    What to do...

Well I have been following a more High Fiber diet this past week or so and to be honest, I miss Atkins . I feel much better but I have been more focused on getting enough fiber then on how many carbs I am eating and the extra carbs are making me bloat.

As of this morning I was 161.7...three pounds (almost 4) of bloat and I can feel it. So now I am ready to get back into the game...but I still need more fiber. I have experimented and 30-35g of fiber works just as good at 40-50g to me, so my question is...What foods should I eat to be able to reach my fiber goal of 35g with out going over my CCLL of 40?

I have a fiber supplement that are 5/6g per tbs. I can have up to 3 tbs a day, but I usually do 2 tbs. So that is at least 10g right there...

    Any help is appreciated.

Have you incorporated pumpkin and spaghetti squash into your diet yet?? I like a pumpkin treat with flax added.

Have you tried eating an oak table?

All I can advise you is to pick the highest fiber foods you can eat. It's going to be a balancing act, especially if you want to eat lower carb. For example, there are about 30 total carb grams in 1/2 cup of oatmeal porridge, but only 4 grams of fiber.

LOL, that one of the things that I haven't tried yet .

I have been trying to get most of my fiber from fruit and veggies, but I do have a bowl of bran flakes in the morning that has 31 carbs but only 4/5g fiber...suckish.

That was one of the things I could never understand about the "eat grains...they are a good source of fiber" when they have about 2-4 grams fiber serving.

I know! It is so silly, thats why I opted for fruit...figured it had to be better for me then bread or pasta (whole wheat of course).

Have you tried fiber pills? They do work BUT...what really frustrated me about fiber pills was that I had to take six of them for 3g of fiber!

I saw them but also didn't like the fact I had to take so many of them. That is why I bought this :

                  1 tbs = 5,8g fiber
                  Only 2,7 NET Carbs aswell.

It says you can have up to 3 tbs a day for 17,4g of fiber but I usually do 2.
You mix it into yogurt, oatmeal, or really anthing (it has a whole list) and you let it set for 10 minutes. It is made from sugarbeets.

Mmm oak tables. I have never tried to get 30 fibre so I don't know the challenge.
I guess choosing the most fiber rich veggies will be good
Nuts, beans and bran are good
Do you bake? You can make a zucchini muffin with almond meal and wheat bran, oat bran and flax meal.

A MiM has almost 9 g of fiber and only about 3 net carbs (depending if you make it sweet, savory, with cinnamon, etc.). Wouldn't it be better than bran flakes?

These three sample menus (only veggies, avocado and olives included) were posted by Atkins_Nutritionist at LCF, for someone wondering how to get enough dietary fiber in.

Can't you easily find flax seeds in the Netherlands? In Germany, it's in every store and it's very cheap (something like 50 cents for 400-500 g). I think the name in German is "Leinsamen" (which is more like linseeds... the way they are called in the UK)... but I don't have a box now... and my German is crappy.
