Re: New Atkins for a New You - anyone have it?

You know one of my favorite parts so far has to do with something we all struggle with from time to time.

It is on page 163 and is called Wouldn't You Rather..

It is about how we go along and kind of lose our way and can lose our resolve, thinking this or that will not hurt when we KNOW it will.

How to keep from self sabotage is a hard thing for many.

It is just a little blurb but it gives you things to ask yourself or think about before you eat that one bite of the wrong thing..

There are some differences. But it is actually (in my opinion) closer to the 2002 than we have actually seen in the last couple of books from the company. This one does not tell people to eat rye bread on induction for instance
I think the basic thing is the same. An induction period where most of your carbs come from low glycemic veggies (and they really push this in the book) and the OWL where you add other carbs gradually while still losing.

Liv, do you know if low carb yogurt is "allowed" during induction? From what I read at their forum yogurt is allowed. But that was before the new book came out. Thank you.
Do you want a solution, or do you want me to tell you what you want to hear, which is what kept you the way you are.

It actually does not list LC yogurt as part of the induction list but later in OWL.

I really like the way they broke down the allowed foods and even published what is not allowed to avoid confusion...

Their rule for induction says "No cow or goat milk of any sort, yogurt, cottage cheese or ricotta for now"

Very specific! Thanks. IMO its even sad that they "allow" it at a different phase as LC yogurt is normally made of ingredients that I can't pronounce.

BTW Baylor I just wanted to say it is cool that you are one of the examples in the book. I always kind of wondered if those were really real people. And here you are.
Yes I agree Mirna - those are wonderful progress.
Love to hear more comments about the book as more people read it.

Wow I also agree it's great a real person from here is in the new book! I won't be buying it though as feel dandr 2002 is my bible at the moment and am following it strictly but it's good there is more food choices and options for vegetarians and vegans in it as I have heard.I think like anything diets etc need to be brought forward to suit people and as research goes on obviously new ways will be discovered but for me right now I am sticking with the 2002 version!

Thank you much to everyone - I am so excited about getting the book now. I eat very little meat so I am really looking forward to reading about the veggie and vegan options. I'm so glad you posted here Baylor - I am so much looking forward to reading your story and being inspired by you!

i find this extremely hard to believe how can the core plan stay the same while at the same time many more options for Vegans? being Vegan is down right insain and is so unhealthy it will kill you. but real atkins is eating healthy and being healthy

however you can be vegetarian and still do atkins cause they eat eggs and fish so did you mean vegetarian?
