  • Re: Valentine's Day Challenge

Checking in with a lousy NO POUNDS DOWN! I am mad/disappointed as I have only lost 5 since the beginning of the year...so 5 pounds in the 6 weeks. When before I was losing about 8 pounds a month!! Yeah I know...5 pounds in 6 weeks in almost a pound a week and I should be happy with that..but to go from 8 pounds a month to 5 pounds in 6 weeks is more of a slow down than I want. So unless some magical Whoosie fairy visits me I will not be making my goal this time (stamping foot and pouting)!.

No pouting! LOL Elsie you have been doing bejond wonderful. You are such an inspiration to all of us. I truly hope that you make goal, but you know and we all know that you gave this your all. That' what counts. I don't think I'll make goal either, but we tried our best. I'm content with that.

I am trying really hard to be a better me. For some reason, exercise is a way for me to release a lot of the anger that I have inside from a really screwed up childhood. When I exercise, I feel like I am fighting to be better than that. It's weird, but works for me. I refuse to give up on myself, or my goals. It's funny b/c a month ago, it would have been dreams instead of goals..but not now. I am so close to my first goal and their's no feeling in the world like it.

We have been kickin a$$, plain and simple. I'm so proud to be a part of such a great challenge, with such a great group of people. Thanks for starting this challenge Shelly Lynn, I never know my full potential until now.

I'll be back to report exercise and weight....

*****Today we should have a water challenge!!!***** We are so close to the end, why not? Maybe the extra water will give up the little wooshes we need. I'm in for 200 ozs.... Good Luck!

Hi everyone I'm still doing well and feeling good...I feel that I've gotten rid of the sodium bloat

I will be weighing in right on Valentine's Day as that is a gym night. We are expecting a Blizzard/Nor'easter that will hit Saturday afternoon and continue into Sunday afternoon. "they" are saying up to 12 inches or so which screws up my gym time for Sunday I will still work out at home with some weights and Pilates tapes, but I'll miss my cardio.

I won't be reaching my goal this challenge, but I am bound and determined to make goal for the next challenge.

You all are doing great..good to see those losses piling up

                  Have a great weekend!

1 pound down as of this morning. Phew! Finally! I'm definitely not going to make goal, but it was good to lose 7 pounds. At least I didn't gain so I'm happy about that!!!

Maybe I can squeeze another pound in there somehow before Valentine's day...although I know it's going to be tough...exercise here I cooooommmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! It's my saving grace right at this moment!!!!

Oh and by the way, Elsie, don't be so tough on yourself! You have been doing great all along. It's ok not to make goal. Look at how far you've come. That should bring a smile to your face.

JSJ, good thinking on the water challenge, but I don't think I can pee any more than I already am. I wake up twice a night to go and it's starting to make me sleep deprived. I'm just kidding! I'm going to do my best for today to keep up with YOU!!!! Great job on all that exercise. I've been sick so not up for anything.

                    Chat with you later!!!

jsj..man are you ever doing great!!!!

sadie...CONGRATS on making goal!! I can't even dream of being that small. I think I was still in elementary school at that weight and I know I wasn't overweight then.

YAH GABS! Another pound..you go girl.

Gabs, jsj, Spikette...I am really proud of us and everyone still here and trying that even though we are not making goal that we are not giving up.

Wouldn't that be a silly reason to give up..just because we didn't make a certain number that we liked or rounded off too by a certain date set just because it seemed like a good date to pick? I have said since the beginning..and during last challenge too...that the winning is in the trying and not giving up. Mind you I wouldn't turn down getting to goal....LOL! But just wanted to stress that it is okay for those of us that didn't make it..not to use that as an excuse to fall off the wagon and to know that there is no need to be quiet and not participate on the list because you aren't going to meet your goal. There is always another challenge and we are not in this for a quick fix but to change our way of eating for life so eventually we will get to where we are supposed to be and for some it will come off fast and for some slow...that is just the way it is. This is not a race it is a way of life. Be proud of who you are and how far you have come. And do not give up the fight because YOU are your strongest advocate and are so worth it!!

Anyhow, we are homw now, and I will be weighing myself in a bit and exercising. I'm gonna report back in a little while. I havn't weighed myself since friday, and I was 166.2, but I didn't change my siggy. I may up the exercise and drink a TON of water in hopes of a wooshie.

(((Elsie))) That is some really great advise. I felt very motivated when I reda that. Thank you

(((Gabs))) Hey lady. I drank ALL the water, and yep, I was up all night....LOL I don't blame you for now wanting to turn into a water balloon!! LOL. You are so funny The exercise is fun, and I do in monday thru friday so I don't get burnt out, ya know?
