  • Sauerkraut & Kielbasa?!? (sp)

Okay I had sauerkraut last night thinking I was safe but apparently I was wrong. I gained and it sucks big time. I measured the sauerkraut b/c it is cabbage, so only one cupp and then had some meat thinking I would be okay b/c I eat sausages and bratwurst all the time w/out any problems.

Has anyone else had a problem w/ this meal??

Sauerkraut is high in salt. So you might have over-salted yourself and retained water.

Also, check the kielbasa...some of them are high in carbs.

The only problem I've had w/ this meal is bloating.
I figure it's all the sodium?

I've never had an issue with sauerkraut, but I am very careful when buying kielbassa as megs mentioned they can be higer in carbs. I've only found one brand here that is low carb.

I love sauerkraut and eat it all the time without a prob. But sometimes too many sausages, weiners, pepperoni does make me retain water.

I've eaten it a few times (I LOVE IT!!!), and I've never had a problem. Maybe water like the others said.

Thank you so much you guys. I really think I screwed up that one. I didn't drink my normal 100oz and I never checked the ingredients which I ALWAYS do but I was super hungry so that's it.

So today was perfect so we will see

Thanks again, you guys are awesome.

I have had no problems with sauerkraut -- the one i use says NO CARBS on the packaging but i always count some anyways! Here is Australia i have not seen Kielbasa but i buy what i think would be similar -- A german sausage called Kransky.... very very low carb -- yum
