        1. Examine your journal entries. Tell what changes in attitudes, feelings, etc. you may have had over the course of the past 7 or 8 days. Tell how this WOE and the feeling of BEING WORTH IT, will help you take control of stay on track. Tell of any insights or AH HA! moments you might have had during the time of this challenge.


        I've really enjoyed this challenge as its made me think about what I want from this woe and why I'm doing this, what I'm hoping to achieve. I've realised that its more than just the physical changes I'm making to my body, its also the emotional changes that are happening as I make this journey. I'm stronger than ever before and more in control. The feeling of control is actually a heady experience and one I do not want to loose.

        2. What positive changes are you looking forward to as you continue to make your journey doing Atkins?

        I will be walking every day for min 30 mins. No excuses, no work committments to get in my way. I must do this for myself. I will be extra vigilant on what I choose to put in my mouth. No little cheats for a moment of gratification but a week of guilt!

        As with the assignments use your journal and use this thread to post your answers. See, the journaling had a purpose.

        I never doubted it Jimmie! Thank you so much for this wonderful challenge. I have found it thought provoking and did not think I would ever enjoy homework again, but I did and looked forward to it. You're a star!

          take as much time as needed to digest it all, fuschia. i think maybe the longer it takes, perhaps the more imbedded it will become. maybe it's baby steps but at least its forward motion!

            several things you said really made me smile. you're getting the family involved and starting them on a healthy lifestyles of being active, you want to inspire others perhaps without saying a word...just letting you quote do the work and the challenge has you looking at yourself differently and giving you permission to think of yourself. all good good things.
            I exercise with my daughter. My son sees me taking control and sticking with this. He's even talking about doing the ab workout

Like many women, I tend to think of others before myself and discounted how I felt or forgot about satisfying my own needs. There is no need to feel guilty about doing something good for yourself and making your life better by getting healthy. We are all worth it ...worth the time and effort it takes to buy, cook, and eat healthy meals and making the time to work out to make us the best that we can be.

              2. What positive changes are you looking forward to as you continue to make your journey doing Atkins? I'm looking forward to not having so many guilty moments if I do something nice for myself. Why should I feel guilty? I realize it is a hard habit to break, and changing those feelings won't be easy. But now I should be able to catch myself and verbally say, "I am worth it!"

                half the battle, perfect! if you can overcome the emotional i have no doubt the rest will fall into place!

                        Through this challenge I have learned not to rush things. All things take time. When I first started I kept reading other peoples posts of how they lost lots of weight fast...and I was jealous. Now I realize that everyone loses their own way and if you stick to it..it will happen for everyone. It is happening for me now as well and I am happy that I have learned to have patients with it. Also thru this challege it got me out and post on the board more. I have been primarily a lurker reading and searching posts to find information...but now I realize you don't have to be the most knowledgable...biggest loser...oldest member to contribute. Sometime just a simple congratulations or good job can brighten someones day. Everyone has something to contribute...even me.

                        I look forward to continuing in this WOL, joining more challenges (they are fun and keep me focused and honest) and getting to my goal.

                                TUESDAY'S ASSIGNMENT:

                                DAY 7 Tuesday
                                We Will Succeed

                                1. Examine your journal entries. Tell what changes in attitudes, feelings, etc. you may have had over the course of the past 7 or 8 days. Tell how this WOE and the feeling of BEING WORTH IT, will help you take control of stay on track. Tell of any insights or AH HA! moments you might have had during the time of this challenge.

                                - While I don't think I really had any changes in my attitudes and feeling over the course of the past 7 or 8 days, I have been given the gift of an affirmation. What I mean by that is, I restarted Atkins on February 25th of this year after a 2 year fall off of the wagon. I went into it this time with a determination that I would do whatever it takes to do this right and that means that I would have to put myself first. This is a hard step for a lot of women to take... it goes against our nature. I have managed to put myself first this time, and the assignments this week have reaffirmed that I AM WORTH IT.
                                -Self respect is a question of recognizing that anything worth having has a price... and I AM WORTH IT.


                                2. What positive changes are you looking forward to as you continue to make your journey doing Atkins?

                                - I am looking forward to remaining active on the board and developing friendships. I also enjoy helping others when I can, and it will be nice when I can be one of the goalies that give great advice.
                                - I am looking forward to becoming a better cook. To tell you the truth, I really don't cook that many different things for myself. While I look at Linda's recipe website a lot, I have only made one thing on it. I never have enjoyed cooking and don't know much about it. I am ready to change that... because I AM WORTH IT.
                                - I am looking forward to enjoying exercise more. While it has gotten better, I am still not to the loving it stage. I know that if I would put more effort and structure into it, I would get more fit and that would make me enjoy it more. I am going to be more consistent with my exercising now because I AM WORTH IT.
