    I also gained .2 lbs yesterday. I am still in moderate ketosis but feeling weak. I am not at all hungry, usually feel pretty stuffed after eating a small amount. I think I will not eat the almonds today and see if that makes a difference.


    just because you eat 20 or less net carbohydrates a day does not mean your doing atkins

    almonds are rung 3

    grains are rung 9 so unless that Foccaccia Bread is made out of flax seeds or eggs or something induction legal then its not allowed during induction

    your not supos to drink coffee or diet coke i know your addicted too caffeine and its hard to quit but it can cause problems. also that diet coke should not have any aspartame in it aspartame is bad for your health and is known to cause weight loss stalls

    but really with food choices like that its no wonder your feeling so sick and doing so bad gaining weight and not able to get over the 14 day induction flu this Cabbage stew what is in it? just cabbage and water? or is it a store bought one thats full of potato starch and sugar

    you got to eat natural whole foods meat, vegetables and eggs that you make yourself that are not from a dangerous restaurant

    by the way about your muscles being sore heres the reason

      I bought my Cal-Mag at The Vitamin Shoppe. It's calcium and magnesium. You shoule be able to find it at the store, or a health food store.

        Regarding coffee and diet sodas, I see a lot of people on here that still drink it. I've been having coffee as well. As long as it doesn't trigger any cravings, I thought you can still drink it

          decaffeinated coffee or tea is ok

          diet pop alot of the time has aspartame which is bad

          if you got diet pop thats caffeine free and sweetened with splenda it maybe ok to have once in awhile but still its not a healthy drink so water would be better to have

            I think you need to read all the rule links, read the book and just restart from scratch. If you are in induction you are way off base with that menu. Not too late to get it right though. Good luck

              All of my recipes, including the bread and cabbage patch stew were found on another atkins support site and were said to be induction friendly. The bread is made from flax. The soup is all vegetables---cabbage, celery, onion, green pepper with a can of chopped tomatoes and a pound of ground beef. Guess I had better start over. I thought if I could just keep under 20 carbs a day I would lose weight instead of gaining. My coffee and diet soda are both decaf.

                Here we follow Atkins 2002 (the last book Atkins wrote) It is very clear on what works. And if you can eat whole foods and only what is on the list you will be better off.

                The Atkins company is not the same as the Atkins diet. They are a commercial company selling products. Their recipe page is full of errors. Be very careful when you use it.

                  Could use some tips on breakfast ideas if I have to give up McDonalds. I get up at 3:30 each morning and it takes an hour to get to work, have to be there by 5:00 and am very tired an cannot even think about nor have time for preparing something to eat.

                    Make something in advance. Keep in the fridge. This is what I do for my early day. Not quite as early as yours but early enough.
                    I suggest crustless quiche. It warms up very quickly in the microwave.

                      When I did Atkins last year I dropped dramatically the first week and then I would gain .2 and then .4 and then drop 1-2 lbs (all within 3 days). And then gain .2 to .4 and then drop a lot, another 1-2 lbs. I weigh myself everyday too.

                      Here are my weights from this week:

                      Monday 144.60
                      Tuesday 144.80
                      Wednesday 144.00
                      Thursday 143.00
                      Friday 143.00

                      So you can see what my scale did but as of Monday I am 1.8 lbs down (from highest in 3 days). Not bad for me.

                      Take your supplements and you might want to take a potassium supplement if you are getting cramps at night. They are only sold otc at 3mg. But it's better than having a deficiency of potassium.

                      Best of luck and don't fret the scale if you plan on weighing everyday.

                          I take potassium supplement too along with b-12, calcium and a multivitamin.

                            Which is the problem - you need loads of potassium - 3 mg is a spit in the bucket and not worth paying for.
                            My pills are 100 mg and even that is not a lot

                              I understand that it's miligrams, but only 3? My multivitamin has about 30 times that much.

                                The quiche is very good. You can also get some veggies this way. If you do a search, you will find a number of recipes. Since you make them in a muffin tin, you can make a whole weeks worth at once.

                                If you don't have access to a microwave at work, some hard boiled eggs, celery and sweet pepper sticks, and pieces of cheese are some portable make-ahead ideas.
