    hey everyone. happy thursday!!!! taking the day off from work today. had to leave early yesterday to go to the doctor. been having this pain in my back for a couple weeks, thought it was actually lung pains from bronchitis, but meds were not helping. yesterday at dr's appt. doctor seemed to think the pain is actually a pulled muscle. started me on a steroid, anti-inflamatory, and pain meds. took 2 doses of it yesterday and both times it pretty much knocked me out, so i figure i better stay home today to get a good days worth of meds in me so i can start the healing process. doc said i could start taking the meds just in the evening if i want so that i could still go to work. i will start doing that tomorrow.

    jackie-i can so relate to your halloween candy mishap. we actually didn't have any trick or treat'ers this year, we haven't for many years, but every year DH buys this big ole bag of candy. i was just barely into my first week back on plan, and fell right into that bowl of candy and right off the wagon. i knew that i had to get back on quickly though, so only really gave in a few more times over that next weekend. now what's left is still sitting in the bag, and i'm gonna take it to work with me if i can ever remember to get it before i walk out the door. stress from work.....i know about that too, work been pretty stressful for me and all my co-workers as well. upper management is trying to run our facility on a skeleton crew and we are all getting tired and feel way too overworked. i can also relate to all the other feelings and emotions you are feeling. i too was getting those exact one's when i decided that it was time to get back to plan. i think alot of that for me comes from the fact that i know i worked so hard to get where i was, and just gave in too easily. i hope for you that you can get back on track soon. if at all possible, don't wait til monday, just make that next bite a legal one. if ya need to, make your goals bite by bite instead of day by day or week by week. just remember we are here for ya. you can lean on us anytime, and you are always an inspiration to us all.

    gonna go lay down now....meds kicking in....check in again this evening if i can stay awake long enough.

      Jackie..<<I'm feeling stressed, lonely, upset, overwhelmed, angry, dissapointed, fatigued, fat, and ugly, etc. I don't feel like celebrating anything. I just want to crawl into a whole and dream about good times. There is so much to do that I am getting flustered all the time.>> Must be the twin thing happening. We will get through this. Just remember you are only a loser if you quit trying. I am not ready to give up on myself or you. We will do better.

      Monie...Wow....hope you are doing okay and that the meds will help you soon!!! Darn that halloween anyway..

        such gloomy gus's on here lately.. I think it's the instant gradification thing of dieting. As is so the case..You end up your own worst enemy.........

            I’m sorry to hear of your pain, I hope you are feeling better, now that a weeks’ time has passed. And the work thing is just ridiculous. I’ve noticed that most of our American jobs have gone way out of control in the past ten years. We had a layoff this week where 10% of our force was given their pink slips, yet our counterparts in India were all getting promotions. I’m so disgusted by the way we ‘Americans’ are being treated. I had to watch one of my good friends walk out the door yesterday. She has 2 infants and a new mortgage. She will lose her home if she can’t pull a miracle out of her butt. DH watched 1/3 of his company get laid off the other day, some of the people have 20 years experience. So, skeleton crew is what they are calling it? I call it a ‘marrow deficient skeleton crew’. We are all over worked and getting sick because of it.

            Thank you for the encouraging words of wisdom. Although I don’t want to see you in the same boat as me with the candy and meds which can cause weight gain, misery does love company. You’ve made me feel not so alone anymore. Although it is me that buys the stinking bag of candy putting it in harms way of the entire family to chomp on.

            OK….I’ll get off my soap box now. And tell you that I did go back on plan Monday 11/3. I had one weak day last Saturday at a family party, but got back on the wagon the next day. I haven’t done any of the exercises yet, but have been battling Bursitis in my arm and massive hand pain. I hope to be back to exercising on Monday once I get off my fat A(*#&$($. I also took myself off the PILL because we think it’s a contributing factor of why I’m having such a tough time losing weight. Only problem is that I believe it was masking other problems, such as allowing me to have virtually pain free cycles. But, I also believe that it was helping with the condition of my hands, somehow masking or alleviating an arthritis type of pain. But, we’ll see, DH thinks it’s because I’m not exercising, and I have to believe where he’s been right 95% of the time with this whole new way of life, that he’s probably right again.

            FYI….I use these muscle relaxers, and they are awesome! I take two at night when I’m really sore, and I’m out cold until morning. So enjoy the sleep you are getting from those meds while it lasts!

