  • Starting over- will I see the entire weight gain tomorrow?

I have been doing Induction for 17 days.
Today, I messed up BIG TIME. I seriously had so much pecan pie! AAH!
    And other things.

    SOOOOO....

the funny thing is, I've lost 17 pounds, weird right?

    And I was wondering:

    a) Will i gain back all 17 pounds? (I dont think i will...but I really am not sure, and you all seem to know more than me about this! )

and b) Will I see whatever weight I do gain, all tomorrow...as in if I start induction over tomorrow, then will I lose by the next day, or keep gaining from my screwing up.

    Any ideas?

    and you know it.....

Your questions have been answered here:

And ... you don't need to "start over" ... you just continue on.

      That's for YOU to determine.

Start off by getting a copy of the book!

Just continue on with a couple of days of Induction to get you back into ketosis. Yes you will gain back some, at least temporarily, but get back on track and go on from there. It will take a couple of days to sort things out.

I posted this because I wanted to know how much weight you would guess I would gain from this, because 5 pounds, and 17 pounds is a big difference!

It depends on each person and the cheat. For me personally, I will gain 5-10 pounds of water weight from a cheat. I also retain water pretty easily if I eat anything questionable, so it might just be my body.

Regardless...put the scale away for a week and get back on the horse!

I will ONLY weigh once per week! I will refer to DANDR 2002 and this forum when I have questions. I will revel in new recipes, new clothes, and the new feeling of being happy in my skin. I will hold myself accountable to do this the right way, without excuses, because I know that Atkins is the best thing for my health and happiness. I. Will. Succeed!

              There's no way to know.

And you're focusing on the wrong thing here!

And ... it's not really going to be a permanent "gain" ... it's a bounce up ... you dumped "junk" in to your body ... and the bounce up is the price you have to pay.

                the wrong thing here
                ??

haha, but everybody on here displays their progress and weight on their tickers.

I don't have a higher god that tells me how much I've lost...i need the scale!

Because at least for me, some days I feel fat..and then get on the scale.."know" my weight, and feel thinner....or vice versa...so how i feel isn't really a good source for me.

Do I win something if my guess is correct?

Seriously, we can all post a random number here... but it won't help you, right? Whatever you'll gain, you'll gain. C'est la vie! That's what happens when you cheat.

And there will always be one person who gained less than you will (if you will...). In my experience, this kind of comparisons usually lead to nothing but disappointment.

Follow the plan correctly and the weight will come off. This is not a race.

                    Not everybody ... I don't have one.

                    >>i need the scale!>>

Maybe it's time to get over that addiction?

By that comment I meant that rather than spinning your wheels wondering how much this pecan pie and frankenfood whipped topping is going to cause you to "gain" ... you could spend the time getting a copy of the book ... and reading the Induction chapter ... and PLANNING how to be successful with your goals.

I understand the diet, I've read the induction chapter....I just need some peace of mind...

Honestly, I just wanted confimation that I wouldn't gain 17 pounds over night.
