Ha, I didn't even know we had different forums to post in for this challenge. I never have the time to look around the boards, so I just go straight to the main one which I am subscribed to. Anyhow, I am down to 229 today! Woohoo!

My toughest obstacle will be school. They give us free food all day (I'm there all of Saturday), bagels, chips, soda, cookies, candy, you name it.

I will overcome it by eating before I go and bringing a legal snack with me.

        No extra holidays here.

          Hi Everyone.

Still puttering away, stuck at the same weight. But I did have good news to share: I'm now wearing a size 12! Twelve. I really cannot fathom that, to be honest. But there are a pair of pants in my closet that say 12 on them!

All the 14s were too big. I can't believe that I was barely fitting into 14s 3 weeks ago. So while the scale isn't budging, my inches certainly are.

          Yay!
          Current: 194.5 / 179.5 / 145

Woohoo, rybread! A size 12! That just goes to show that when the scale's not moving, the inches are still dropping! Congratulations!

Hello all! Just wanted to report...171.2 this morning.

Anyone know how to update the ticker? I put so much work into picking it out, and never checked how to update..DUH!!

Cleo...thank you for your beautiful words in the other forum..they really made my heart smile I was also wondering...during the 6wec, how are we supposed to tell you or elsie our losses if we can't weigh? Is it only mandatory before and after, but you can if you want in between? I think I read it wrong...I'm so confused!
*Dieting makes you look good with your clothes on...exercise make you look good with them off.*

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge for the week of Sept. 18-24

Ok folks...I weighed in at 173.5 this morning...That's 1.5 down this week....Happy happy joy joy Now I just need to start exercising because that is my biggest challenge....Climbing stairs in my house counts a little bit right lol! Also, I changed my goal to 155 by New Years...I think I can handle the 5 extra pounds and it will make it more "challenging" (hence this is supposed to be a challenge)

So yay for 1.5 down and 18.5 to go!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge for the week of Sept. 18-24

What a great bunch of losers!!! WOo hooo!

Okay, so we've been talking about celebrations and facing them head on with plan of attack to go along. Here's the first one at my feet and I need a game face on. Some one please pass me their best game face!

Tomorrow's my youngest dd's 7th birthday. Yep, cake. Not just any other cake, but a homemade cake that her and I bake together as a yearly "Mommy & Me" tradition I've done every year with the girls since the time they could stand up at the counter either on a step stool or a big Daddy chair.....it was cheaper then buying store bought cakes, and it gave me and the girls a tradition my mom and I never had; so it's not going away. By the way, it's chocolate cake. And that's all I have to say about that! OH, and no. I won't be eating any.

You see, the last time I "cheated", ate something sweet, I got really ill. I was so ill I had to lay on the couch until the roomed stopped spinning and I could stop feeling like I was going to....well, you get the picture.

It's the dinner out that I'm not worried about, but the over eating part. We're going to a chinese buffet. They have fresh veggies and I've already checked out their chicken, beef & pork dishes and found out which ones have starch and which ones don't....there's a few selections for me to enjoy. I steer clear of the other things that contain the flour, rice, potato, breaded stuff, etc. and look forward to piling the cabbage high for pretend noodles!

I know going to a buffet and paying the godly amount of money doesn't give me the right to eat until my face falls off, the button on my pants pop open, and suddenly I look like the Staypuff Marshmellow Man.

                  Any suggestions? Ideas?

                  Thanks!

I'll be the one over here over strategizing in the corner...the over achiever with good intentions.

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge for the week of Sept. 18-24

                    Happy birthday, Lisa little!

I would say this: you get one plate-ful of food and that's all. Your tummy's about the size of your fist. Chew slowly. Take drinks in between bites. Cost-wise, the food ends up in the same place whether you eat it or not (and not going to starving children in Africa).

You know I love you and I know you will do VERY well!

WAY TO GO Sugar-Free! 1.5 pounds already! That is amazing! Maybe you don't need that whooshie fairy coupon! *lol* You can certainly change your goal...and yes, stairs count! Still, pretend these are the last 2 weeks before the end of the challenge: what might you be doing differently than you are now? It's something to think about!

{{{jsj}}} The 6-week challenge is skkye's challenge, so she will keep track of the inches, etc. What Elsie does is continues to keep track of our weight every week!

To change your ticker, look at the code and adjust the numbers in the code. As an example:

                    Code:
                     [url="http://tickers.tickerfactory.com/ezt/d/3;10731;131;0;1/c/174.2/t/120/s/188.6/k/5e03/weight.png"]http://tickers.tickerfactory.com/ezt/d/3;10731;131;0;1/c/[b]174.2[/b]/t/[b]120[/b]/s/[b]188.6[/b]/k/5e03/weight.png[/url]
Chnage the numbers that changed and then plug the code back into your signature.

........another way to change your ticker is to redo your ticker at the ticker factory and then post the new bbcode onto your signature. Be sure to click on your old ticker first in the edit section (it will let you click on it and then you just delete it)...then post the code right onto the page where the old ticker was and click preview...you should see the new ticker appear in its "picture" form...Cleo's way is probably much easier, but this was the only way I could figure out to do it....I didn't ask anyone...just played around with things until I got this approach to work lol! Gee, I do that alot...maybe that's why I get stuck on things huh? lol

Thanks Cleo....what am I doing different???? Um...I'm not eating any sugar and I am actually following the induction plan

.......and I have been on a clean induction for a couple of days now...I do think I need to add more veggies though....I can't wait to get below 170! It will be time to CELEBRATE!!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Sugarfreeone! Congrats on the weight loss...what a nice birthday present!

jsj...my goodness I can't believe the growth you have gone through lately!! You are becoming such a strong woman!!! It is very cool to read all your posts and insights.

wannabe...6 pounds!! that is awesome!!! You will be hitting onederland before you know it! Way to go on overcoming the scale thing!

jaria...way to go. Keep an eye out for the new threads as Cleo will be posting a new one every Sunday.

rybread....a size 12?? Atta girl! You just go to prove that the scale can lie and the tape measurement doesn't!!!

Cleo...thanks for the encouragement. I got some flax seed today and put 1 T on my salad. Will have to look up some recipes for it. Am looking forward to the extra fiber.

Lisa M...what a cool tradition that your girls will always treasure!! Good for you for keeping it and your plan. I think if you can resist the cake and icing that you will do fine at dinner! If you are tempted just remember all the emails you read about how awful others who have cheated feel afterward...both physically and emotionally. It is so not worth it. Instead of focusing on the food you get to focus on the people and the memory!

I hit a bit of a challenge today. Was very busy with DH home all day and it was the first day I could not sit down and plan my meal. I did okay my ratios were close but I sure like it better when I can plan and play in fitday more because my carbs were way down...I had worked up to 27 and still losing 2 pounds a week and am not trying to go back down. We are going to be tackleing some big projects together so will be interesting to see how the eating goes.

                          Be a great day everyone!!

Thanks cleo and sugar free one. I cannot seem to find the code though...

cleo. i guess i didn't write that right...I know elsie here keeps track of our losses for the mid year challange, but if we are doing the 6wec and can't weigh ourselves...then we can't tell you or elsie your losses for this challange. Ohh wait, is it only mandatory to weigh before and after for the 6wec, but we can in between, we just don't HAVE to post? I just want to make sure I can still weight myself to report to elsie...but still do the 6wec. Am I making any sence? I'm tired..I think its time for bed..
