on everything are in korean, its so difficult to see what ingredients are and im sure im eating stuff with hidden sugars in it. I hope im not, im trying to be very careful by choosing good cuts of meat rather than stuff from the fridges. The fact that im no longer hungry every hour though is a good enough reason for me to stick with it, so maybe if im not hungry i'm doing something right?? Thanks for this post, its great to see other people who have started the same time as me, good luck to us all.
