Mike....<<I liked those 14 pounds so much I'm going to lose them twice!>> I actually LOL'd loud enough for the kids to ask me what was so funny! Love checking in here and getting a laugh out of it. Beat the heck out of them...that counts as exercise...LOL!

Sugar...Elizellen's report was on the advil. I take the ibprophen. You are right. The stuff 'they' put in our foods and stuff is crazy! No need for some of it.

        Evening all....

So I added more stress to my life...DH and I are looking into buying a house!!! Oh my goodness! It's been my dream to get out of renting apartments and leaving the whole not having a backyard thing. I have two young boys who need a backyard and a stable living environment (as it is..my downstairs neighbors fight ALL the time..I called the cops on them the first week they were here..oi!). The down sides to moving (again, since we just moved here in late May) would having to switch my older son to another school--but he's all about the idea of having his own room again--and the added living expenses. However, we are still in the talks..we are sending in our "pre-approval" paperwork tonight ..we'll get the answer in the morning..I know that it's a HUGE step in our lives right now...Wish us luck!

Some good news..I might be down to 166.5...I stepped on the scale this morning and that was the number it gave me. I don't want to make it an official weigh-in until I can see that number for a few days in a row. I've been really watching my carbs and getting out as much as possible. Another downside of moving into the house...NO GYM on site! I could potentially walk the whole community as it is off from the main roads..or just join the Gold's Gym down the road from me--I think they have daycare! So I will check the weight out for a few more days..see if that number sticks then make it official!

Alright..I'm jumping with excitement..I don't know how I will be able to sleep! *Dances!* I'm sure I'll post again tomorrow.

        Night night all,

Thank you Moni It feels good to be here, just wish I had more time to get here i'm sorry you've hit a rocky patch with the way you are feeling bout the diet. i'm sure we've all been there at some point. I honestly think it's just the way I've been feeling about life and not so much just the Atkins stuff. If one is feeling down in their life, everything will seem very lousy no matter what it is. i know right now you feel like you are not ready to move onto OWL, but in light of your emotions right now, and even though you say you have alot of weight to go before you feel comfortable moving on i hope you'll hear me out on this. ~listens intently~ induction was truly only meant to last to 2 weeks to help detox the body. Uh huh Dr. A did say you could stay on it longer Yes he did say one could even stay on it for as long as six months however, he also said that if boredom of food sets in, I don't even think I am bored of the foods I get to eat yet it could lead to straying from plan, and recommended that one move onto OWL. the first rung is only veggies, Only Veggies.. hmmm.. and believe it or not, there are some things you could add even on the first rung that might help when you are missing sweets. actually, there's really no reason you couldn't have these recipes for induction too. i just never did until i moved onto the first rung. if you've never tried jicama before, I have and have a whole bunch in my freezer that is great to use to make mock fried apples. I haven't tried that with them as a matter of fact I haven't really known what to do with them. I ate some raw and I think it tastes like a potato/apple lol here's the link from linda's site for it. Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes also pumpkin is another great thing to have as long as you get canned pumpkin Dh and I went and bought 2 cans of PUMPKIN in a can, but dh is confused as to how I can have it with the carb count being a bit high.. I said I guess I only eat a teeny bit? and not pumpkin pie filling (they are usually right next to each other on the shelf, so i have to really watch to make sure i get the right one). you can add cinnamon and splenda to it, i love having that for breakfast. What's that taste like? jicama and pumpkin are a little higher carb veggies, and make it a little easier to get those extra 5 carbs a day. there is also another dessert you can have during induction, but because of the sour cream and heavy cream being special catagory foods during induction it's better to wait until the dairy rung (rung 2). i put my filling What filling? in mini muffin tins and place in the freezer, once firm, i take out and put in plastic containers and keep in the freezer, allowing myself one every so often. oh, and i also cut down the splenda to about 1/3 c and omit the vanilla alltogether.

