    It might.

It is what Dr. Phinney used in a few studies on low-carbohydrate diets in order to control mineral balance in his subjects.

A doctor could recommend you the appropriate supplements... in the appropriate amounts.

Just a random thought here... What is your protein intake (in grams)?

Re: cant take much more of this (cramps)

hey jake for some odd reason i have had leg and thigh cramps and other muscles as well have had cramps when they havent had cramps for many years maybe its a wierd virus going around? or maybe its the cold weather?

also the day b4 i got the cramps i tried 1/5 a cup of natural oats

anyways maybe try eating lots of fresh meat and some berries that may help

and you have been on the diet for a few months now? so your muscles should have many more insulin receptors on them so it may just be a virus makeing them sore or the cold weather

also a question after a week into the diet starting from that point has your cramps gotten any better? or are they still just as bad? or are they even worse?

edit: jake i just looked at your fitday i dont think your eating enough meat&fat if you are super active you gotta eat more than that

try atleast eating 6 eggs a day and 2 chicken breasts also add butter to your diet unsalted butter so you can eat lots of it

its really frustrating that the crampex seem to work ,im not sure what ingredient it is but one of them must be whats stopping the cramps ,also you said to up the eggs to 6 a day is that amount ok

jake, why not see a doctor. At the very leasy go to a sports trainer or physical therapist and get some deep tissue massage done then ask them about it. They must run into things like this and may have some solid suggestions for you. Just curious--how much stretching do you do? I get a lot of hamstring cramps and stretching morning and night helps a lot.

i do a lot of stretching morning and night , before and after training and i also do a lot of stretching at karate , my doctor would prob just say its down to my diet as she has always said i need a balanced low fat diet ,that is what is putting me off going to dr's
also im hoping as i go up the rungs they will go

Re: cant take much more of this (cramps)

do you work out every day really hard? maybe with all your new energy from this diet you have been working way more and thus your muscles cant keep up

that has happend to me at times my energy wants to keep going but my muscles have had enough

i worked out my chest and whent for higher weight and less reps and after a week or 2 i tired my chest muscles out and had to stop working them for awhile and had to go for more reps and less weight

and another time on the cardio on the max resistance i cant do that everyday my muscles tire out and need a break and also the glucose gets drained

if you do the same hard exercise everyday though thats maybe why your geting cramps no one can do that

and also you can stretch too much if your stretching to the point it hurts and you do that everyday that may not be good

and also i should note these are my opinions that may help with your muscle cramps if you try them and there not working then try other things

                          -----

and also to comment on my preivious post my muscle cramps have gone away i guess it was just a wierd bug for me xD i also am still eating a little natural oats each day testing them out soo far there not causeing any real harm to me so im gonna keep eating them and increase the amount and see what happens xD btw oats are Rung 9 not allowed for you yet i think

and i ate alot of fat that day and a little oats to my surprize i did not really get stomach problems normally when i eat a rung 7 or higher food i would get some stomach problems along with it i guess the oats are natural and are handled easier by the body this is just my first test though but its about time i tested them i have been meaning to test them for almost a year now i think

Jake, I've done some research about his quickly, and some people also suggested corral calcium and super b complex.
