Hello fellow ADBB members and future friends!
My name is Ron, and I'm over weight.
I have been on the front lines of Battle of the Bulge since age 20 at 179 pounds when the Air Force told me I was overweight and needed to lose 10% of my total body weight to be at my "ideal" weight. That was back in 1985 and in the last 24 years, I've managed to add on weight and now I am 257 pounds.
Well, that's it~ I've had enough.
What I plan on doing is what I'm going to label as the 50-50-50 plan.
Step 1: 50 meals; focused on making it 1 meal at a time
Step 2: 50 days; focused on making it 1 day at a time
Step 3: 50 pounds; focused on making it 1 pound at a time
I figure a mason doesn't pull up to a job site and stand at the front of a 5,000 square foot building and go, "This'll take 30,000 bricks to do, I'll never get it done!" and walk away... No, he starts with brick #1 and he just keeps at it one brick at a time and then one day, before he knows it, he's putting in the last brick and then he's done.
Well that's the attitude I'm going to take; one brick at a time.
I'm starting Monday, November 2nd, 2009.
Brick #1, meal #1, day #1.
I WILL make it ~ 1 meal at a time and before I know it, I'll be at 50 meals. That's just 10 days into it! That's all! Then, I'll only be 40 days away from the next goal of 50 days. And before you know it, I'll reach THAT goal too. And by then, I'll be well on my way to my third goal of 50 pounds.
I'll be here every day getting to know all of you and leaning on you for support as well as being your support friend too.
If any of you would like to join me in this 50-50-50 journey, I'd love to have some company!
Let's do this; one brick at a time!
Looking forward to your comments and suggestions,
Ron