i am providing this info in hopes that maybe it will convince you to move on to OWL. just as elsie is, i'm a strong advocate as well to climbing up the rungs. there's no reason to stay on induction for so long that you become an emotional wreck because of the foods you can't have. when in reality if one moved onto OWL after the 2 week induction period, they could have been having some of the foods they are missing just because they moved along with the plan as suggested. even if you moved on to just the first rung, you could comfortably stay there for weeks at a time I like the sounds of that.. WEEKS at a time before moving to the next rung. many people doing extended induction, after really reviewing their menu find that they are actually doing rung one anyways after a while cause they are eating more veggies than they thought they were.

i really felt the need to post this as it seems you are really struggling and in need of some support and suggestions. so there are just some things for you to consider. also, i know you said because you live in canada that there are not much choices in the low carb department.
remember the best low carb foods, are the ones you find that are natural and wholesome and unprocessed. the low carb products once so readily available, I really just want low carb chocolate chips were merely convience foods(frankenfoods) and for the most part should be avoided anyway. i'd rather spend time in the kitchen creating my own low carb dishes. I love doing that too..

hope this helps sassy, Thank you Monie for taking the time to care and for taking the time to write all that. and i will try to respond to all the other posts when i get home from work.
My replies are in the red Monie.. thank you again.. you rock!!

If you have been there forever maybe your body needs the change. I have been on extended induction now for almost 6 weeks

I know the first time around I stayed on induction for two months before adding other things in. If I really looked at my menu though... I would say that I moved up wrungs but didnt really know it. It is up to you what you want to do. We will support you no matter what. Thank you.. that's very kind of you.

I do not believe the recipe that you were given is a box recipe for the cheese cake. It is cream cheese and then you mix that with a box of jello. The other stuff would be just loaded with carbs I would imagine. A box recipe?? Ohh my.. and lets watch severe confusion set in.. If we're referring to Jackie's suggestion.. it's not out of a box I'll be sure to only be opening the jello box..
Thank you for all the support Shauna

Then gently fold it over rotating the bowl in a circle. Well that gives me some idea which is alot more than I had before Sorry, I don’t know how else to explain this. P.S. The recipe I gave you is on Linda’s list. Yes I saw it there.. thank you..

Not sure where everyone else has been hiding out. But, Corinne has been entrenched in her studies. She just hasn’t had time to get to the board. Where she is an “honors Sigma Lamda Scholar” the college has her up to her eyeballs in work. Hopefully, her schedule will simmer down soon. WOW.. I didn't know all that.. I can see why she isn't here then.. LOL I don't have all that going on and I don't make it here much myself.. And Bill has been sent out countless times to different customers. His work is running him ragged. Be sure to tell him he's missed here.. He’s leaving on Monday for a week to Philadelphia to fix/train a client on one of his Spartan machines. Spartan machines?? Ummm sure.. ok.. if you say so.. I'll just nod and go with it
Jackie thank you for taking the time to explain things to the not so experienced bakers.. my dh appreciates it.. cause now I know not to fold my cream cheese with my laundry!

Sassy...Hugs back girlfriend!! and right back at yah Almonds are for the nut rung..you are right they are a nono. The flax can be used for induction. Used for what or in what? There is a limit to it. have no idea about the Nutraclease and if it is allowed. You would have to post the ingredients. The bag the lady gave me doesn't say anything about what's in it, so I looked it up for you.. http://www.newspirit.com/asp/Site/Re...s/Wellness.asp if you scroll down almost to the bottom of the page, all the info on it is there and I have the powder stuff.. but after reading that, I'm not sure that I would want to put half of this lil bag into a meatloaf! Hahahaa That's what she suggested I could do with it.. Ohh my family would so love me!! Hope the Jello does the trick for you. I haven't tried it yet In a tight spot I have been know to mix sour cream and cream cheese and splenda together...with a fork...LOL! Just a little bit because you are only allowed 1 T of sour cream during induction. Ha...can't tell me that you can't do the rungs because you have so much weight to lose when you weigh less than me and are probably taller! Ha ha ha ha The taller thing is a pretty safe bet as I am only 5' short. You're right.. I'm a whopping 5'4 LOL I won't bug you about it but do be aware that it is there and read lots of posts on the extended induction forum and you will see that there is a lot of struggling there. Like Monie said..even moving up to rung one is still a step. We care about you and want you to succeed! (More hugs) O K . . . O K . . . starting tomorrow (Sept.8th 200 I will move to rung #1 - extra veggies!! There.. happy now? LOL .. but I plan to stay here forever!!! HAHAHAHA

