LOL. I've measured everything but my IQ, and that usually registers in the negative numbers, and there's no need to depress myself!

Shelly, you just take the measurements I gave that you want to have count. I can't wait to see the show tonight!

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a bosom that's racing towards her kneecaps (or at least who finds it funny)!

                    Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

Hey all, I know I'm late, but I did watch the premiere and I'd like to join. I really liked the "goal outfit" thing. I've decided to dust off some old goal clothes from my closet and put them in a glass case in my bedroom. I might even take pictures of myself trying to squeeze into them. That would be a great photo array, wouldn't it? Instead of seeing the same outfit get looser and looser like we usually do in photos, the first picture would be me with my pants around my thighs, then maybe the next one with the pants pulled up but my gut exploding through the zipper area, then finally, they fit!

Shelly, if you could be so kind as to add my stats to the first post?

                    Starting weight: 187.5
                    Chest: 41.5"
                    Waist: 41"
                    Hips: 45.25"

I like that there's an external reminder for this challenge. Usually I sign up for challenges, post my weight occasionally, but never really think about it. Every Tuesday night I'm gonna be psyched for this!

                        Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

Ok, well, I convinced myself into doing my great idea of taking "before" pictures in my "after" outfit. I'm cracking up here, and you can too, if you want. So I've got my before weight, my before measurements, and now I've got before pictures too. This challenge has it all! The front view doesn't tell the whole story like the side view does. The pants are size 12, and the shirt is an XL. When does the Biggest Loser season end? I wonder if I'll be able to button my pants by then... or at least pull them up all the way. I was walking like a penguin between my camera and where I was posing for the camera. tee hee.

                          Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

                          Effie-- you are adorable!

Tonight I pushed myself really hard on the treadmill and did inclines 2-3! It was so hard, but I said to myself that if the people on that show can do it, then so can I!

I'll take some before photos, and then at the end maybe I'll post them with some 'afters' at the end of the challenge.

The fact that I am fatter than most of the women really hit home tonight, and I am having to face reality that I have a long way to go. Even with success I've had so far, it is humbling.

                            Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

I know what you mean Cleo. Before they weighed in, my husband and I were shouting our guesses at the TV. I was like 30 pounds high for most of the women. I figured if I'm 200, then she must be 250 or more, and then she'd only weigh in the 220's. I had to resist the urge to ask the "Am I fatter than that woman?" question over and over again.

I watched the show last night. I was thinking the same thing, she is bigger than I and then she stepped on the scale and she wasn't. Oh well.

                                Re: The Biggest Loser Challenge

I am so glad I wasn't the only one who felt that way. After watching that show I felt like the fat pig of 2005. I am so motivated to take this weight off, more than I even was yesterday--and I was motivated yesterday, too!

I don't in any way mean to demean those beautiful ladies or men on the show, but I look at the people who were near my starting weight of 325 (men), and I look at people smaller than me and think, "They look SO overweight!"

And then I'm like, "D'oh, Cleo! You are bigger than many of those women!"

And I just refuse to believe it.
So weight loss? I'm going to achieve it.

I was horrified watching those people pig out when they first arrived. Even now I would never do that. For one thing, on Atkins, my stomach has shrunk so much I wouldn't have made it past four nachos, a bite of cake and a slice of pizza! *lol*

I wish I could be on that show, though. I have a man's metabolism. I would be so totally kicking BUTT on those men!

                                Go ladies' team!
