Re: Frustrated Diabetic
I just want to wish you well. I am new to the site.
I "was" a type 2 but it resolved when i lost 90lbs having a gastric bypass.
[i will never regret it]
I regained some due to bad eating habits and forced bedrest while pregnant.
there is a DANDR for diabetics and i am getting ready to read it now.
Even though my A1C is now 5.6, I will always consider myself a Diabetic. Though i had a doctor say i was "cured"...lol
There've been some good tips given here for you. Def. worth testing more to see what's going on. My suggestion would be is this:
Get the Diabetic Atkins; read it.. [of course silly me]
make a meal plan for the week, so that it is easier to stay on track. you could grill your seasoned chicken..etc. and freeze/store them until you need them [have you thought of prepacking your meals while out of the house? I myself own a nifty keep it cold food storage container that stacks inside a tote w/ a freezer pack]
A suggestion was made for you to test more often. I would agree. you remember.. the am wake up test; the before and after breakie; same before lunch and dinner and bed. remember to test 2hrs after the meal. who knows maybe you need a snack before bed
remember to chart it in a logbook; or a food diary.. face it we all need one... buy a little memo book to record eating/exercise/testing... I think you need this extra testing for a baseline to show the endo.
Then after sufficient time go see your endo and show him what you logged.
Truely it is very important to log daily.
For a nifty "lunch/snack/dinner box i love this one.. i may have o get it to convert to Atkins use.
