We are learning about the DW's Hypothyroid...we need to keep the levels up..but still have the Atkin's fat burning metabolism..so I am going to introduce more fats into her diet..mostly from veggie's like olives and avacado, nuts and seeds as well as some fish and mayo and olive oil based dressings

MMM...beef...love it! Well try the roasted tomatoes...I brushed them with olive oil on both sides first. That will help. Okay....haven't tried this yet...but have read several positive posts on it. How about if she eats a Tbsp of coconut oil a day??

              Elsie
I was able to find the oil in a little plastic tub at our local heath store---
Thank you! even found a few recipe's on linda's site to use this stuff with!

We did a batch of tomatoes! they were good!..next batch we added pizza seasonings and mozzarella cheese to each tomato in stages..oh so good!
To go with it, I tried an induction friendly--- Chateaubraind with a caramel/toffee like cream sauce (using a little Splenda brown sugar ) ...came out great!
              eat your heart out Richard!

Okay guys stop it, rofl I am going to pee my pants. It is so funny listening to the two of you.

I think there is a lot of stuff going on right now...and I am a little stressed. I applied for a new job in the IT dept. and I am hoping they will give me a chance. I dont have a lot of training, but if only someone would take me under their wing. Not to mention tom is lurking... excuses, excuses. But my will power is nill. I really believe that I need to start on induction again. I have let a lot of crap back into my system. I have been feeling totally sick for the last week now.

I am going to do what you said Elsie and talk to my niece. I told her that if she wanted to exercise I was available m,w,f - well for now that is. I am going to call her though. Maybe she does need the same push I do.

Also, I have to get on my tomatoes too. The roasted tomatoes sound wonderful. I am going to have to get busy tonight.

                Have a great day guys.

                  Good Morning Bud's

Busy day today..where does the time go?

Shauna-- Dealing with stress is tough! My DW and my DD as well as myself, all have different levels and breaking points...and it's so nice to reach for a comfort food during those times..

We recorded all our favorites and researched "mock" alternatives..

Sunday is "cook & store" day...so that when those times hit (and they will!) we have something to reach for! (YES, even induction friendly desserts!) We can help you with finding some of your favorites or even new favorites!

Starting back on Induction is tricky----You can get bored with the food choices quickly!--DR A say's if your body was already in Ketosis---then a few days back on induction will bring you right back! Do you have you Keto Test strips? You may be stressing for nothing! or at the least you will know when your body is back to a fat burning metabolism--and then pick up where you left off!
                  Best of luck!

BILL - thanx for the link.. i printed the recipe and now have to shop even my coworker (the gal whos stepson ate 2 helpings of the cauliflower mock potatoes) asked for a copy since the stepson liked the last recipe, who knows, may make a healthier 21 year old yet !!

shauna - sorry your life is stressed right now.. hope you get the new job.. and good job getting back on track ! ! keep up the good work.. and remember the icky feeling will go away when you are back on WOE. . . its good insentive for me to keep on track.. feeling icky is no fun.

elsie, i never did nutrasystems, i did visit a jenny craig once.but was too spendy on the food.. i have done just about every other diet/ pill/ drink/ plan and this is the only one that has worked without me feeling like i was starving all the time , but i think the Bill Bazz mail order food plan is a good idea !!

did you all watch Big Fat Loser last nite ?? Grand Canyon and they didnt excercise ?? i guess 3 weeks in they would feel lost without thier routine, however you would think they would have at least hiked more ? maybe uphill some ?? and didnt the Dad who left look fabulous 4 months later ?? wow !! even leaving the ranch, he kept working and it showed.. he probably gained 20 more years of life just by doing what he did.. he looked Mahvalous !

