    Happy Halloween all!

    Just stopping in to say HI before I begin my long trek to work off-site today!

    I think October has been the hardest month for me!! We did so well while in Niagara Falls. However, because of stress from work, both DH and I fell off Atkins twice! We've gotten back on track over the last 2 weeks, which makes me really happy.

      I noticed "here" Where I am.....everyone seems in the Blaaah's, dragged out and just plain lousy...Don't know what the weather is like where you are? But it SNOWED here Wednesday! Summer "IS" over, kids are in school
      and frankly: Noone was ready for it. We hope that turning the clocks back will help.......

      Telling "you" about the benifits of the "Future" you, is like telling a Dentist about the future benifits of Fluoride!

      But, I must say: Right on the other side of this Buddy room: Are some 23000 people who would love to bleed you dry...Ummm..really benefit (As my family and I have!) from your "by the heart" advice and guidence.

      Your working out!! That's awesome
      We "kids" (those that reach *cough 40 or so *cough*) need to remember that we will burn thru minerals! (by working out) something like a dry sponge thrown in a bowl of water. The loss of melatonin, Calcium, Magnesium, niacinamide, pantothenic acid, valerian and most of the B vitamins....
      Causes aches and pains, Fatigue and Insomnia! (chapter 23 will really help) I take a super multi with minerals to combat this. (because the soil we grow our food in, is barren of these nutrients now)

      ok let's keep the next part simple! Let's journey back to high school ok!?

      Before $1000.00 dollar an hour Psychologists! We "brainstormed" things out. Your OVERWHELMED. ok.... simply....WHY?
      Grab a pencil and a tiny scrap of paper and jot down everything! I mean everything!!! (AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!) The overwhelmed stuff, stuff that Pisses you off, Things you can't control! Goals, Wishes, interfering Buddy's, that dust bunny hiding under the sofa, All of it! Remember Also...jot down the good things, the goals you reached, the good times, the cherished times,

      Once brained stormed..put them in columns Bad to good..Most important..number them from severe to minor...
      WOW...there it is...all of it......now we know....WHY!

      with Clarity comes "wisdom" and with wisdom comes a "game plan"!

        happy november 1 ! last nite went well bought some carmel candy that i dont like and didnt eat any.. moderate amount of kids 20 or so over 2 hours.. not bad

        elsie good to see you. sorry you are struggling. listen to guru bazz and you will do well

        guru - you are da man ! such common sense, such a sense of humor, keep it coming

        carmella you too.. read the bazz post and fiugre out why.. and then you can tackle the stress/doldrums that cause a stumble

        -- as for me, taking 4-5 days off for my sons wedding didnt do too much damage.. gained 3-4 lbs.. however back on track and yesterday morning scale said 275 and today it said 273.. so it seems that i am doing ok.. so i will keep on keeping on
        the plan was to go back to rung 1 (not that i ever really went beyond rung 1) but i think i have been mostly induction this week.. going grocery shopping today so i will stock up on more salad/veggies and maybe start the multi- with mineral as i am going to start some excercise again..

          Alright Bill...I hear you. I am mulling things over. In my brain I (the unmotivated, overwhelmed one) am laying on a couch talking it through with the other me (the one that knows what needs to be done and works towards getting it done) and together we are trying to work it out. Self, says I, We need a plan.

          Failing to plan is the same as planning to fail. So I guess the first step will be a plan.

          Baby steps...how do you walk a hundred miles...same as the next person...one step at a time.

          Tomorrow's plan:
          Weigh myself. I am backwards from most people...when I stop weighing daily I also seem to stop being on top of my game plan.

          Drink MINIMUM 8 cups of water...more is better...but 8 is a good baby step and about 7 more than I have been doing lately.

          Take my supplements.

          Try to find some time to come up with a menu for Monday.

          I think these are reasonable babysteps that I can accomplish and reinforce me positively towards another step forward. One step at a time...fake it 'til I make it!!

          Bill...thanks for reaching out. It does make a huge difference for me. You are a great BUDDY!!

          Sugar..thanks...means a lot!!! Good luck with the exercising!!! What is your plan? Definitely take your supplements.

            hey everyone remember me......well if not i understand since it's been so long since i've posted. i've been off plan since well mid september, but am ready to get back on track now. my slide began from a 3 day power outage, then came an oktoberfest DH and i attend every year, several birthday parties after that, and amazingly, i only gained 11 lbs back. i had been really starting to feel bad, so i knew i had to get back to it. i kinda started on plan this past week, but faltered when i came home thursday night and there was a bag of candy left over from trick-or-treat. other than that this past week has not been too bad diet wise. i know i should probably do an intense 2 week induction, but at this moment i just can't seem to completely commit to that. eventually i''m sure i'll get to that point, but i know now just getting back to not eating crap is more important. i'm basically just backing up the ladder from where i was when i ultimately crashed and burned.

            i feel so bad for bailing on you all for so long, but i did pop in here now and again to try to keep up on the buddy list goings on. i know that i'll need your support and i'm back to lend you the same. dh and i need to get back to the gym too. hopefully this week we will start back there too. dh is coming on the wol with me which will make things much easier.

            hope to hear from you all soon and i hope that you'll pull me back into the fold, if not i'll certainly understand. take care and happy low carbing

              I dont post much in this thread, but had to pop in to say it is good to see both of you (Elsie and Monie) returning to the fold
              It sounds as if you both have a plan, so go for it, girls!!

