    shelly30..weigh to go!!!

jsj..glad to hear today was much better for you! I finished my diet pop and won't buy any more for a while now. It just makes all my eating choices bad..I seem to be an all or nothing kinda gal...LOL!

analog..you can do this! Make sure you are drinking all your water and if it continues to refuse to drop take a look at your calories and ratios using www.fitday.com and see if anything pops out at you there.

Had a good day today. Did an induction day. Drank all my water..12 cups and I am still drinking. Could had a better lunch than a chunk of cheese but I woke up late and had breakfast and had to leave for DD violin recital. So grabbed the cheese as I was heading out the door as I knew I would be hungry before we got back. Did have a big supper (taco salad) to make up for it. I like big suppers.

      Hi all you beautiful losers,

Glad to see everyone is doing so well, and those that fell of the wagon, popped right back on again. Good for all of you!! That’s the ay to go.

Sorry that I have not been a regular, but I have so much to do and so little time!!

DH and I are leaving for our overseas holiday on the 14th, so I am really pushing it to loose these pounds and get to my V-day goal. I’ve been running around, getting passports organized, getting my house sorted out, and all those wonderful things.

OK, here is the maths on my lost/gain/lost so far. TOM visited on the 18th and I gained a pound, actually 3 pounds during that week. This pushed me right back to my start weight of 208. I was really down and was right there ready to give up. So, one night I picked up my book and started looking for something or some reason why I am not loosing weight …. And I found it ….. the Fat Fast. OK, what I read there was that it is very dangerous, so I modified it a bit for my own needs. And guess what …. I’ve lost 4 pounds since Monday the 23rd. So, this brings me to 204 pounds ….. 6 pounds to go to V-Day. At this rate I should most definitely make my V-Day goal.

My sister and I also decided that we are going to enter a fun-run / walk this coming Saturday. So the two of us are exercising like mad, trying to fit 5km into 45 minutes. Probably not such a big deal, but when you are unfit and overweight it can be a problem. So this is another challenge facing us.

Otherwise, I am doing well – drinking my water and exercising.

Well, let me get back to my work. I hope I will have time to pop in more.

Hope you all have a carb-free whoosy day.

        Good Morning Everyone.

I'm gonna weight in a bit...not now, I'm too sleepy. LOL

Do any of you guys use an elliptical when you work out? If you do, what brand/model is it? I'm getting one w/ income taxes (YIPPIE) and I want to get the best one I can afford.

(((Tania))) Welcome Back! You sure have had a lot going on lately! When TOM visits, I'll gain back 5 even 6 pounds sometimes, but they do go back down, and then some. Maybe next month, you'll be down more so that when TOM comes and the scale shifts, you won't be so discouraged b/c it won't look like you haven't made any progress. The Fat fast is for people with a high metabolic resistance. If you lost before, then I don't think you really need to do it. I know it's rough to look at the scale reading the same number as when you started, but believe me, it goes back down. I just don't want you to tread in dangerous waters if you don't have to. I hope you have a wooshie day too!!!

Okay, be back later. Bye everyone!

          Good Morning!

Tania..wow...you sound very busy! Have you ever checked out www.fitday.com and entered your food there to check your ratios and calories? You might want to do that and start adding in more veggies. Sometimes during induction it is easy to eat excess calories before our bodies accept the fact that we are eating fat to keep it satisfied and the hunger goes away. It is a very useful tool.

jsj...will be interesting to see the comments about the elliptical. If I were to buy an exercise machine that would be it. I won't because I suck at follow through. Another way you can see if you will like it before you buy it is to go to a gym and pay a drop in fee and try thiers out to see if it is something you like. Are they like the treadmills where you can adjust the tension/incline? I always thought that if I got either one that it would be cool to keep track of the miles and get a map and highlight were I walked/jogged to. LOL!

Well, bootcamp is officially over and I can finally get back to my friends. I just caught up with what I've been missing out on. Congrats to all of you for doing so great!

JSJ, great job getting through that tough day. It sounds like you did very well resisting the temptations. Birthdays can be tough. I have mine, my husband and mother's this coming month, so I'm sure I'll be there with ya.

Elsie, I totally love the Elliptical machine. If I could afford it, I would buy one. Before I gained weight, I used it all the time and the weight just melted off. Now, I'm enjoying at-home workout DVDs and those, I've found to be really fun too. And to answer your question, it can be adjusted to different ramp levels and the settings can be changed for circuit, fat, etc., training. Ok, enough about the machine and onto my results....

I weighted in this morning. I was finally allowed to do so since bootcamp was officially over yesterday. I lost 5 pounds in two weeks!!! I'm so happy about that! It feels great. I'm so glad that I can get back to my routine. Phew! Bootcamp was a great learning experience but A LOT OF WORK. I'm just so happy to have my afternoons back. I missed you guys! And with that, I still have 6 pounds to go until Valentine's day. Don't know if I'll make it but I am sure happy about my accomplishment so far!