Folding...is kinda like a gentle big stir. They don't want you to over stir it. Just nice big circles...gently...go in one side...along the bottom and up the other side towards the middle...not round and round...until it is just mixed. OMG.. I so love your description!! LOL You're definitely a nutbar hahaha Thank you for that ohh so descriptive instructional play by play.. I loved it!

Okay...off to see what is happening DH talking to ICBC..someone hit our old motorhome and drove off...ripped the siding off....^%*^*^^%^$&^%&^%! Wow.. no &^*% I would be cursen too.. worse than a trucker! I hope $ comes outta someone else's pocket and not yours..

Robin...you will like the oopsie rolls!! I so want to make them too!!
Ok.. that was good for a laugh and then some.. thanks Elsie!

You might also be able to get a generic iboprufen with no sugar or starches instead.

((Elizellen)) Well at least I was not crazy. There is sugar in there. When I took the two tablets on Thurs. I made sure I took them with food. That is why I thought it had to be the pills. All I had was a chicken cesar salad but I figured it was all legit. Those pills were the only thing that I added. Did you know that if you sucked on the pills the sugar taste does not go away for like 45 seconds. Some girl did a test online I guess.

Thank you for doing some research for me. That was very nice of you. When I looked I didnt find this piece of info. that you did. Next time I will stick to plain asprin.

As for my weekend. Everything went very well. I was able to stay on plan and made it through the weekend without SUGAR. I was very tempted by my scale. It was really calling out to me for some reason. But I am signed up for the no weigh diet challange & I cant weigh till the 13th.

Okay the best meal choice that I made this weekend was a lettuce roll up thing. I dont know why but in the past every time I tried these they just weren't so great. This time however instead of making them with Romaine lettuce I used Iceburg. Wow! that really made a big difference. I dont know why, but it did. They tasted just like a chef salad. I dipped them in a little legal ranch dressing and they were so yummy. Guess what is for lunch today?

Robin...best of luck with the house deal going through! Very exciting! And hope the scale stays down for weigh day. A good week in Robinville!!

Sassy...you are so funny...I laughed all the way through your replies to everyone. I sure appreciate you taking the time for that!!! You laugh all you want...you know it took me a long time to figure out how to spell tck tck!!!!! LOLOL! I am not a sweet nut...I am a low carb nut...LOL!

<<In addition to fiber, Nutri Cleanse™ also contains a host of other herbs such as aloe vera, apple pectin, rosehips, garlic and black walnut. It is further enhanced with a special probiotic mix of lactose free acidophilus and bifidus.>>

LOL...I am thinking good thing you got that free. If I am playing devil's advocate I would be saying you can't use it because of the apple pectin..that would be fruit rung...and black walnut..hmmm..I am guessing the nut rung...LOL! If I am being...um...not the devil's advocate...I would say the aloe vera and the rosehips MAY come under the veggie rung...ROFL...so maybe that would count towards your 5 extra carb grams on rung 1...LOLOL!!! I sure wouldn't be buying the pill form..they tell you to work up to 10 pills...and she wants you to use 1/2 a bag in meatloaf? What does she do sell it in bulk...that sure would add up $$$$. May as well use it up though. If you want to count it as a fiber thing...Dr A limits the flax to 1 serving a day. You can sprinkle it on your salads. There is a flax cracker you can make. In my recipe thread there is a recipe as well...with an note about the limit as well.

