TASK FOR MONDAY JAN 2 (they sent it out really late today!!)
We are in Zone 1 this week; the Front Porch, the Entrance area and the Dining Room.
Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door. Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see when they come to your home.
Spend 15 minutes taking care of this, you will be pleased with the results!

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
Mandilee...I know there are still a lot of emails. I haven't seen the computer one yet but I have only been on the list for a couple of days now. Do go ahead and join and if you think there is something else we could be joining start another challenge for it and I will join.
It is nice to know that some of the things stick everytime. I know that I have joined several times and it gets me started. Last year I was finally ready to part with some stuff. Quite a bit actually but it doesn't seem to have made a visual difference yet...but...the living room is a lot faster to clean up now...so maybe it has.
I wear clothes you don't have to iron ;^). So that helps. A dressing area sounds great!
Wanna...okay I got it! Good for you. Wasn't it great to see that this morning??
Okay..everyone up? And dressed to the shoes? Sinks shined?
I am and it is and the kids are emptying the dishwasher now. Life is good!

DD and I worked outside in front of the house today. She had so much fun helping that she asked if we could do another 15 minutes. So we did a 1/2 hour out there. DH will have to spend a 1/2 hour out there doing some stuff(cleaning out flower beds) and then it is all done!
Kitchen stayed clean today...sink stayed shined. I have explained to the kids(8&9) what I am trying to do and asked them to help. So they are in charge of emptying the dishwasher and putting their dirty dishes in there. I will admit that there have been minimal dishes as I have been pulling ready cooked meals from the freezer so it will be interesting to see what happens when I generate a bigger mess. I got dressed to the shoes today.
I am also starting my control journal (day 2) and showed it to the kids and we did up their bed time routine too! Amazing what can happen when you ask for help! And the responsibility will be good for the kids...much better for them than when I try to do everything!!

Today you are doing what we have already done. -Getting up and dressing
to lace up shoes -Keeping your sink shining -Reading your reminders for 2
minutes.
Then I want you to read something on our website. This will help you to
understand more about what we are doing and how together with our
reminders, essays and testimonials you are going to see changes in your
home and attitude.
Today is the day that you will spend 15 minutes in the entrance way
of your home. Grab all the mail, shoes and jackets and put them
away! I am always so surprised at how much stuff seems to accumulate
in that one area! This is one area that when you tackle it and you
are finished that you feel such a huge accomplishment because it is
what you see first as you come through the door!

OK - I shined my sink and got myself completely ready this morning but missed the part where I have to fix my entryway outside . However, I, instead, accomplished tomorrow's challenge to day - unbeknownst to me. So I guess I'll juggle the chores around a little .

Just reporting in to say that the beds are made, the sinks are dry, and I just spent 15 minutes straightening up. All's done, and I'm showered, hair is dry, and I'm dressed down to my shoes. No make-up, though...
We're getting there! Wonder what today's assignment will be... This is fun!
Wow..you really are on the ball this morning. If you scroll up you will see what you need to do today. It is in big bold letters. I posted it last night.
My sink is shined..I am up and showered and dressed to the shoes..even remembered to put on some perfume.
Reminder to everyone: Take something out for dinner. Make this a part of your morning routine. And drink your water!

How did everyone do today?? My sink is still shined. Got dressed to my shoes. Had my dinner defrosting in the morning. And got my entrance way cleaned up. I think before I do the task of the day I will take a few moments to upkeep the previous areas....wonder how long I can keep that up.

It is all about the babysteps. So today you had to keep your sink shined (for me this means keep it empty)..get dressed to the shoes. Do your normal morning cleaning (for me this ain't much..then I wonder why everything is so cluttered?) and then do your task for the day. Today was entrance way...does that mean that you have to organize the whole thing? NO! It means set your timer for 15 minutes and work and when the timer goes off then you are done! You don't have to do more. You will get to it the next time we work in that zone. My trick that I am doing is I am adding the areas that we have tackled to my morning routine and keep whatever part I did get done done.....that way when we are in the area again I can work on a different part.
Babysteps...15 minutes...you can do it!! What do you say??
