    Re: Buddy List July 7-13

LOL...well there you go...mention it on this list and it gets done. That was one of our guardian angels watching over us here. Thanks Sunny! I WAS really giving hijacking it serious thought.

Boy I tell you...I think this house got hit by lightening or something. A week and a half ago one of the cordless phones went. No warning. But it won't recharge or anything. Then a week ago the other one went...started with a fuzzy line one night..by next morning it wasn't working. Phoned the phone company and it took them 4 days to get here. Had to change the batteries on the remote because they just stopped working. The cell wouldn't work for long distance if I was home. Before the phone company could get here the DVD player wouldn't work..even pushing power off wouldn't work. Resetting it did nothing. Had to take it apart and put it back together to make it work. Setting that back up and knocked something off the tv stand and it hit a wire that I can't figure out which one where because there are so many wires back there and it is so crowded. Now can't watch tv and play on puter at the same time. Have to use other tv. Phone guy comes last night after 5 and replaces line from post to house and all the wires inside. Now today the microwave went. And all day the new puter has been acting up and not letting this site load. I have been rebooting like crazy. What next??? LOL!

Val...yes...with some EVOO! I put a little garlic in the crust. And a tiny bit of pepper I think. I like your idea to pack a lunch for you. Also add some snacks. If they are already premeasured out you have no excuse for anything. Don't fee bad about doing stuff for you...it is not only you who benefits from it but your whole family. BF will get lucky more often...you have more patience for the kids when you are feeling better. More energy to do stuff with them and more energy to keep up with your schedule which a lot of us would crack under. So by putting yourself first you are really putting your family first which means it all sounds like a great idea to me!!

Monie....I am so sorry about your school friend!! That is so sad. And it hits so close to home when people die before they should. Those poor kids!! Glad you came here. Sure makes you appreciate your loved ones more and also helps put some things into perspective. Good for you for turning to exercise. You are soooo going to succeed at this WOL!!!

Joe...well...now what will I do with my free time?? Oh right...I don't have any free time left today! LOL! I am sure she will be back...different time..maybe different name...who knows. Just glad it is over.

Okay..totally off topic...but not because without I wouldn't be here. What kind of virus protectors are you all using. I downloaded AVG...but I have to manually update it myself everyday and the free trail is up in 6 days. The puter came with Nortons...should I just go with that??

Monie, I was going to say the exact same thing! It was like a train wreck. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. *hugs*

Sorry about your technical difficulties Elsie. AVG has a free antivirus program you should be able to download that without a time limit. You may have just downloaded a trial of the pay version and that's why it is expiring. I have a mac now but when I had PC I used it and never had problems.

            Hi everyone,

Sorry I could not check in earlier -- busy all day! Didn't get to read that dreadful sounding thread you were all talking about before it was shut down, probably for the best, seems like it was a real downer.

Drank my 10 cups of water today, is everyone still on board with that?

Monie - I am so sorry to hear about your friends accident. When I was a kid my aunt and uncle got hit by a truck while riding on their motorcycle -- my aunt broke her pelvis and my uncle slipped disks in his spine and had to get a metal rod in his leg. Since then they have recovered for the most part, but tragedies like that are definitely hard to get through.

Sorry if I am missing responding to anything, but it is late. I will check in tomorrow. Later buddies!

Yeah, I am up at 4 am, DB had a stuffy nose and just could not sleep, so we are up, yay!

Monie, I am so sorry to hear about your friend!! So young. I had some news like that yesterday myself, I used to do daycare, and I just found out that our neighbors behind us were in a bad car accident on the 4th, they were T-boned by a drunk driver. They were one of my daycare families years back. It was a mom, an 13yo son and 11yo daughter. They are all still in critical cond, the girl had just her lap belt on and they had to cut it out of her abdominal cavity and reconstruct much of her stomach and surrounding organs. The boy has a broken shoulder, and I am not sure what shape the mom is in. I am going to try to go see the dad today and see what I can do, or if they are in any shape for company soon, or how the heck they are all doing. So tragic.

I said to bf, can you imagine having your whole family in the hospital like that? And he looked at me and said, YEAH, I forgot that he was in that position when I did the month long hospital bedrest thing then the baby was there for 9 weeks! I forget how it impacts those at home. So he wants us to cook something to bring over to the dad. I am actually thinking about my taco dip, and it is pretty friendly for us too.

Elsie, sounds like you need an exorcist for your electronics!! LOL! Funny thing thru all this is that I do feel like I have more energy, I think I am becoming addicted to exercise like Monie!! Yay!!! Well, DB is watching his baby einstein movie, I better get some reading time in! And the weiner doggy wants out, ttyl.

Hi, btw, Cori!!! Glad to see you here every day!!!

Joe! Thanks for that tidbit, my DD has been begging to go on webkins, but I haven't let her, I bet thats it! A lot of those kid sites have bugs!! Sorry you are having troubles though!

                      Welcome fat4now.

Wieghed in today, been at it for 4 weeks, and lost 12 pounds. I'm happy with that!

Also lost 7.25 inches collectively from all the places we measured for the 6WEC, in just a week!! Woohoo!! Mostly from my upper area, waist didn't budge, weird how the wt picks and chooses where it will come off! A smidge came off the hips and thigh, which I am delighted about! I am going to keep measuring and weighing weekly!!

Hey. Just finished a CLEAN two week induction! Don't want to jinx myself but it seemed easier this time around, maybe because it was my first clean run. I think giving up Diet Coke has made a big difference in reducing cravings and habit eating. It's probably too early to tell, but I think maybe the aspartame was slowing my weight loss down too - I seemed to lose more in induction this time around than I ever have before.

About virus protection: I use Sophos - not sure if it's free or not, I get it free from the university I work at. My daughter is a big Webkinz fan and uses the site all the time. I've never noticed any problems from it, but I do run Spybot Search and Destroy every couple of weeks to get rid of any spyware/adware that might get picked up from all the game sites she visits. Spybot is free - I love it.

Hope everybody's having a good day today! Stay strong.

Vanessa...thank you for the link. That is exactly what I did. Downloaded the wrong version. Thanks so much.

Cori....thread is still there. When they lock a thread that means that no one can respond to it anymore. I believe our first buddy thread is locked as well.

Val...now that is a great addiction!!! Wish they sold that in pill form...LOL! YAHHH..another 2 pounds down! And more inches! Pretty soon the inches won't have a choice of where to come off of. WOOT...you are going to be sliding into those scrubs! I really don't think it is the Webkinz site. Pretty reputable company. They do maintence every night. I know because I have been kicked off of it while they do it. My responsibility was to water DD's garden daily...LOL! It is soo funny. Even grows weeds that you have to rake out and if you don't water it in a long while the plants die. It says in your stats you are at your first minigoal already!

2MuchMike...speaking of goals! Congrats on meeting your first one and saying good bye to the 400's FOREVER!! And even more so to making it a totaly clean one. Great job! thanks for the spybot tip. I was going to see if they still had PCcillion around and do a scan.

                                Be gooood!

fat4now...Welcome! I used it on the last puter too. All the puter geeks in my family recommend it. Thanks.

Joe...I really don't think it is the webkinz thing. They are a very reputable company.

Sugarshack...welcome! thanks for the help with the shakes.

Cori...better put the jogging pants on and get practising so you can run with your Dad. What a change in your household, huh? How is the cooking going on there without him??
