      Hey Cleo!! Hello All!! I know you goys started this challange almost a month ago, but I want in!! I've never done a challange but I think it's what I need to get my big butt going! I fell off the wagon too, but I want to do this right. I'm so tired of being fat and it's my fault!! I'm going to take my son to Disney World on Christmas night and staying until Jan. 1st. I will be thin by then!! I'm going to ring in this New Year at goal!!! I know I'm not the only one who wants to have a resolution for 2006 that is maintaining my weight. Even to continue to lose weight. Year after year, there I sit, swearing to get thin...well no more!! I want to be able to enjoy my vacation. I don't want to be all outta breath from chasing my son!! WE can do this!!! If it's cool I join, could someone tell me what I have to do? Well, that's all for now...BYE EVERYBODY!!

        C'mon in, jsj, and welcome!

        You sound just like me when I put this challenge to myself a year ago! You are ready to have this weight come off, and I know you'll do it.

        Rules? Just skin the thread when you can and read some of the discussions we've had regarding this challenge and the holidays. We already got through Labor Day! Now we'll start to focus on Halloween because of the early candy sales!

        We weigh in once a week.

        What weight do you hope to hit by December 31, and, more importantly, what is something to plan to do this week which will help you reach that goal?

          I am down .5 pound today! I am thrilled with that as I had not lost anything for over 2 weeks. Keep up the good work everyone! Thanks so much for the encouragement!


          When I went to Costco this week, it really hit me how hard the next few months are going to be to stay in control and on plan. The Halloween candy, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and cooler weather here in Ohio that just seems to make you want to bake something yummy will all be things that I personally will have to battle. We can do it though. We are worth it.

            I'm crawling in to report I had gained a couple of pounds over night...grrrrr. I changed my siggy to 216.0 because it was up yesterday at 214 too...it's just all icky! The bright side, yes, Virginia, there is a bright side....the inches are still coming, it's just the water rention from all this exercise. And who said exercise was all that good anyways??? huh???

            Hang in there everyone! Well get there! Stepping off scale and staying off until next monday....if it kills me.

              19 pounds in 2 weeks? WHOA!!!! Well, you have inspired me to join. I too, would like to be in onederland by new years. I haven't seen the ones in like 8 years so I'm excited to be so close!

                  Im a little depressed. I got home and decided to weigh in since I signed up for this challenge. I hadn't weighed in a while (and I have been cheating), and I was up to 240 again! 17 pounds back. Now, I don't know if it is because it is TOM for me or simply because of my cheats, but man do I feel like kicking myself. I guess I have a little more than 34 pounds to get to my mid year resolution challenge weight of 199. Now it looks like 41 pounds. Hopefully TOM has something to do with the extra weight, but either way I WILL be 199 by 1/1/06. My goal this week is to get back to exercising 5-6 days a week. I did a FIRM tape today for the first time, and even though I stumbled a lot (it is pretty fast paced) I am hoping that by next Wednesday I will be doing the tape without a hitch!

                    Okay, Cleo. My ultimate goal, is 120. I'm gonna try my hardest to reach it, BUt I'm not sure how realistic that is. What do you guys think?? If I can't get there, I know I can get pretty darn close!! Lastnight I bought an Ab Lounger 2. My friend swears by it, so I figure it couldn't hurt!! I definately HATE the Halloween candy! It also reminds me that my b-day is the day after!!! No B-day cake for me!! WEll, I"m really glad to be part of this challange. THanks for having me! Oh yea, do you guys measure yourselves every week as well??

                      I agree that Halloween is a killer, especially when I am very convincing when I tell myself it's for the kids... riiiiiiight! This year I'm taking the kids out trick-or-treating rather than staying home and handing out candy!

                      {{{Lisa}}} That reads like water weight to me. I usually won't add that back into the chalenge because it is temporary. If you really want me to update, I will, but it's not something I'd even worry about! You rock, girl!

                      {{{Jaria}}} Thank you! Actually, I lost 21 pounds in about a week. *lol* I know, I know... Welcome to the challenge! I'll get you added right in! To onederland we go! And don't fret about things like that-- it happens to all of us from time to time! Through introducing new habits, we can and will change to not focus on food but on other real underlying issues! I'm psyhed about your exercise routine. I plan to keep you accountable, girl! I exercised for an hour yesterday! Check in and let us know how the exercise is going.

                      {{{jsj}}} Welcome to the challenge! The nice thing about Atkins is that there are foods you CAN have to celebrate your birthday. check out the recipes section. There is a newer thread there regarding what to eat on a birthday. Other options include skipping the cake and going out dancing, to a movie, or putt-putt golfing instead! We Americans make everything about food... what if it became more the events, the fun and the people around us? I'll take a look at your goal and let's see how we can get you there! Again, welcome!

                        Lisa, if you reallllly want me to update you I will, but it's just water retention. Your call.

                        jsj-- You should measure yourself at LEAST every 2 weeks! Sometimes the scale doesn't move, but your inches are falling off.

                        Also, your goal will be a little more tough being that you are already so close to goal (technically), but you know what? We won't know until you try! Let's work your tukus off and see where we get! I'll bet that you'll be close!

                        Let me know if I've accidentally missed you or biffed your numbers. Thank you! And way to go, ladies!!!