It's great to be back! You guys have no idea!

((((Ebony)))) Great job on the loss!!

((((Gabs)))) Congrats on the loss! 5 lbs is awesome! Boot camp IS hard, but you understand so much more about everything once you're done. I loved it.

It's so nice to see you guys! You have definately been missed!!

So today was a nice night. I made chicken for the rest of the week, and still checkin out ellipticals online. I really like the ProForm850...It's got all kinds of goodies. I'm leaning toward that one, but if I find another one, I'll DEFINATELY check it out. I'm so excited to have one!! I am just a research junkie, so who knows when I'll actually get it. I want to get the best machine for my money, ya know?

Well, I gotta run. Be back later!!!

It's so great to have some life back in here!! YEA

Had a good eating day today. Got my 12 cups of water in again today. I am retaining water for some reason...something that very rarely happens..in fact I don't recall it happening since I started Atkins..I can tell by the ring on my finger...I can usually get it on each of my fingers but now can't. Don't know why...not having extra salt...not on any meds...strange. Hopefully another day or two of faithfully drinking my water will start my body letting go...maybe I will even get a whoosh out of it....I sure could use one to help me reach my goal...LOL!

Yea Elsie!!!! Weight to go girl!! I swear we are just the same sometimes. I FINALLY gulped all my water down too. No diet rite, or cheese for me yesterday. Oh how I do miss them......

I'm still only half way to my goal with 2 weeks left!!! YIKES! TOM couldn't come at a better time! I lost a whole week so far, but that's okay it's the same week that I get P.I.S.S., ya know? Kill 2 birds with one stone, I guess.

I think I decided on an elliptical. The ProForm 850. It's usually $700-800, depending on where you go, but I found it on sale for $499. I can aford that. I really only wanted to spend 400, but if I can get a 7 or 8 hundred dollar elliptic for only a hundred bucks more, I think it's smarter to do it that way. It is nice, it has 10 resistance levels, EKG2 heart rate moniter, fan built in, bottle holder, 8 work outs programmed, the normal cal. burned, distance, time, etc... and if kinda fold up at the ends, which is great. It really seems like a great buy.

I some that had some thing called iFit I think, but it's music and iPods and all that mess, which I don't really mess with, so it's pointless to spend 800 just for those features and get a crappy machine. It seems like this is a durable, machine, with less gadgets. It has what I need and a few cool extras, but nothing too overwhelming.

Elsie, I did check it out, and they do make some with an inclin, but they are less available. The one I found for my price range has it but is a cheap model, so it's not worth it to me. Mine doesn't and I'm okay with that.

Well, that's enough rambling for me. I am just really excited and I've never had anything nice like this before.

I'll be back later to weigh in!!!

How was your day yesterday everyone??

                          Hi Everyone!
I am sneaking onto the forum right now....Our computer has a virus and I stayed away from it for a few days but I had to let you know that I'm still on board.

JSJ- Congrats on the elliptical. I hear it's the best for an overall workout.

Okay, I have really been keeping on track for the last 5 days but haven't noticed any weight loss as yet. Actually I feel like I'm gaining weight and I am getting a lot of headaches. I find this strange because even before I went on induction my intake of sugar was very minimal so I'm not sure why I have been getting them. Is it possible that I'm drinking too much water?

I am so determined to lose some weight before this challenge is over! I continue to be stressed out and tired. Job searching is so darn draining.

I am so very proud of all of you. You really are doing an amazing job keeping on track and I draw my strength from you.

Today, I plan on preparing some induction friendly meals and I'm quite excited to try some new recipes.

Does anyone, have an induction friendly cheesecake recipe I could adopt? I'm getting bored of the pumpkin cheesecake that I usually make.

Will try to check in soon but if the computer fails know that I'm still on board and I will find away to chat with you before the end of the week!

                              Hi Flab,
I have the most awesome cheesecake recipe and it's really easy to make too.

                              Lo-Carb Cheesecake:

3 8oz packs of Philadelphia cream cheese
                              3 tsp vanilla extract
                              3 eggs
30 splenda envelopes, equivalent to 1/8 cup of Splenda

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all these ingredients in a blender. Add pam to the bottom of the pan (I use a glass pie pan) and pour the mixture. Cook for 45 minutes and whola, it's done! It needs to be chilled and you can add whip cream to top it off. Sometimes I add blueberries but not right now since I'm back on Induction.

Just remember that you're only allotted 4 oz of cheese and 3 packs of Splenda per day on Induction.

I thought elliptical machines cost $2000 plus, but if they're in the $500 range, I may just be interested and maybe get it as a birthday present ....it sounds really great and a great deal! I'm really happy for you! I bet you're really going to enjoy it.