            Thank you for the support. We’ve got to be twins. Isn’t it amazing the feelings and emotions we are going through is exactly the same? Wow…I’m not going to give up on us either. My posts may only be once a week or so, by heart and mind is with everyone every day. I actually had a dream (you know, the one where you climb into that whole and long for better days?) the other night that we all reached our goals and DH hosted a huge get-together where everyone brought an Atkins friendly item and we all dance and flaunted our newly renewed sexy bodies. LOL! It was truly an AWESOME DREAM!

            Fuzzy Wuzzy may not have been very fuzzy, but my Kitty Kat ‘Indy’ and my Puppy Dog ‘Rusty’ are full of it! LOL! Bill, nah nah nah nah nah. You can’t hurt them anymore. Indy is on to your mysterious kitchen water pistol, and Rusty has found a safe hiding spot. And if you ask me, I will never tell you where Fuzzy Wuzzy is because we wouldn’t want him to lose anymore of what’s left of his fuzz. Ha ha ha ha ha.

              Jackie, my twin, you fall off, I fall off, you get back on plan and so do I....LOL! I have been eating legal since Wednesday. Love the dream! I have also though, not been exercising. Hurt my back doing something. And that is almost all better but am having huge troubles sleeping. And can't seem to stay a sleep. Lots of tossing and turning and waking up and sometimes I am awake for hours during the night. Really messing me up and I am feeling very dragged out. So even though I am back on plan the fibramyalsia is acting up as well.

              But am back on plan...and that is great! Hopefully the rest will fall in line. It is funny what can motivate us. I have been struggling for quite a while now. But on Tuesday the lady who said she would take my exercise tapes mentioned how she has lost 200 pounds doing the Meditreanen (sp?) diet. She still has a ways to go as she is still in the mid 300's. But she is exercising and back on her plan as well. Wednesday morning I was good to go and have been legal since.

                hey there everyone. i know it's been a long time since i've posted. i hope everyone is doing ok. i've really had kind of a rough couple weeks. fortunately, the diet part of it is still going really well. work is still crazy though, and i know the stress from that is probably a major part of my problem. the meds i was on for my strained muscle in my back really helped, but they caused some other problems that have made the last couple weeks unbearable. first there was the constipation, which at first i thought was more from the diet, than anything else. so i was making sure that i was very diligent to get all my veggies in. that really didn't seem to help, but in the mean time another problem arose. without going into great detail, let's just say that preperation H became a close friend of mine, along with dulcolax and some added fiber pills. to top it all off, i thought that i'd begun to get another bout of a stomach bacteria that i've had before. it's called h-pylori. it can truly be a very debilitating type of infection, from nausea, heartburn, anxiety, constipation, and other symptoms. this infection could be the entire reason for the constipation problems i was having all along. the meds i had been taking could have just magnified the problem. i went to the doctor the other day, and have been referred to a GI doctor. i will probably have to have a scope done to make sure the h-pylori has not caused an ulcer. the good news is that my other problems have i was having are better now, and i'm not feeling quite as bad. my stomach is even feeling a little better. it's possible that all the stress from constipation and the need for the preparation H were really all it was and maybe the h-pylori has not really come back. i'm gonna take all the precautions though to make sure.

                getting back to the diet, it's still going very well, i'm not back down to my lowest weght yet, but i'm getting there. i'm probably about 5 lbs away. haven't made it back to the gym yet though, and have let the whole exercise routine go by the wayside. i WILL get back to it though, as i know i need it to be truly successful on this wol. with the holidays coming up, i know there will be times that will test my will power, and i need to be strong.

                i hope that everyone is doing well and we can get back to supporting each other as we have in the past. you all are what keeps me trying and i am glad to have found this little group.

                  Hey Monie...hope you are doing even better than when you posted. I am on and off the wagon so much I think I am part yo-yo. things here are crazy and probably will continue to be that way until the New Year. I am still here...some days are excellent and some days....not. Last week I got down to my posted weight but am back up a few pounds again. I wish winter wasn't just started as I am sure that sunshine would help me. But I am here for you. So feel free to post away girlfriend!!!

                  Okay...gotta go hide some presents I got for the kids today. Later friendssssss....

                      Maybe you can start a new buddy thread and make some more friends as well as catch up with some of the old ones?

                          AAARRRGGHHHH! Me boat has capsized in the sea of carbs and I am drowning!!! I was wounded 2 weeks before Christmas and the scallywags stole me appendix and mended a hernia. But now me knows I have another one. So twill be a trip to the surgeon next week for me. I'll tell ya mateys...a pirates tummy with an outie doesn't look too fierce. Keep up the good fight me mates! Hopefully I will be back on board soon! An Atkins pirate life for me! AARRRGHHHH....oh...and by and by tis my birthday today!
