    Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

    Today, Friday:
braekfast: 2 eggs scrambled, 1c decaf w/cream, handful of sunflower seeds.
lunch: 3 cups green beans, cooked w/butter
snack: cottage cheese with raspberries (ca 1 cup alltogether), Tbs of whipped cream om top
dinner: cucumber slices dipped in cream cheese

what about that "stay away from dairy"? I just can't seem to accomplish this! I don't know what else to eat lol...

oh, and I did my exercise today! 30 min rollerblading and an hour biking - but biking was with kid on "back seat" and another to keep an eye on - thus not fast.

Well, ice cream + TOM = loss of two pounds. Go figure. Still poofy though, so although I feel vindicated for eating ice cream somehow, I still don't look as good as I did last week! (Although, let's be fair, today is day one of TOM!).

Today so far: NY STrip steak and green beans!

Hey moonie- where's your protein in your menu yesterday? Are you a vegetarian?

It must be national dairy month...for me today it was a bagel and cream cheese....then honey roasted peanuts...5 "0 net carb" popsicles...and...uh...a few wine coolers to drown my sorrow for SCREWING UP!!!!!!! So...I guess for some of us, its try try again tomorrow? Please don't put me on the butchers block...I promise there's some staying power left in me somewhere. I just have to summon it stronger than before apparently.
(Don't go too easy on me either. I need to hear I screwed up in order to not be too easy on myself.)

Best of luck to all of us on a perfect day tomorrow!

Well I'm certainly not going to put you on the butcher's block, tha'ts for sure!

the important thing is to just hop back on the wagon! I did it today (and I even have ice cream left in my freezer!) - steak and green beans for lunch, salmon stuffed with spinach and feta/pine nuts for dinner. That's all you can do really - what's done is done, put it behind you and know that you'll do better tomorrow.

            Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

            Yikes!!!!

So much for screwing up - I think I've joined Marion there but I take the cake! (almost literally)

Yesterday started out really well - I had curry spinach & red cabbage 3-egg omelette for brekkie, then made myself a smoked salmon and hard-boiled egg caesar salad for lunch. DF suggested we meet up for Korean food - my absolute weakness - the food I have grown up with but don't cook very well, so every time we go out it becomes a real treat and real indulgence for me as we don't eat it very often.

So for dinner, we ordered some beautiful fried yellow-tail fish, a tofu & seafood hot bean soup/casserole, some of the famous Korean "jap-che" - which is stirfried potato noodles with beef & veg, and some spicy bbq pork, and of course all the side dishes that came with it plus a little rice coz some of the food was a bit too salty for me. We had finished dinner by 6:30 and earlier in the day I had power-walked to work, plus gone for that walk down to the water at lunch-time, so I was feeling energetic and rather ok with my dinner, until...

when we got home I had to have those Cadbury boost bars again - UGHHHHH!!! My one and only sweet vice which I had taken a long time to get rid of my addiction, cravings for (I'm sorry Marion... ) and to make things worse, just after that I had a cupful of some spicy indian snacks of green peas & nuts.

Honestly, when I'm good, I'm really good. When I'm bad, I just keep going and snowballing, thinking if I'm gonna stuff up I stuff up really good.

But it's Saturday today!!!!!! I need to start over, and I started my day with an hour of ki-yoga. I feel re-energised, now I just hafta wait 48 hours to get all these glucose in my blood out of my system to get back into ketosis. *sigh* I'm sorry guys, I feel like I've let down our challenge.

Well, that's three of us now. I think Moonwish wins! ;-)

How about we make a 'new' challenge. A challenge to finish out the rest of the challenge?

I was good today!!!! YEAH!!!!! I did have some 0 carb total popsicles...it was that or something much worse to get me past the day after sugar craving. Tomorrow should be easier.
                B. 2 1 carb sausage patties, 2 eggs, 2 sl. cheese
                L. grilled chicken salad with crumbled bacon and Cheddar cheese with 1 g. ranch dressing
                S. 3 brats.

Oh and those SF no carb popsicles....not as bad as yesterday at any rate.

                      Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

Well, I didn't have anything illegal other than some wine and I'm up 2 lbs. I admit I didn't drink enough water and probably didn't eat enough in general. But I didn't go after all the junk food in my pantry.

Hopefully the 2 lbs will go away this week. I think I did really good. Hubby & I went grocery shopping yesterday and you know how they have those old ladies making samples of food? Well, one was doing tapioca. I LOVE tapioca!!!! He asked me if I wanted some and I said "NO!!! I am NOT cheating!!!"

Although the wine was cheating, I did good food wise. You guys can do this! We all need to plan ahead better. If you go to the Second Time Around Forum, you will find a thread called The Neverending Recipe Thread or something like that. There are some AWESOME recipes to get you through the sweet tooth weaknesses legally.

I'm definitely up for another challenge

                        Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

yeah, planning is what got me this week. As long as I have food cooked or ready to cook I'm usually okay. but when I do'nt I let myself get hungry and then bad things happen. I'm headed out of town again though *sigh* but I'm staying at a friends house so I'll just refuse to go out to eat. ;-P

You don't have to avoid eating out Knick. Just make wise choices. Every restaurant has something you can have. I know that salads get old. I will usually order some kind of meat, maybe extra salad and give away the potato/rice.

However, if the restaurant you're going to doesn't have anything on our "legal" list, then yes, I would either avoid going or suggest a restaurant that is more Atkins friendly

well that's what I did in phillly and things were weird.

breaded chicken on the caesar salad
                            rice in my seafood stew

etc... it was really hard to figure out what to order! *sigh* But, I have no money anyway so it'll be better to do it that way.
