      i love my veggies! it was easier to take a pic than it was to list everything.

          Joy is an example of that. She's been tweaking her diet to suit her body and she put in for 30-35 veg carbs a day.

          There's some healthy eating going on over here.

          Silly, my percentages are always off because I like fat so much better than protein. While I do note percentages, the only way I ever use them is to make sure that I don't go over 30% on protein... other than that, I don't really use them.

          OK - I am happy to report that I tried a new veggie today. My only experience with asparagus has been with the canned kind. Hubby actually likes the canned kind with a dollop of mayo on top as a treat. Other than pumpkin and mushrooms, I don't like canned veggies... so I thought that I hated asparagus. I bought a fresh, 16 ounce bunch of them, and sauteed/fried them in butter and oil in a skillet on the stove. OMG! Very good... I ate the entire bunch for lunch. That was 28 medium sized spears! Filled me up, that's for sure.

          So, today I had .88 cups of pumpkin; a salad that contained 2 cups of lettuce, few slices of cucumber, 2 slices of red onion, and a small tomato; 4 ounces of fresh green beans, 28 medium spears of asparagus; 1 raw, whole, red bell pepper..... TOTAL: 32 NET VEGGIE CARBS

          Yay! Keep up the great work, everyone.

            Jimmie, I see some veggies that I recognize, but others...I HAVE NO CLUE!!! What's the white thing? I recognize cauliflower, but the white carrot thing? Then you have some odd ones around the jicama...and other odd ones above the cauliflower and to the left of the carrots.

            Today I had 19 net carbs from red bell peppers, cucumbers, Swiss chard, zucchini, broccoli, and cauliflower.
            HW=250+/222/GW=175 37F/5'7
            Revamped my WOL starting 2/10/08.

              Day 1 Veggie challenge

              3 carbs--1/2 cup kraut
              1 carbs--1/2 cup sliced cucumber
              4 carbs--1/2 cup green beans
              5 carbs---1/2 cups of sauteed red peppers and onions


              Total of 13 carbs.

                Happy to report my vegies for the day! 3 oz. red bell pepper, 1 oz. gr. bell pepper, 1 lg mushroom, 1 cup zuchinni, 2 cups mixed green salad, 4 slices cucumber, 4 olives for a total of 19 NET VEGIE CARBS.

                  19 net carbs for me...OWL

                  1 cup cauliflower
                  1/2 cup brocolli
                  I cup spaghetti squash
                  1 cup mixed salad
                  1 cup spinich
                  1 cup pumpkin

                  wow seems like a lot, but total 19 net carbs

                  soup looks GREAT Silly, and all those veggies look delish jimmie!

                    I have two kids ones is two and one is two months. I only have time to drop in and post my total which is 22 g net carbs. Tomarrow I will post specifics. One of them is sick and the other got shots today.

                      Sorry to hear about your kids not feeling well, Vanessa. I hope that they feel better, soon. Don't worry about posting specifics when you have so little time. I think that the total number is what is required, and you gave that. I post specifics mostly to provide ideas for anyone who is stuggling to think of what to eat.

                        1.5 cups celery = 4 carbs
                        2 cups lettuce = 2 carbs
                        8 grape tomatoes = 4 carbs
                        Faux mashed potatoes (cauliflower -new veggie of the week) = 2 carbs
                        1/2 cup green beans = 3 carbs
                        1 cup cucumber = 3 carbs
                        *GRAND TOTAL = 18 carbs

                        I also had broccoli quiche = 3 carbs total (not sure how to factor that in).

                            you see mushrooms, okra, cucumber, daikon radish (white carrot looking thing ) carrots, jicams, chayote (left of jicama), cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage tomatoes, red radishes, canned pumpkin, canned sauerkraut, brussel sprouts, kolarabi (at the top of the cauliflower), a bag of greens, a couple different kinds of squash

                                Hey Jimmie, i had the silver floss saurkraut for dinner, that was good, but i also noticed it had sugar after i ate it...i think it's added sugar....oops. some of those veggies look scary.