Saturday we move my oldest son out.. the one who gets married October 25th - they were approved for an apartment and he moves in Saturday and she'll move in on thier wedding day ! very exciting.. she'll get to move her stuff over too, and all the stuff she got at her shower (no nighties, all kitchen stuff..i may just have to take her shopping for the sexy stuff) anyway, that will be fun -

ok time to get ready for work .. woo hoo ! counting down to monday when new girl starts, and i can concentrate on just my own job for a while

everyone have a great day .. elsie keep up the excercise classes you are inspiring me.. i just may join a class after all the wedding festivities are over.. and i have more time.. bill keep cooking.. shauna keep your chin up girl !

Bill...yep..those tomatoes were good..I made a second batch too! Very easy getting the veggies in yesterday. Did you do yours the fast way or the slow way? Love the toppings! slip that on an oopsie roll....drool drool.

Shauna....try the tomatoes....so easy. I just poured the EVOO on the foil on cookie sheet and dragged them through it. Then some more poured on and brushed the tops. Then your spices. Really easy. I like easy. I am going to respectfully suggest that you do not go back to induction. Instead I suggest that since you have gotten sloppy you should drop back to rung 1. Keep really good track of your foods and what you are adding back in. That is the lesson you are going to have to learn. I know it sucks at keeping track. I am totally weak in that area as well. But it is something we are going to have to do if we want to continue to be successful at this WOE.

Sugar...Yep..Bill could start his own food line for sure!!! A little cat and dog with their tails tied together in the corner. Tie one on with Bill Bazz! I watched BL. Amazing that the father continued to work so hard! I had my doubts! AWESOME!! I agree with you...what was with the no exercising. I mean, come on, they are on the BL show. Don't they know there is going to be a weigh in? Good twist at how the are sending them home.

Anyway..rough night sleeping and then when I did get to sleep the dog woke me up puking. So had to start all over. REALLY don't want to go to exercise class today. But will drag my butt anyway. Don't know if it will be worth it though....later....

I'm back. I did well. Much better than I thought I would. But I am mad. This is a Senior and Beginner class and the darn boot camp girls are moving in. Now I know noone is going to say that they can't be there because it is more money for them and normally I wouldn't have a problem with it. Last week there was 3 and they were off to one side and just worked harder. This week...7-8 of them and they have both fans on their side and one was complaining about the music (80's stuff..it is fine but it is always the same songs)...wants something more contempary...I said well I enjoyed the older rock (60's) they played a bit last time and she said no something more modern. I said well it is a Senior and Beginner class and she was like..NO it is for everyone. AAARRRRGGHH! Someone tell me to let it go...to just stay out of it...do my exercises and leave. I'm just MAD!!!

ELSIE.. if it was advertised as senior/beginner then they should stick to what they said.. altho i guess they do reserve the right to change things up... however, if you signed up for senior / beginner then they go and change it to hip hop or some awful stuff like that... thats just not fair.. especially since you are paying for it..

sorry you got mad at class.. however you did go, you did work out, you are amazing

Hey Bill...I think I am going to wait and see what happens. If I notice the Senior count going way down I will say something. I, myself, am okay with whatever music, old, new, 80's, hiphop...whatever. It was the point that it is supposed to be a Senior and beginner class..which she is not either..and that she has the nerve to complain...that and maybe the sound of her voice? I have never met a person with such a high naturally whiny sounding voice. When I went last week out of the 14 people 2-3 were bootcamp girls and then me and the rest were Seniors. I am talking late 60's and 70's here..one guy..in his 80's for sure...their spirits are AMAZING!! Spry old buggers...LOL!! I will count on friday. But will stay out of it until I know whether it is needed for me to fight...they may not care...I will watch. I just don't want them to lose the class because it becomes more centered to the bootcamp girls.

Boot camp girls...they go to the night classes...THIN...all of them not topping out at 115 pounds MAX...with their matching yoga clothes and double timing all the steps. Hardcore. I don't have a problem with them persay..BUT...had I walked in there my first day to see a bunch of them and only 1 or 2 seniors I wouldn't have gone back...I picked a beginner class for a reason...just as I am sure the Seniors don't go to the boot camp classes at night. Richard is looking more and more attractive...LOL!!
