    Re: Buddy List July 7-13

Hey all, been working hard on school, yuck. I have just 17 assignments or tests to go out of 37 total. Getting there anyway.

I have kind of slipped a bit, been munching on freakin cashews the past 2 days, bf would not let me put the bag in his lunchbox. Anyway, I figure that I maybe ate like 35 carbs of them in each of the past 2 days, bad habit while studying. Not even to that rung yet. I am gong to feed the rest to the kids this afternoon so they won't be there anymore. Not a good eater today either, all I had was eggs, some cashews, and steak leftover. Gotta get my veggies in tonight! At least it was not junk food. So hopefully it isn't too much damage, I learned not to buy cashews!!

Got in exercise yesterday and today, drinking my water. Just need to get my head clear and back on track. I am actually having a tough time doing college without a cigarette in hand, yuck, I know, and I haven't even been a smoker for a few years! Nervous smoker/snacker, I guess, but at least I have learned that about myself too.

Tired today, was up till midnight taking tests till I couldn't see straight. Will get my other half hour exercise in later and then check back. I did Taebo this am, fun!!

You are correct, I chew Extra all day and everyday long. Seems to work for me. God Bless, Joe

Aspartame?? That's the sweetener not allowed, or we are supposed to be allowed but in limited quantities? God Bless, Joe

Wow Val..you are over half way there. Keep going. Been thinking of you since you posted the icecream post. Now the nuts one. Gonna give you tough love here...well as tough as I can...cause I love ya!!

This might seem familiar to you...a wise person said it...no...not me silly...
<<Just stick to the plan, there is only one plan, take it or leave it! >>

Okay...this is what has been running through my mind about you. I am concerned that having BF move up the ladder is allowing you to bring food into the house that you are not ready to deal with. For example...the icecream...has artificial sweetners in it and I thought you reacted to them?? Is it worth it? Now the nuts. Nuts are a dangerous rung. For the record...cashews are way down the list on preferred nuts to eat. You can only have 9....yes...9!!! LOL! Why the heck even bother. A lot of people stall at this rung. I do not believe that is is always a reaction to the nuts themselves but more on the serving sizes that happen. If you want nuts then by all means...have a serving a day....work it into your plan. Take the nuts...put the serving you are allowed in a bowl and consiously eat them. Not mindlessly...stop what you are doing and enjoy them.

Okay..the good part...at least it was legal! At least you learned that you can't buy nuts or at the very least need to limit them.

Bad part...why when you are doing so great...and paid such a price for the night out do you want to sabotage yourself? Are you using BF as an excuse to bring food into the house? Are you afraid that you might actually do this? Did you look at your scrubs first?

More good part...after dairy is the nut rung...so if you want them you can have them...just have a plan. Fail to plan mean you may fail the plan.

You may get lucky and it not affect you....this time!

Joe...print out the induction list on the main forum...that will help you with what is allowed or not. Aspartame is not recommended. Splenda is. Also Stevia...and some others. Limits of artificial sweetners are 3 servings a day.

That being said I do on occasion have Aspartame...when I go out and order a diet coke from a resturant for instance. At home I use Splenda or Stevia. And some days I go over my three. Some days I have no sweetners at all. I will probably be looking into malitol as that also does not raise blood sugars.

Nuts are not allowed until the nut rung. They are not allowed during induction. Not even sunflower seeds ;^). Cheese, heavy cream, sour cream, avacados, olives, lemon juice are also limited.

Elsie, your killin me. I shell sunflower seeds all day long.(at least when I'm not chewing gum). Still better than chewing snuff and still losing weight. Maybe it's me? I dunno. Forward---- God Bless, Joe

I know Joe...LOL! So far you have been lucky since you are technically not doing a clean induction. It may have to do with your size or you being a male or how your body works or you may just be one lucky SOB! You are lucky you are getting away with it. And it may bite you in the ...well...you know...later and you may have to adjust as you get thinner. Or not...guess we will have to wait and see. I'll be watching you....MAWWWWAAAAAAHHHAHAHAHhahahahahahaaaaa

LOL Joe, I was just going to say the same thig as Elsie. No Fair! Oh well whatever works for you. You might consider cutting back on the aspartame though. It is really bad for you. I also have a diet coke now and then but I try to avoid it if I can.
Val, sorry you had a slip-up. I am not to be trusted around nuts so I think my experience on the nut rung will be limited to baking with almond flour and flaxseed meal. The important thing is to get right back on track which I know you can and will.

                          Re: Buddy List July 7-13

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a couple of days since I checked in. Yesterday I had such a bad day at work that I barely logged on here because I was in a BAAAD mood! Ya'll will be proud of me though. I wanted to go home after work and relax a little with some low-carb ice cream, but I didn't do it. I have the ice cream in my freezer for certain occasions (don't ask long story). I didn't eat any of it though. I've been working out like a madman this week trying to get to where I want to be by July 26th and it just wasn't worth it since it's not technically legal for me yet (or ever....hmmm).

Things are better today. Working on some personal stuff now and just trying to stay positive. My work is the source of all my stress and it takes everything in me to not be a negative person eating bad food all the time. Excercise is great for that kind of stuff. Hope everyone is well!