                After setting the clock's back an hour..decided to go for a tiny walk...
                Nice morning here on the Cape: everything is covered in ice...(total silence) like a moment trapped in time...WAAAAAA

                Joined the "miles challenge"!!! it counts anything you do for movement. Like walking, running/jogging, biking..ect..ect..I put in for (nose) running and (tears) flowing........

                Caramella--Hope the off-site work is not to stressful! And (by getting back on track) you should be Happy!! Yea for both of you! The both of you are real inspirations for all of us.

                sugar-- As your Guru..We need to ponder the "cosmic" you, not the "physical" you. If your not achieving (at least 3 times a day) an out-of body experience, then we must boost up the screaming and chanting and........Waaaaaaaa .

                Like your plan! great that your going to start training like a Triathlon
                runner! seriously tho: Slooooooow, but steady only. Your already the
                "winner"!

                Elsie--- Fake it till you Make it! Love your "game plan" Have the kid's woodburn your motivational phrase onto a plank. Hang it over the couch..The one the "other" you is stretched out on...............

                let's avoid overwhelmed....mini goals!! and the Reward system!!
                reach a goal and reward yourself...like 1 pound this week = a 6 carot diamond bracelet! Ummmm........ you know what i mean!
                (also rereading your post from the 14th, is that why your up to 3 times a week at the gym? either way..too cool!)

                  good morning everyone. thank you for the welcome backs Elizellen and bill. i starting thinking this morning(no cooment from the peanut gallery.....bill....LOL) about the event that caused me to stray from this woe that i so enjoy. it was a freak wind storm, an effect from a hurricane that happened almost a 1000 miles away. it knocked out power in atleast 3 states, and for me personally over 3 days. many others much longer. somehow even after power was restored, i found excuse after excuse why i should wait to start back. the excuses are over now and i'm back on track. i'll be trying to do some batch cooking to have plenty on hand for times when i'm not feeling like cooking. getting back on plan has already made me feel better physically. cutting out the sugar and caffiene have also cleared the fogginess from my head as well. can even tell i'm sleeping better too. with the holidays coming up i know it will be a challenge, i'm glad thanksgiving comes first, it will definately be the easiest. i'm gonna start in earnest finding some recipes for goodies that i can make for family gatherings and such, as i know that will be the big true test.

                  it's great to be back on plan and with you all again.

                        Gosh, I hate Monday's!
                        Here I was, just finishing an intense 8 hour workout with my "personal" trainer. And at weigh in I am Goal weight! Angel's singing, The masses bowing before me! then whoosh...it's off to Mom's. Heaping bowls of linguini with vodka/cream tomato sauce and meatballs the size of my head! Crusty--Garlic butter topped bread too. ****POOF**** Alarm goes off....

                        Shoot, it's Monday, and I'm freakn' freezing! well...at least I'm not hungry..Hey!? where's Teddy?? what's this? 2 little button eyes?

                          good morning everyone. just thought i'd check in before i headed to work. doing pretty good so far being back on plan. definately feeling better about myself and glad i didn't wait any longer to come back. with DH finally agreeing to join me, things will be much easier. we worked together last night to fix dinner and that was kinda cool. dinner was awesome by the way, we fixed a pot roast in a pressure cooker with turnips, green peppers, onions and celery. then also had a boiled cabbage for a side. tonight i think i'm gonna fix one of linda's recipes, maybe her philly cheeseburger skillet dinner.

                          well, gonna get to work. hope everyone is doing well.

                                Hello Buddies!

                                Remember when I said that I would 'Absolutely not touch that bag of Halloween candy'? Well, that was a dream gone wrong. Because we only had 3 (yes, only 3) trick-or-treaters (Cruella DeVille, a fairy, and a poodle), we were left with 4 pounds of miniature chocolates. And yes, I caved and ate almost all of them by myself. That sent me into a carb frenzie of pizza, crispy pad thai, popcorn, other candies, and just a whole array of no-no's. I even ate these really gross chocolate chip cookies to try and satisfy the spot.

                                Stress? Well, my Boss will be back, we hope, on Thursday next week. My team has been dragged over the coals on a daily basis by our director (from another country I wish not to mention). We are all women, and if given weapons, would use them at this point. I can't wait for my female Boss to come back and put our (man) director in line. No wonder she took 3 weeks off. We are now all calling her Wonder Woman.

                                I'm feeling stressed, lonely, upset, overwhelmed, angry, dissapointed, fatigued, fat, and ugly, etc. I don't feel like celebrating anything. I just want to crawl into a whole and dream about good times. There is so much to do that I am getting flustered all the time. But, thank God the presidential election is over. That was one of my big stesses, besides paying the huge bill to replace the engine in our car. Am glad the election is finally over and I have my car back.

                                Any hoot. You have Bill to keep our 'Buddy Boat' floating. I'm hoping to get back on track by Monday so that I can project a good attitude and provide inspiration to y'all. But, for now, I hope my agony serves to make y'all feel better about yourselves. All that trying and exercising you've all been doing, you make me proud to be associated with you.