Having a rung 1 party for ya...I'm dancing...like it's my birthday....looking for the hula hoop...I won't bug you for at least one week...LOL....

Shauna...this is going to sound weird but the other day I had it with the lettuce on the inside and the meat (chicken sandwich meat) on the outside...totally different taste...liked it way better. I think that idea came from the recipe thread.

Hey Carmella! Nice to see ya! Sorry to hear DH and you are sick!!! Look at you so close to Onderland! And I see you will be joining Sassy on rung one soon...good to have a goal.

Busy busy here. Gotta go tuck in the kids...night all!

PS. I just tried the colder version of the cream cheese & sweetener and well.. I can handle lil licks here and there, but I couldn't eat it all in one sitting. That bowl may last all week. LOL

Stress is a reason for sure, and you're not alone on that ride! As for planning way ahead.. excuse me for a moment while I laugh my head off.. I never plan way ahead! OMG.. I think my family would go into shock if I even started trying to do something so practical as that! I almost always wing it.. my Dh wants me to make a recipe book and we were trying to come up with a name for it if I ever were to and it went something like this "Just Wingin It The Low Carb Way!" hahaha.. Apparently I have talent at wingin up good grub. It's good to know I'm good at something Whenever I ask my family now what they want for dinner, they always say.. something low carb! haha Ohh boy. I hear feel the same about climbing rungs, due to the fact that I also have lots of weight to go myself.. but I was bullied into climbing up to rung #1, which is where I'll remain till the end of time! haha Please know that I'm here for you too, remember that!

Reorganizing your craft room sounds like fun.. I love craft stuff.. I got into scrap booking, making necklaces & bracelet's. It was alot of fun, but I have not done any of it for quite some time now. My Dh figures I could sell my jewelry on ebay Umm yeah.. anyways.. I can only hope your tummy was half as sore as mine was/is.. I think I need to put a box of tissues by my computer due to the tears from laughing so hard! About your "tck" "tck" .. I was singing it for hours! Hahaha.. even makin the lil tongue clucks or is that clicks? lmao Sweet nut.. low carb nut.. I'll take yah whatever kinda nut you are! I think I know the perfect place for the Nutri Cleanse.. garbage can! hahaa .. I don't want it.. to many rungs to have to worry about as I'm never leaving #1 The bag she gave me is smallish like 4x5ish and the one they had there for sale was huge! It was more like 11x12 or something? I have no clue what the price was either and I don't care to know. lol But then I have that other stuff, so I have to figure it out or I'll just stumble upon something that says flax seed (milled) whatever that means A Flax cracker.. ohh boy.. that sounds ummm.. nummy.. ~not~ "Having a rung 1 party for ya...I'm dancing...like it's my birthday....looking for the hula hoop..." Ohh don't go getting to excited there Elsie, as I don't wanna see yah hurt yourself! I have to get myself back into eating breakfast and lunch, and I would like to see me getting back into writing it all down. I know how much it helps, but it's just too much like work! I'm pretty much just eating dinner these days.. really scrumptious dinners, but alas it's only one meal a day which I know isn't enough. When I read "I won't bug you for at least one week...LOL.." I needed some tissues! You're good for me!

I hope all works out for you in regards to buying a house. It is alot of stress that's for sure! If I may put my 2 cents in here.. the 1st day you joined up here or weighed yourself.. that should be your weigh-in day only. Once a week is healthy and is alot more accurate than daily weighing, also on that same day you should take your measurements. Let your body have a week to wow you! No matter what you decide, I only wish the very best for you.

Way to stick to the challenge gf! As for the pills, I am a firm believer of Advil Gel Caps.. the green ones that are for Migraines and even the research showed they aren't like the rest. I love how we label foods hahaha a lettuce roll up thing lol.. well as long as you enjoyed the thing, that's all that matters!
