Ebony...good for you for trying to get as close and you can and not giving up! You are a winner! Please don't stay away just because you aren't doing well. Instead tell us your struggles. You can bet that someone here is or has felt the very same way you are right now. When you post those struggles it helps others know they are not alone. We are all here to help each other through this! Be strong. You can do this!

I have to tell you what I am struggling with right now. It is silly and strange. I am struggling with parting with my bigger clothes. Not because I don't have some others to fit into or anything...just because they are comfy and I like them. Sorta like old comfortable friends...Weird, HUH?

Ebony-- I thought ADBB deserved perfection so I was going to leave the board for good.

You see, I fell off the wagon and was thinking you guys needed better than someone like me who can't even keep my act together.

Don't ever stay away just because of what you think. We need YOU.

I love you, woman! I don't care what you think your flaws are. I need you here.

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread, November 20-26

I was amazed when I read the list of how much so many people set as a goal to lose by the end of the year. I am hoping and praying that I will achieve my 8 pounds. At the rate I am going even that seems unrealistic. This morning I was discouraged to see the scale a good two pounds higher. And my Thanksgiving feast isn't even until next weekend (Dec. 3) when my kids can be here. I am determined to stick to the turkey, although for the others I will be preparing fresh cranberry sauce, candied sweet potatoes, chestnut stuffing, pumpkin pie...the whole traditional palette. All it will take to convince me that I am masochistic is to start baking Xmas cookies. My exercise yesterday had been 30 minutes on the stationary bike and some physiotherapy exercise. My food yesterday (over the course of the entire day): large can of salmon, 2 celery stalks, 1/2 cucumber, 2 tomatoes, lemon juice from 1 lemon, Hellman's 80% mayonnaise, 50 g cheese. Too many calories or two many carbs? I am in week 7 of the program. Today I have only had boiled chicken so far.

                Hi Marji!
Congrats on your weight lose so far. That is a huge amount for 7 weeks! It doesn't look like a lot of food to me so I am sure it is not too much calories. If you are still hungry then it is not enough food. Are you still hungry? Do you use www.fitday.com ? You should enter your stuff there and see what your cal/carbs/ratios are. What is Hellman's 80% mayo?? What is the in the other 20%?

                  Elsie,

The seven weeks is starting *again*. The weight loss has been since December 2003!!! I was down to 134 and then went back up to 188 and now I am hovering around 166. I am almost always still hungry, even after I have eaten what should be more than enough. What makes it even more difficult is that I get hungrier *after* I have eaten something, even if it is low or no carb. Hellman's 80% mayo is the full fat kind. I think it means 80% fat. I'll have to check the label. I don't regularly use the fitday, because I usually don't weigh everything anymore and I am not regularly online.

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread, November 20-26

Thanks for clearing that up Marji. Still 22 pounds in 7 weeks is still pretty good! I started at 237 on August 11 and have lost 38...so you are doing quite well in my opinion. I have been terrible about using fitday myself lately but I still recommend you do it everynow and then so you can see where you are cal/carb/ratio wise. Just so you aren't straying too far off base. Here is what helps me a lot with my hunger issues. Drink MINIMUM 12 cups of water a day. And I noticed that you did have vegies...good for you...but if you add a bunch of dark green lettuce or spinach to your vegies with a bit of salad dressing you will feel fuller. And it seems to satisfy me better than if I just ate the vegies because salad takes longer. Just try it and see if it works. Just my opinion Marji!! Feel free to let me know what you think.

                            Hi Elsie,

I certainly don't want to minimize what I have lost in the past seven weeks and I definitely feel better than I did seven weeks ago. You got to realize that I also gained those 22 pounds in about the same amount of time! My physical massage therapist didn't even notice last week that I had lost *anything*. That's how much I still have to go. But I don't want to just complain. I will try to be better about adding the leafy greens and more water. Thanks for your support.
