Working with Psychology Department.... all I can say is: When a person IS NOT READY... its basically useless to try and convince him/her... being in DENIAL, all the arguments are totally NOT HELPFUL. This is very sad indeed. But not much you can do about it.

In a way... we all know... you only can do Atkins when you are READY.

My husband is a producer.. He was wondering if you'd like to sell the rights to your story... It would make a perfect movie of the week for lifetime TV... Posthumously of course.

You have the inner strength to know the nasty, hurtful things your bf says and does are wrong. If you thought his behavior was okay you never would've shared it on this message board. You deserve to be happy and treated with respect. If someone truly cares about you, your past would not be affecting your daily life. It wouldn't even be an issue. Your daily life and future should be something to look forward to and not a constant reminder of the choices you made at a different point in your life.

You are entitled to be happy and living with your bf sounds like a nightmare. End the nightmare no matter how scared you are. The unknown can't be any worse than what you are living. If you don't take care of yourself, nobody else will.

maybe i'm being too cynical, because i tend to be a doubter, but i get the distinct impression that this whole thread is a put-on. all the stuff "cyberspacestar" described in that piece on page 6 is like textbook quality abusive interpersonal relationship verbatim.

i'm thinking maybe a teenage boy is typing this out, getting a real "kick" out of duping the nice people on this board.

my thoughts exactly lulubelle...that or else this is someone who is just milking people for their sympathy but will continue living in denial and putting up with crap for some strange reason.........i had checked out of this link but saw your post.....so now i am REALLY checking out...heading onto some threads where folks really wanna help themselves.
